Chapter 26
Sicily and Stein took a walk around the villa and they found it very quiet and a little eerie. Sicily, who was a keen researcher, looked around with an astonished look, had something happened to make the city that looked so nice last night suddenly filled with darkness like it was in mourning?
"Move! Don't move around here or we'll crush you!"
Sicily turned her head towards one of the passageways and soon found a large tall black figure that didn't look human. She rounded her eyes when she realized that there was electricity running through the figure's body like the signs of an alien, which made her startle and walk obediently when Stein suddenly invited her to hide in one of the large pillars.
"What kind of creature is that? Why do I seem to see signs of an alien inside her?"
Sicily said with a panicked face while Stein seemed to shake his head with a serious face as well.
"Let go of me, why are you kidnapping?! Let me go, I still have a child!"
Sicily rounded her eyes at the sound of screaming and crying. It seemed like there were kidnappings and crimes here that made her unwilling to stay silent.
"That woman seems to be taken somewhere by them. How about we follow and see what exactly they've done? It's not like it's anything interesting but more of a common kidnapping done by people to earthlings."
Stein could see the anger coming out of Sicily's gaze and features. With this he felt like something had happened so quickly everything was in line with expectations.
"Are you sure you're going to follow them? What if we get kidnapped too?"
"We already know that they will commit crimes so we will be more careful. There aren't that many of them here, I'm sure we can hide until it's safe and see what they've done to the humans and citizens of M? I can't let all this happen and why are there absolutely no police moving to organize it?"
Stein smiled softly, while Sicily had already taken his hand and he led her to walk along the line of steps where the figure was walking while pulling a woman. She quickly changed focus and walked while changing and sound packing the steps according to the address and location where her parents were. Intentionally making them transparent without Sicily noticing, Stein continued to act as normal as if they were sneaking around to follow something.
"Their movements are quite fast so we have to walk fast too." Sicily said as she peeked and continued to walk a considerable distance. "Act like we've never met them and never seen them, if we see them and they realize it then they'll get annoyed."
Stein smiled and nodded. The one in front of them was a fictitious figure he created from a system so that it could be a clue and also a game that was carried out in order to lead him to the building that was supposed to be the place where his parents were locked up. At least it didn't end up that his parents were there once the black thing also hadn't moved yet. So she could still arrange it according to the floor plan where her parents were and it would show the real path because it could still be tinkered with by Stein.
Sicily stared focused ahead and still grasped Stein's hand while occasionally hiding in case the figure meant to step up and drag the woman he was carrying. They walked without a few meters and Sicily also noticed because she was paying too much attention. The vacation and fun plans that were already in her head stopped here as she discovered the not-so-good circumstances and conditions being experienced by the citizens.
"Why aren't there many people coming out of the house? Are these houses actually empty because most of them have been captured by that alien-like figure?"
Stein looked around and shook his head slowly. Pretending not to know was the best thing because he just wanted to keep all of this a secret and put her in a pretty poor state. After this it would be back to normal and Stein only had 3 hours to sort it out.
"He went towards the laboratory building? That's like the science laboratory building in our city. Are our city and country m actually working together on research? Why do I see such a similar shape to the one in our place?" Stein asked while hiding because the figure he was pointing at seemed to realize the person chasing them.
Sicily also hid next to the man, then breathed a sigh of relief at not being spotted. Several other figures were also sent by Stein to make the whole situation seem real, all according to what he wanted as Sicily was also seen holding her breath so that no one would realize that she was here.
"Have the aliens whose features were found by some citizens in our place moved here now? It was really quiet in our town and I didn't find any aliens like people said. But here for only a few hours I have already encountered a very serious vision. The aliens here aren't hiding but instead they're quickly overrunning and taking things on the spot. They even abduct humans very casually and do so with no guilt. I'm a little suspicious what exactly is the use of the people who serve as the national security team? Why is no one showing up at a time like this?" Sicily grumbled in annoyance.
She couldn't get over the fact that these aliens seemed to migrate to far away places just to get what they wanted. The people in her country were probably too many and too close together so no one was on their own so it was difficult to find a suitable target.
"I rather wonder why they brought her into this building? Is there something that has happened between the owner of the laboratory building and the aliens to make cooperation? They kidnapped humans and brought them here, it's all worthy of suspicion."
Sicily was silent in confirmation. She recalled Professor John's words asking her or investigating the aliens. The man said he would use the aliens as research material to find a way to build an airplane that could penetrate outer space. As well as wanting to see how smart the creature called space alien is in dealing with something?
Because they are said to be creatures that have greater expertise and intelligence than humans in general. Of course, there are many people who feel curious even though they have never managed to meet an alien before.
"At first I didn't want to believe that there were aliens on earth and came down to a place where technology was still very behind like this. I wondered what they were looking for when there was nothing interesting here at all. Is there something that has happened on Earth that they are interested in? I haven't been paying much attention because I've been busy studying and calming down with my heavy workload. But I've been working for a few years now and I don't know why everything seems to be running so normally without any signs of people working together from the inside?"
Stein smiled softly. "People's minds are different and we can't force them to stay basically the same. I'm sure after this there will be considerable changes and if indeed the employees in this city are involved in using the laboratory as a wrong place, then the guidance and change of order of the officials and experts must be replaced or else this problem will be repeated," he said seriously.
Sicily nodded slowly. "But what if it turns out that these aliens are working with the government? We can't interfere because we are just ordinary humans who don't have the right to get what we want. Although fate can be changed, we can't keep using various methods. I have to make things the way I want them to be in order to make them clean again."
"But this isn't our country? You can still do that?"
Sicily nodded, taking out a card that was an id and also a barcode that could let her enter anywhere casually. If the laboratories in her country and in this country cooperated then it would be easier but even if not she would also try to do and get more information related to the appearance of the aliens who brought humans like to be abducted.
Stein glanced forward and realized that the aliens he created were gone and it made him smile for a month and then felt a real closeness between him and his parents. They had been disconnected all this time because the black object that was his parents' detector was lost and he didn't know that it was Sicily who found it. She had never seen this thing before despite having been in and out of this girl's room many times.
Too stupid...
"It's safer, we just walk normally and then go inside using the ID you have. We can't let that woman be taken further and further away by you guys so we'd better make a move from now on or prevent things from getting worse."
Sicily nodded, she looked at the laboratory office with a serious gaze and was indeed in an open state. Straightening her body and looking at Stein, Sicily confidently walked and was followed by the man before they finally managed to paste the ID card and because Stein was a friend of Sicily, it was allowed to enter by the system that detects the arrival of people.
The laboratory room had no people at all, but since they were also in a transparent state it was safer. Even so Stein still had to be on guard because he didn't know what could happen to him and Sicily if he and this girl went deeper.
"I'm getting more and more convinced this is the same laboratory office as in the city just in a different place. It turns out they've opened branches all the way to country m and I had no idea. Their concept is still to face aliens like there's nothing more interesting. But the difference here is that they work together with you and capture humans. I wonder what exactly have they done?"
A detection system suddenly went off and it made Stein and Sicily both startle and begin to panic. But it was not the intention to make their steps stop because they were suspected, but they had arrived at a transparent door and the door that was made of an electronic system and only used light sensors suddenly opened and showed the room in front of them with its gaze.
"There are many people locked up in the prison! Damn, do they intend to lock up these humans for experimentation? How did this happen? Why is this even a prison?" Sicily said with a panicked and astonished face, while Stein was already focused on one of the cages that was hung the highest with a green light as a sensor.
He could clearly see who was inside the green cage. It was his family!
