Chapter 7

Sicily put down her tea cup, gazed at her backyard and looked up at the full moon in the sky. She was currently relaxing, enjoying her time alone although there were those who were known to be watching her from behind.

"You can come here if you want to join us." Sicily said as she turned her head, looking at him who immediately smiled.

"I was just afraid of disturbing you in case you were thinking about the job your professor gave you." Stein said and took a seat in front of Sicily who immediately smiled. "Not working? Weren't you asked to investigate about the aliens in this city?"

Sicily nodded then sighed. "After thinking about it, I think it's difficult to find them because you must know that they will hide if someone manages to find traces of their existence. Aliens are also not stupid creatures, in fact their intelligence is higher than humans. How can I find them when I'm just an ordinary human?" Sicily asked, making Stein look at her silently.

The girl poured tea in two glasses, then drank one of them.

"Didn't the professor give you any tools to find them?"

"No, just based on clues. He said there were some humans or aliens mixed up that were on the road and could be distinguished by the small lightning bolt that appeared between his pulse and palm. Try to imagine, how could I meet someone like this among the hundreds of humans who are flowing every day? I'm not a good researcher, and besides, I've never met the senior variety who managed to discover the existence of those Aliens. I really don't know how I can go about getting all those clues."

Stein looked at her who was pouring more tea. It was obvious that Sicily was actually frustrated but she was holding it in well because she had to keep a sane attitude in order to complete this work that she was unsure whether she could finish or not.

"Usually when people are frustrated about work or something that is hard for them, they drink alcohol and get drunk. Why do you only drink tea?"

Stein did not know that habit before but he had just searched through his brain which was full of all kinds of information. Because he was an alien who was full of preparations and he did not have much time to do useless things to find out what were the habits of humans in each mood.

"I am an active student and also a teaching assistant so I am forbidden to drink alcohol. Especially when I'm frustrated because I can get overwhelmed and drink it in high portions and doses. That's why I just prefer this herbal tea, other than making my mind clear I can also be healthy. Just raise it while diving to drink water, because I can't waste my time on unimportant things like getting drunk." Sicily said with a calm face that made Stein smile.

"You never drank before?"

"Once when I gave up my teenage years and became an adult. Partied with my friends in the dark but that was about it and I went home before I got drunk. I'm a master of self-control so it's not easy to get drunk unless I drink three at once." Sicily said making Stein look at her who was chuckling. "Am I strange in your eyes because I'm too innocent like a human who knows nothing?"

Stein shook his head quickly and smiled. "No, I just like humans who can take care of themselves and not indulge in drinking and drunkenness. Because I think it's something that can make the brain function a little less. I don't really like alcohol either but I still like to touch it when I'm depressed. It's all out of my control and I don't know how to stop because if I'm too depressed I'll find a drink to enjoy."

Stein wasn't lying, it wasn't just in the human world that the intoxicating drink existed but in their place as well. It's just that only people who have a license can buy and drink it. Stein I was said to be the leader's son of course got special privileges, he could drink the drink whenever he wanted but of course with the limits that had been observed.

"Most humans do that because they find life difficult now."

Stein looked at her with a thoughtful face, knowing that Sicily wanted to confide in him so he would be happy to listen. At least he could help since he had already caused this woman trouble by helping her.

"Some of our resources are depleted and non-renewable so we still need exports from other countries. You know how the export system works, right? The food or materials we get are very expensive and there's not much because they can't possibly sell everything to us. Now the aliens are coming and probably intend to destroy the already difficult trade system as well.

"I'm not saying that all aliens are bad but there are definitely good ones and bad ones too. All of that is uncertain including the aliens who came to our city. We don't know if they are good or not and if they are still here or not. For the first time, this is the most complicated job Professor John has ever given me. Something I'm still figuring out how to start, the difficulty of this part makes it a little frustrating and sad."

Stein smiled, clearly seeing how upset Sicily was. It made him boldly take the girl's hand and grasp it gently, making Sicily slowly close her eyes relaxed because without her realizing that there was positive energy that Stein was putting in her.

"I can see you as a woman who is smart and ingenious in some matters. I'm sure you will succeed in finding and completing this task. But I want to ask, if you managed to catch the alien what would you do?" asked Stein making Sicily open her eyes and look at the handsome face of the man in front of her.

"I don't know, I don't know yet either but one thing is for sure I won't do anything that makes him suffer. You don't understand, I have such intentions but not necessarily others too so I'm between back and forth to find out about the existence of aliens. I'm afraid that if I manage to find it and hand it over to Professor John, he will abuse what I gave him. I don't know what to do in the future."

Stein tried to calm Sicily's heart in order to read this woman's clear mind. It turned out to be true, not only from the words she spoke about it but also from the thoughts and also the language of her heart that she spoke in her chest.

Stein felt that her strength and body seemed to be recovering again so she was able to read Sicily's thoughts if during these few days everything still felt blurred and unclear.

"Do what makes your heart calm. Finish the job and you can move on without feeling pressured by anything, Sicily. But if you are still unable to do so, you can ask your professor for a dismissal. He can't possibly refuse because you don't feel up to it, right? There are many ways and you don't have to worry about yourself so much that you can't be happy."
