And Beyond
Fahmeen's POV:
I know the question is lingering in his mind; will I move back in? I want to think about it for a bit.
We sit next to each other in his car as he drove us around during the party for some privacy.
"You're going America soon, right?"
He looks at me and his hand goes to stroke my thigh.
"We're going very soon, yes. In about two weeks. I booked it straight after your prom, actually." Rolf unhooks his belt and mine and he faces me.
"Come back home."
He tucks some hair away from my face.
"I can show you pictures of my folks. My sisters want to see you, I promised Angie you'd FaceTime her." He chuckles. Angie, his youngest sister and Raven was the middle sibling.
"That is, if you still want to?"
"Of course I want to. I just need time. Maybe once prom's over I can think about moving in again? When I can focus on just us."
He blows out a breath and slowly nods, taking what I said in. It's not exactly what he'd planned but it's better then nothing.
"Okay, we'll do it your way. And America? Will you come with me?"
"I will. I think we need this."
...
"We're good." I smile at Georgia and Sam. We're in the secret garden, all sitting on the swinging seat. Georgia starts squealing, hiding her huge smile behind her hands.
My sister just sighs like she's been waiting for this and lays back, soon lost in her own daydream.
"So the wedding's back on." Georgia says, inspecting the ring on my hand. We're mesmerised as it shines in the sunlight.
"And the planning. Oh my god, girls. Your prom is in two weeks, and I've yet to see your dresses!"
We both laugh, looking at my sister as she childishly crosses her arms.
"It's not funny. It's bad enough I wasn't invited to the dress shopping."
"Calm down, you'll be there when I'm looking for the wedding dress. Isn't that more exciting?"
"Pssht. It's still all interesting."
"Oh, there you are." Adrian comes along and stands in front of us. He's blocking the sunlight; as we all look up at him.
"I'm going for ice cream. I was wandering if anyone wanted to come along?" He shuffles on his feet, the soft curls on his head blowing with the spring breeze. Adrian is only looking at my sister because he's only asking her, so me and Georgia knowingly stay silent.
"Me! Ice cream? Yes please." She shoots up and as she walks off he smirks and follows behind her.
"I predict more wedding bells in the near future." Georgia sighs, adjusting her sunglasses.
...
"Let me take you somewhere tonight. I've booked tomorrow off work." We stand at the front door as the party has ended. Rolf stayed late, helping the tidy up. I think it's his favourite part.
He's backed me up against the door and closed it, giving us some privacy. His long arm leaned on the wall behind me, keeping me close to him.
"Where?"
His eyes watch the winds blow my hair away from my face and then he comes closer. His mouth is dangerously close to mine. I can smell sweet iced tea on his lips.
"To the stars."
I can't help but smile at the Titanic reference, he knows I love that movie. I was now roped into whatever he had in mind. I so wanted him to sweep me away and go exactly where he wants us to go.
To the stars.
...
"I'm just going to pick some stuff up." Rolf says, as we drive into the familiar underground car park. He parks in his private space and shuts off the engine.
"You can come up if you want?"
"It's okay, I'll wait here. You're not going to be long, right?"
"Nah." He kisses my forehead and leaves the car.
When he returns, it's with a weekend bag.
"We're going away?" I enquire out the window, watching him approach the car with a knowing smile.
"Not too far, trouble."
He sits with a sigh, I see his body relax and there's a lazy smile on his face.
"You're gonna love it, though."
...
"Okay, close your eyes."
I comply and can hear gravel crunch beneath the tyres as we park up somewhere. He guides me out the car, keeping my hand tightly in his as he brings the mysterious bag with him. As we walk, the stones beneath our feet soon turn to soft, grains of sand and I realise exactly where we are.
I gasp.
"The beach!"
He chuckles and walks me so that I'm standing in front of him.
"Yes baby, the beach. And guess what?" He leans into my ear and kisses the top.
"What?" I whisper back, the hairs stand on the back of my neck.
"We're the only ones here."
I smile, looking forward to tonight. Whatever he has planned, I know it's going to be perfect.
"Okay, just trust me on this."
I hear him shuffle around, unzipping the bag and the whoosh of a blanket. My hands have to go over my eyes as I don't trust myself. As much as I love surprises, I do have a rebellious itch.
"I'll help you but can you lay on your back for me?"
"Mmhmm." I'm careful to do so but his hands are wherever I needed them to be. We both end up on our backs on the softest blanket which is permeating a cosy, fresh laundry scent.
"Alright." He groans, getting comfortable.
"Open your eyes."
Slowly, my eyes open and I am staring at a dark blue blanket of the brightest stars.
"To the stars."
Euphoria hums through my body.
"To the stars, trouble." He takes my hand and places a soft kiss. He then hugs me as we lay there, resting his head on my chest.
"The way you're feeling looking at these stars is the way I feel when I'm with you."
I turn to face him and I can't help but start to giggle.
"Hey it's the truth!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I love that you said that. It was so very sweet." I kiss his hair.
"It's mesmerising, babe. This is beautiful."
He rumbles in agreement. Rolf reminds me of an almost sleeping giant. His large, rock hard form draped all over my body.
A while later:
"Want to open up the bag?" I hear him mumble into my body. Suddenly I'm curious, so I sit up, my hands already itching to get in there.
I find a couple of drink bottles, the deep purple packaging of a Cadbury's Dairy Milk chocolate bar and other snacks.
"I figured we wouldn't get too hungry after the party but there's a few bites there, for when we do work up an appetite."
I raise my head up at the last bit. He's already watching me, now sitting up. Rolf gently moves the bag off of my lap, keeping eye contact. He doesn't break it as he uses his body to lay me back down. That very soft blanket beneath us.
"I've been lost without you. Not only my mind, baby these dreams I have most nights don't let me sleep. But my body... it's missed its other half."
I gulp as he says words I needed to hear. He's edging closer and he kisses me.
"I want to take you into our cave. Can I do that?"
...
Rolf set us up nicely, so that we have a great view of the full moon and starry sky. The mouth of the cave brings in gentle, night winds and he brings me closer into his chest and cradles Willow under his huge palm. He lies behind me, on the blanket, kissing my neck. I don't react yet, letting him access to me as I allow my mind to offload and relax as I stare at the night sky. It's too beautiful to miss. He was right, I did love this.
"You know me, Rolf. You know me so well."
He pauses his kisses and I hear him shuffle behind me. Closer he gets and his hand turns my face towards him.
"Who else is going to other than me? There can be no one else." His words are possessive and self assured. He always relaxes me, eases my mind.
"No one else." He whispers for the last time before placing his lips on mine.
We stay kissing like this, enjoying the sounds of the busy shore and warm night. Every so often his soft groans echo in this cave of ours. I hold him closer to me, and he goes onto to taste my skin wherever his eye could see. I lean back and play with his hair, relishing his soft lips and moist tongue all over my body. He's taking his time, being patient and savouring me as if I would slip away after tonight.
Lost in this transcendent state, I hadn't noticed him slip off my dress. I see it somewhere beside me, as well as my shoes and bra. Rolf is now dedicating some time to my breasts whilst he strokes himself through his jeans. He's lost his top along the way, too.
"Do you feel good, baby?"
"Mmhm." I sigh, and I soon feel his fingers slide down my underwear.
I lay fully naked underneath him. Rolf blows out a breath, staring at me.
"Your skin looks exquisite in this light." He stands up, his eyes roaming my body and therefore amping up my body heat. He sheds the last of his clothes, but he doesn't do what I expect. Instead, he lays beside me, leaning on his hand, watching.
