Chapter 27. Meeting Tom

"Where's Tom?" whispered Rose when she stepped into the palace. Nathaniel took Rose in his arms while sneaking up on her.


Don't let Arcyl know!


"I don't know, it looks like it's in his room, Rose. But we can't now go to Tom's room. Arcyl's sense of smell is very sharp, he can find out where you are quickly if you are still reckless to meet Tom right now," explained Nathaniel.


Indeed, Tom's room passed Arcyl's throne from the front. Like it or not, they had to wait for Arcyl to leave their shelter or turn around to find another way. But it's very dangerous too, the bodyguards here will always be on guard.

"Claire, how come you're here again?" asked Nathaniel confusedly when Claire was back at the palace.


As far as he remembered, Claire had been taken to a safe place, there was no way Arcyl could reach her. Moreover, Arcyl didn't target the woman.


Claire didn't answer, the woman remained focused on her steps along the road. Until it reaches the kitchen. "Claire, you haven't answered my question," Nathaniel said again when he didn't get an answer from the woman.


Since earlier Rose had only been silent listening to the conversation between the two people, Rose didn't want to interfere either, her goal was to meet her husband.


"I have no other purpose, that's why I came back here again," explained Claire plainly.

"It's up to you, how to meet Tom? Rose misses her husband very much,” said Nathaniel.

Suddenly, Claire felt pain and tightness in her chest. How come? Who doesn't get sick when you have to be good friends with the wife of someone you love?

She felt like she wanted to be Rose just for a little while so that Tom would see her. But never mind, nothing can be expected except to accept this very painful destiny.


Claire also doesn't want to be careless by taking or even trying to destroy Tom's household. Seeing Tom happy, Claire would also try to be happy.

Maybe after this, he will go away from Tom. Being close to Tom and Rose made him helpless with this troublesome feeling.

"Calm yourself, we still have long enough to wait for Arcyl to return to the room to rest," Regina muttered.

Claire also pulled a chair for Rose, Claire tried to smile at her best friend even though it was very hard. "Please sit here first, Rose," said Claire.


Rose returned Claire's sincere smile, even though Rose had a feeling that was bothering her. 1 year when she was held captive, Claire expressed her feelings to Rose that she loved her husband. This made Rose a little nervous.


"Where's Mrs. Regina?" asked Nathaniel because he had not found Tom's mother since entering the palace. Usually, the women would be employed in the kitchen or the palace as maids. "I don't know, Arcyl just moved Mrs. Regina where she can no longer see me," explained Claire.


"How can it be?" asked a curious Rose. Earlier, the woman had only been listening to the conversation between the two people in front of her, but because her curiosity had reached its limit, even when it came to Tom's parents, Rose immediately showed it to Claire.


"I don't know, it seems Arcyl knows I want to help Tom and Regina's mother to get away from here," answered Claire.

“Then is this place safe? How could anyone else see us?” she asked again.


“Yes, all have rested and some are hunting. Only a few are working in the background. So that's why I told Millie to tell you if you want to go to the palace, it's better to be up at 10 pm and not until 6 am. Some of them of course have come back from hunting and the guards and servants are back to their jobs.”


Rose nodded in understanding. Then just Millie and Nathaniel came to his house at 10 pm. "So all this time Millie has been getting information about Megana from you?" asked Nathaniel guessing.


"Obviously, who else? I often met him at the border. He's looking for information about Megana, so I'm happy to tell him clearly,” Claire replied with a smile.


“Did Millie not tell you? I also took care of Millie to hide this," he continued


"Why?" asked Nathaniel confused.


"Are you stupid or what? Of course, I don't want Arcyl to know. The news spread fast like the wind. If Millie says it to you then you talk to someone else, who knows?”


"You don't trust me?" asked Nathaniel in disbelief when he heard Regina's words.


"No, just as a precaution. I still want to live,” Claire replied.


Nathaniel just chuckled in annoyance while listening to Claire's answer. He thought Millie had a relationship with other people in the palace.


"Have I been able to meet Tom?" asked Rose nervously.


She had missed Tom so much and wanted to make sure of her husband's condition, of course. Claire let out a tired breath and then the woman got up from her seat. "You guys wait here first, let me arrange everything. It looks like it's safe, but I'll make sure again," said Claire.


After getting answers from Nathaniel and Rose, the woman immediately walked away.


"Calm yourself, Rose. Tom will be fine,” Nathaniel said trying to calm his best friend's wife when Nathaniel caught Rose's agitated face.
Rose just stared at Nathaniel without answering anything. After all, who can be calm in a situation like this?

Not a few minutes later, Claire came to Nathaniel and Rose in the kitchen. "I've met Tom. And the situation is safe, come follow me,” said Claire.


Rose quickly stood up from her seat and approached Claire. "Where's Tom?" She asked.


“Just follow me, and I will escort you”


Nathaniel just stared at the two women walking away, he wanted to do something before meeting Tom.

Tom, who heard the voice that he missed so much, immediately looked for the source of the sound. And sure enough, Rose was standing not far from him with Claire beside her. Did Claire prove what she said that she would bring Rose to the palace?


"Rose" Tom said with a happy smile.


Rose immediately trotted over to Tom's pale body and fell into her husband's arms. "I miss you so much, Rose," Tom said while tightening his hug.


After his hug was released, Tom kept giving short kisses all over his wife's face. Claire who saw that immediately turned her face in all directions. Wherever! Just don't stare at these two people.


"What's wrong with you, Tom? You are very pale”


"Not again, my medicine is here," Tom said while kissing Rose's lips.


"I want you," continued Tom again. Of course, Rose who heard the words of the willful rolled her eyes in disbelief. What does her husband mean?!


"Tom, bag-"


"I will recover, honey. You are my medicine. I want you," Tom said cutting off Rose's words.


Rose could only obey Tom's words. Claire, the woman took Tom and Rose to a large room. With hesitation, Rose entered the room, and Tom quickly closed the door. "Tom, are you sure?" Rose asked hesitantly when Tom had opened the shirt he was wearing.


“Of course. You are my life, Rosem”


Rose just closed her eyes when she felt Tom's lips pressed right against hers.


After their hot activity for about 1 hour, Tom's pale face was no longer visible. Now only the happy face that Rose can see. Rose herself was still confused by this situation.


Had her husband lied to her?


"Are you still tired?" he asked. Rose just shook her head in response.


"We have to get out of here before Arcyl wakes up again."


"Tom, how about you? You're still sick, Tom!” Rose warned firmly.


“No, how many times have I told you? That you are my life, Rose. I can heal quickly just because of you."


Rose turned her blushing face, her cheeks suddenly felt hot.


"Get ready, we will get out of here!"


Not long after, Tom came back out of the room to meet Claire and Nathaniel, and of course, looking for his mother to get out of there. But already 1 hour they went around and did not find Regina. Like it or not, Tom has to go back with Rose and Nathaniel alone.

If you have to look for his mother the time will not be enough.


Tom also has his strength back, the man blindly brutalizes the guards who block him. They fought each other long enough until Tom and Nathaniel finally managed to knock them all out. "You don't what, honey? We have to go back. I miss Leo so much,” Tom said while holding his wife's hand tightly.
