Chapter 23
UNEDITED
Sabrina said her goodbyes to her mother before she left for work, then glances at her phone for the time. She had 7 minutes until 2:30.
When she opened the front door the limo was already waiting for her. She checks the house making sure she cut off all the lights and lock the bottom and top lock.
It takes 15 minutes to arrive at the airport. The limo driver passed right by the drop off section and into a private area where an Alden Enterprise jet was waiting for her.
When the door opens for her, she notices two black SUVs stopped behind the limo. Matter of fact she seen those same vehicles parked outside her old home for the last two weeks.
Was it really necessary to have two trucks full of security?
One man dressed in all black from each vehicle escorted her into the plane. She was seated by the flight attendant who seems to have a permanent smile.
The flight gave her a chance to think about her mother's advice. Maybe she should just accept the way her life turned out. Maybe she should give her marriage a chance. Really give it the test of time. Maybe she shouldn't expect so much from him.
He was offering her a real faithful marriage. She is in love with him, and maybe he could fall in love with her one day.
More than any logical thought she wanted him and could hardly fight it anymore.
A few hours later they arrive safely. When she exits the plane, there's a limo and two SUVs waiting.
When she arrives home, she was greeted by Ned.
She was on her way to her room when she hears. "Auntie Sabrina!" Dylan screams in joy and runs to her. Alyssa and Emmie aren't too far away from hearing Dylan.
She hugs all three of them holding on a little longer than normal
Clarissa comes out of her room. "Hey!" She comes over and kisses Sabrina on the cheek. They weren't able to give each other a hug with all three kids still latched onto Sabrina's legs.
"Where's Uncle Nathan?" Alyssa asks.
"He's said he'll be home tonight."
"Yay!" All three kids start to hug each other. They must have really missed their uncle.
"Can we sleep with you tonight?" Alyssa asks excitedly.
"No, no, no." Clarissa's voice is stern. "In your own beds tonight."
"Hey, I have an idea. Why don't we watch a movie together?" Sabrina wanted to spend some time with them. She's grown to love them very much.
They all cuddled up close and put on a kid's movie. She takes her phone from the nightstand and texts Nathan.
"Are you on your way?" -Sent.
The movie finishes and Clarissa comes and gets the children and when she looks at her phone no text from Nathan. That's was a little out of the ordinary for Nathan. So, she calls.
His phone goes straight to voicemail. She hits the end button and pulls out a book to distract herself. Half an hour into it, she calls again. It goes to voicemail again.
She decides to leave a voicemail. "Nathan it's Sabrina. I am a little worried. You said you would be home by now. Can you call me please?" As she ends the call she decides on a late shower.
She plops herself on the bed in leopard pajamas and tries to fall asleep. Discovering that she can't, she grabs her phone. "Hello. Elroy."
"Yes, ma'am."
"Do you know of Nathan's whereabouts?"
"No ma'am, but I can find out if you'd like."
"Could you do that for me please?"
"Yes, ma'am."
She hangs up and waits for an impatient for 9 minutes.
Her phone rings "Hello."
"Yes, ma'am. His flight had to take an emergency landing because of a storm, but he's in the air now, and on his way again."
Relief washes over her "Thank you, Elroy." She hangs up the phone, lays in her bed, and falls asleep quickly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
Sabrina was barely awake feeling soft kisses on her neck and shoulder. Nathan's arms draped around her waist and his open hand on her flat stomach. The hot skin of his chest connects with her back.
He raises her shirt almost all the way up. Her stomach and back open to his rubbing hands. He gently pulls her closer and inhales deeply.
She unintentionally breaths in his scent. A moan escapes her lips as she snuggles closer. His hands tighten and he quickly lays her down on her back and hovers over her. "I'm glad you're awake." He whispers.
"Hmm." She moans.
He takes each of her hands and holds them down. He then moves to her kiss her neck and behind her ears. "I've missed you." He kisses her jaw. "I know I've woken you, and I'm sorry but, I can't help myself." He mumbles on her skin.
With her mothers' words ringing in her head she lets go. She didn't want to fight him. She wanted him. Maybe they can grow into more than just physical intimacy. Maybe he could love her. Maybe
"Let me make love to you Sabrina." He breathes huskily.
"Let go of my hands." She demands.
Reluctantly he releases her.
She instantly grabs fists full of his hair and pulls him to her waiting mouth. She wanted to feel him and enjoy his body. It was frustrating wanting to touch so bad when he wouldn't let her. She removes one of her hands from his hair and runs it slowly down his back, then around his waist. His abs are one of her favorite things about him. Ever since their honeymoon, she has wanted to feel them. She runs her soft palm along the ridges on his abdomen.
"Sabrina." He groans and kneels up quickly. He takes her hand and kisses her palm, and shakes his head.
"Do you hate it when I touch you?" She whispers.
"No." He inches her pants off. "Your touch is the only one I like."
"Then why do you push me away?"
Letting out a deep slow breath, Nathan rubs the back of his neck showing his uncomfortableness. "You make me lose control." He pauses. "And I'm not used to that." He leans down trying to silence her with a kiss.
She moves her head giving him access to her neck only. He gladly takes it kissing her as much as he can.
"I don't understand. How do I do that?"
"It's just you. It's the thought of you. Knowing it's you. You Sabrina." He grabs her jaw and turns her head taking what he wanted, giving her no chance to question him again.
The next morning she woke where she knew she fell asleep, on Nathan's chest. She couldn't believe how comfortable she felt. Like she belonged there. Like this place under his arm was made specifically for her.
"Good morning sweetheart." He kisses her forehead gently. "I'm sorry."
She meets his eyes and squints up at him confusingly.
He swallows and touches two places with his fingers.
Her eyes get wide realizing it was hickeys. "Couldn't you eat on the plane?" She jokes.
He smiles. "My hunger is for you. Nothing else will do. He kisses her softly while rolling her on her back. "Give me a moment." He excused himself before going into the bathroom.
Sabrina closes her eyes in her moment alone. She begins remembering last night. He brought her to climax numerous times, she couldn't keep track. He was loving, caring, and tender, towards her. She was really glad that her first time was with him. He cherished her body. She takes a deep whiff of the smell of the white sheets. It smelled like Nathan. The scent was intoxicating. Her eyes roll back in her head.. Then suddenly the opening of the bathroom door startles her.
Nathan approaches with a bowl of hot water and a hand towel. "Sit up." He orders.
She does as he asks as he soaks the hand towel in water and presses it lightly on her neck. "I've read this will dissipate the blood clots."
"It's ok Nathan." She puts her hand on his, not looking away from his soft gaze. He was looking at her differently today. She noticed a look in his eyes that's was unrecognizable.
He continues to place the heated towel on her neck for a few minutes. When the water got cool, she excuses herself to the bathroom. As she brushes her teeth and looks into the mirror, she notices the hickeys.
It makes her blush to herself. They were not as dark as the two he put on her before which shows he did try not to give her any.
When she exits the bathroom, Nathan is on the phone. He's still wearing his boxers and his back was facing her. He hangs up the phone and looks at her with furrowed brows.
"You were worried about me?"
She forgot about the voicemail. "You told me you would be home a few hours after me. If you don't mind." She puts her hand on her hips.
"Could you call me the next time your plane has to have an emergency landing."
As she speaks Nathan slowly closes the distance between them. His eyes search for her intently. He puts a hand on her jaw and leans in. He kisses her softly. "Come and shower with me." He whispers before pulling a dazed Sabrina into the bathroom. They had a steamy make-out session before he had to go to the office.
When he leaves, she goes into the closet where the still packed suitcase sits. She digs through it looking for the presents she bought for the children. Her eyes land on the envelope her mother gave to her. She completely forgot about it. She had every intention of giving it to Nathan with hopes he will see it as his freedom. A sudden feeling of dread settles in her stomach. She really hoped he would destroy it and they could be together because they want to.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sabrina was reading when Nathan enters. He asks the kids politely to play in a different room, then practically pounces on her when the door closes. He kisses her lips first, and then cheeks, nose, forehead. "I would like to ask you something." He states.
"What is it?"
"Would you like to live in a house with just me?" He takes one of her hands and kisses the back.
"Before I answer that. Can I give you anything?" He had to know that he had a choice.
She pushes on his chest wanting to get up.
He doesn't budge.
"Can I go and get it? " She smiles.
"You have a present for me?" He shifts his position so she could get off the bed.
That annoying feeling of dread hits her again. She brings back the envelope and sits on the bed near him. Nathan's eyebrows decline. His jaw starts to tick. He snatches it away and scans the document.
"Destroy it." Sabrina voices.
Nathan rakes his finger through his hair. "This changes nothing Sabrina." He greets his teeth. "What kind of game are you playing? If you want out of this marriage, bring me the information you have on my father." He gets off the bed. " What is that exactly?" He adds while glaring at her suspiciously.
Sabrina was frozen. Him saying all it took was a lousy piece of paper to drop her was like she the wind knocked out of her. "It's the first design created for your airplane engines." She states with the least amount of emotion she can.
"Why would that make my father sell his son?" He asks with slight twice in his lip.
Sabrina swallows hard and forces herself not to show the hurt in her eyes. "Because my father designed it. It was the first sketch he did." She nervously curves hair behind her ear. "My mother told me, it has your father's signature along with the agreement they made."
"You're a fucking liar." He hisses. "Prove it. Where's this piece of paper?"
She was taken back for a moment but shakes it off and didn't respond to the insult.
She watched him suddenly start pacing the room. His temper through the roof. He seemed like a different person just a few minutes ago.
"I don't know where it is. I've tried looking for it."
"When you bring me that. I will divorce you." He rubs his neck. "If you think I'm going to trust you not to have another copy of this!" He throws the contract in the air. "You're out of your goddamn mind!" He storms out making her flinch at the slamming of the door.
