Foiled Evil
I was jolted awake at 5 AM by Nancy. Her unexpected presence surprised me; she was never up this early. Her face was stern, but her voice carried an odd excitement.
“Sebastian wants to see you,” she said.
My heart leaped at the mention of his name. I quickly got out of bed and rushed to the bathroom to wash up, a smile playing on my lips. As I scrubbed away the remnants of sleep, I couldn’t help but think about our last encounter. It had been pitiful, and I desperately wanted to make things right. I decided that no matter what Sebastian wanted to do, I would do it. I would please him, even if it meant enduring pain. My resolve strengthened as I finished my bath.
From outside the bathroom, Nancy’s voice interrupted my thoughts. “This is a special occasion, so wear your best outfit.”
I did as she instructed, donning my finest clothes. When I stepped out of the bathroom, Nancy was waiting for me, a strange smile on her face. She led me outside where a car was waiting, two guards standing by.
One of the guards opened the door for me, and I climbed inside, Nancy following close behind. As we settled into the car, I couldn’t contain my curiosity.
“What’s happening? Where is Sebastian?” I asked.
“He’ll be here soon. He’s inside, freshening up,” Nancy replied smoothly.
I believed her, not sensing any deception. Shortly after, a man approached the car with a drink. “Courtesy of Sebastian,” he said, handing it to me through the window.
I took the drink happily, thinking this gesture was Sebastian’s way of making up for last time. I sipped it, feeling a warm, fuzzy sensation spread through me. But within minutes, my eyelids grew heavy, and I drifted off to sleep.
Nancy’s pov
I watched Ariella slump over, unconscious from the drugged drink. I smirked, turning to the guards. “Alright, she’s out. Let’s move.”
We started the car and drove off. I leaned back, reveling in my victory. I remembered how rude Ariella had been, and now look at her state—completely at my mercy. As we drove, my thoughts were interrupted by a car passing us. It seemed out of place, but I dismissed it initially.
When the car turned back and began to follow us, my unease grew. “Speed up,” I ordered the driver.
The driver pressed the accelerator, but the pursuing car matched our speed. We merged onto the main road, the streetlights illuminating the car behind us. My heart raced when I recognized the car—a Rolls Royce with the distinctive “S” plate number, marking it as one of Sebastian’s vehicles.
“Faster!” I shouted, panic rising.
The guards exchanged worried glances but did as they were told. The chase was on. The car swerved through traffic, trying to lose our pursuer, but the Rolls Royce remained on our tail.
“Damn it, they’re not giving up,” I muttered under my breath. “Keep going!”
The driver swerved sharply to avoid another car, and I could feel the tension building. “Can’t you go any faster?” I yelled at him.
“I’m trying, but this is a busy road!” he snapped back, his knuckles white as he gripped the steering wheel.
I turned to look out the back window, my heart pounding. The Rolls Royce was still there, relentless in its pursuit. Sweat beaded on my forehead as I tried to come up with an excuse, something to explain this situation to Sebastian. But nothing came to mind.
The car hit a straight stretch of road, and the driver floored it. We sped past other vehicles, the engine roaring. But the Rolls Royce kept pace, inching closer. I could see the determination in the driver’s eyes, and it only fueled my panic.
“Lose them!” I screamed, my voice rising in hysteria.
“We’re trying!” the guard in the passenger seat shouted back. “But they’re too close!”
My mind raced, trying to find a way out. But just as I was about to give another frantic command, a truck appeared out of nowhere, slamming into the side of our car with a deafening crash. The impact was brutal, metal crunching and glass shattering. My head whipped forward, pain exploding through my body as the world spun around me.
The car came to a screeching halt, and I found myself on the ground, disoriented and bleeding. The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth, and I struggled to make sense of what had happened. Dazed, I looked around and saw the Rolls Royce parked nearby. I heard Sebastian’s voice, I knew o was fucked I knew I messed up but I still tried to escape by dragging myself forward, but then as I dragged myself forward, I blinked and he was there right in front of me, I was too weak to even move myself so I decided to rest by closing my eyes.
Ariella's Pov
I woke up in Sebastian’s room, disoriented. As my vision cleared, I saw Sebastian sleeping beside me. Panic set in. What had happened? Did I black out from too much fun? My heart raced as I struggled to remember.
“Sebastian,” I whispered, shaking his shoulder gently.
He stirred, blinking awake. The atmosphere shifted from confusion to fear and respect as he looked at me. “You’re awake,” he said, his voice soft but commanding.
“What happened?” I asked, my voice trembling. “I don’t remember anything.”
Sebastian sat up, his expression serious. “You were almost kidnapped,” he said.
I gasped, the shock rendering me speechless. Questions flooded my mind, but before I could voice them, Sebastian’s glare silenced me. I quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, I just—”
Sebastian began to explain. “As I was coming back, I saw a car pass me. It was a car I recognized—a Cadillac. Even though I’m not the only one with a car like that, I knew something was off. I decided to follow them.”
"when they took a turn i took a turn, when they slowed down i slowed down, it was obvious now that i was following them so the linked to the highway."
His eyes darkened as he continued. “When they sped up, I knew something was wrong. I made a call to set a trap. I predicted their next turn and arranged for a truck to be there. When they made the turn, the truck hit them, it was a ghastly accident, it came from the side pressing the driver drivers side and Nancy's side in."
He paused, his gaze intense. “I watched from my car, and when I saw Nancy, I immediately thought of you. I ran to your car and found you unconscious. I checked your body for any scratches or any mark but you miraculously had nothing on you, you were fine, so I carried you and I put you in my car, i called the guards to come to the scene for a clean up nd after that I headed back to the mansion and brought you to my room for you to rest."
His words left me stunned. “So you saved me,” I whispered.
“Yes,” he replied, his expression softening slightly. “You were in danger.”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized the gravity of the situation. “Thank you,” I said, my voice breaking.
Sebastian nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. “Rest now. You’re safe.”
As I lay back down, I felt a mix of relief and gratitude. Sebastian had saved me, and despite everything, he had protected me. But one question lingered in my mind.
“I can't believe Nancy did this to me?" I said as I climbed the bed slowly.
" you need to learn to trust no one evn your boss, because you are envied and i am very sure its clear already." he said as he layed down to continue his sleep.
i really am a target, I really need to be careful I began to think as I dozed off again.
