Chapter 31. Failed Again

In the battle, Tom tried hard to beat Arcyl. However, he still can't because his strength is not big enough to beat Arcyl. But, Tom still tries so he can win over Arcyl, even though he has to lose many times.


"Never mind, Tom. You better give up, aren't you tired? Attack and lose, that's all," asked Arcyl.


Tom ignored Arcyl's words, he continued to attack Arcyl. Until, without knowing it, Arcyl was holding a knife in his hand, preparing to injure Tom.


When Arcyl wanted to stab Tom's stomach. Suddenly Nathaniel kicked the knife and it fell.


Suddenly Arcyl looked at Nathaniel with hostility, because he had thwarted his plan to hurt Tom.


"Tom, be careful," whispered Nathaniel before he returned to attack Arcyl's men.


Tom nodded. Earlier Tom was surprised to see the knife that fell from Arcyl's hand, but he was relieved because the knife didn't penetrate his stomach.


They continued to fight ferociously. Until Tom and Nathaniel get tired because their strength is not comparable. It was certain they would lose again.


Tom's body was slammed by Arcyl. Meanwhile, Nathaniel could not help Tom, because Nathaniel himself was already weak due to attacks from Arcyl's men.


Arcyl looked at Tom with his terrible smile. "I told you, Tom. Give up, because my strength is greater than yours," snapped Arcyl.


Tom held his aching chest. Nathaniel approached Tom and helped him when he had fought all of Arcyl's men.


"Let's go," asked Nathaniel.



They wanted to go with Nathaniel who supported Tom. However, Arcyl stood in their way.


Of course, Arcyl wouldn't just let them go.


Nathaniel released Tom, he countered Arcyl's attack. Arcyl attacked him passionately, Nathaniel hit Arcyl's stomach without warning until Arcyl fell.


Seeing that there was a gap to leave, Nathaniel immediately took Tom away.


"Arghhh..... Damn it!" Arcyl cursed groaning.


Meanwhile, Nathaniel is now supporting Tom, taking him to his house.


"Rose!" shouted Nathaniel calling Rose.


"Tom!"


Rose screamed, Rose was surprised to see her husband's condition, which was far from well.


"How could it be like this?" Rose said in a panic tone. She helped Nathaniel to bring Tom to his room.


"You know Rose, Arcyl's strength is bigger than us," Nathaniel answered after helping Tom lay down on the bed.


"Fortunately we can still run, just to run Arcyl still attacks us. I don't know what if we can't run away from Arcyl," continued Nathaniel.


"Yeah, I'll go first, okay?" bye Nathaniel.


She nodded. "Thanks for helping Tom, Nathaniel."


"It doesn't matter, that's what a friend is for."


After Nathaniel left. Rose went to the kitchen to put pressure on Tom's wound.


"Where's your promise? You said you won't get hurt and come home fine," Rose said looking at Tom with a sad look.


Tom looked at Rose, holding Rose's hand who was treating him. "I'm okay, after all, I'm here," said Tom with a smile.


"And, where is there anyone who comes home from battle all right with no injuries?" he continued.


Rose looked at Tom indignantly. She squeezed Tom's wound hard. "Then don't fight!" Rose hissed.


"Akhhh, why are you so happy to make me hurt?" Tom groaned as he felt a pain in his stomach.

"It wasn't me who made you hurt, but you who made the wound on your body. I told you, didn't I? Stop attacking and countering Arcyl's attack, we just need to dodge."


Instead of listening to every word Rose said, Tom looked at Rose's nagging face with a smile.


Not hearing Tom's answer, Rose turned to face Tom. She found Tom who was smiling while looking at her.


Rose scooped Tom's face roughly. "Stop daydreaming. Didn't you listen to what I said?" asked Rose angrily.


Right now Rose was annoyed with Tom.


"Why are you so happy to be angry? Even though I just looked at you smiling and listened to what you said well."


"I promise, I will not fight with Arcyl again. I'm tired, Nathaniel must be tired too. I will live my life like a human being with you and Leo,” said Tom.


He gave in to Arcyl, not that he didn't care about those who were tormented by Arcyl. But, Tom is tired of Arcyl keeps bothering him and his family. If he doesn't stop, how can he and his family live in peace without being disturbed by attacks from Arcyl?


“That's a good choice. You should have decided like this long ago, so we can live in peace,” said Rose with relief. After this, they can be sure that they will live in peace.


Tom pulled his body to sit, with his eyes still looking at Rose with a smile.


"Why are you so beautiful?" he asked.


Unknowingly, Tom's words embarrassed Rose, and even her cheeks turned red.


"Have you just realized that you have a beautiful wife?"


He chuckled. "I'm sober every day. However, you are prettier this time for nagging me." Tom replied holding Rose's cheek.


"And your treatment today looks very sweet, do you want something?" she asked.


"Gosh. You thought if I wanted something I'd be cute, you know?" asked Tom confused with his wife.


She nodded. "Yes, I see."


"No, I'm not that kind of you."


Rose looked at Tom angrily. "Like what do you mean, Tom?" asked Rose angrily. Tom sucks.


When Tom was about to answer, Leo woke up from his sleep and cried while mentioning his mother. Making Rose get out of bed to calm Leo.


Tom breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks, Leo. You saved Dad."


Day has turned to night. The sun has done its job, and now comes the moon which will do its job to illuminate and keep us sleeping soundly.


"Daddy!" shouted Leo in his cute voice when he saw Tom appear behind the bedroom door.


Tom took a step toward Leo. He kissed his son's forehead. "Leo is playing what? Can you come to play with Leo?” Tom asked making Leo nod enthusiastically.


Tom chuckled, he looked at Rose who was beside Leo. "Look, Rose. He's just like you, so adorable," said Tom.


"What are you talking about, anyway?" Rose replied holding a smile on her lips. Today for some reason Tom is very behaving and behaving very sweetly.


"Now, don't invite Leo to play again. It's already late," said Rose.


Tom frowned confused. "It's still 8 o'clock, not too late. Leo wants to play with me too, don't you think Leo?” Tom asked Leo.


Leo looked at Tom, he just nodded his head.


Rose sighed. "Yes yes yes, it's up to you." Rose got up from the bed.


However, Tom held Rose's hand and pulled her until Rose sat back down on the bed. "What is it?" she asked.


“Where are you going? Just stay here, accompany me and Leo to play for a while then we'll sleep together.” Tom's orders were immediately obeyed by Rose.

Rose was silent, sitting on the bed watching Tom and Leo play. Now and then Leo laughed because of Tom's pranks. His heart warmed seeing the interaction between the two of them.


Rose remembered the first time she met Tom until they had Leo and got to this point. It's not easy for their marriage to struggle to get to this point. They have to go through the twists and turns of life that always come.


Rose is happy to be able to go through everything with Tom and Leo. Yes, even up to this point Rose wasn't sure that Arcyl would stop bothering her, even though Tom said he didn't care about Arcyl anymore.


In the end, everything that looks difficult will be easy when she goes through it with effort and is accompanied by the people he loves. And, everything that is easy will be difficult when you go through it without effort.


Rose flinched when Tom tapped her on the shoulder. "Why?" she asked.


“I should be the one asking you, why are you daydreaming? I called you many times, but you just kept quiet. Don't answer, just turn around. Your eyes keep looking ahead,“ explained Tom.


“Ah, sorry. I didn't hear him earlier, why did you call me?” she asked.


Tom looked at Rose closely. Actually, what was Rose thinking that she didn't hear her call?


If Tom had the power to read people's minds, maybe Tom would know what Rose was thinking that made him daydream.


"I want to take you to sleep. Look, Leo is already asleep,” answered Tom.


Rose turned her gaze towards Leo. And sure enough, Leo had fallen asleep with his toys still around him.


"I'll clean up Leo's toys for a while, you justify Leo's position so he sleeps well," Rose said.


Rose's hand moved to pick up Leo's scattered toys and tidy them up again. When finished, Rose also lay down on the bed.


“Rose, I don't know what you were thinking just now. But I hope it doesn't weigh you down," said Tom suddenly.


It turned out that Tom had not forgotten the matter earlier. Even though he daydreamed just remembering his efforts with Tom to get to this point. However, Tom thought as if he had a serious problem that made him daydream.


"It's nothing, Tom. I'm daydreaming not thinking about a serious problem, after all, I don't have a serious problem. I just think about how our business used to be, from the first time we met, then got married and got to this point,” Rose explained.


Tom's heart warmed. He exhaled, he thought there was something that burdened Rose or even Rose was disturbed by Arcyl. However, Rose did not want to complain about it to him.


"I thought you were thinking heavy things. If anything happens, you can report it to me,” Reply Tom.


She nodded. Of course, she would complain about all the problems to Tom, if not Tom to whom he complained, then who else? Tom is the one who always helps her when she has a problem.


"Of course, I will complain to you."


Tom smiled at that. He stroked Rose's hair, then kissed Rose's forehead. "Then sleep. I will take care of you," he said.


They sleep together, accompanied by the moon who watches all their efforts and results come here. Now soon they will head to the abyss that will make them very happy.


Now it doesn't feel like Leo is already 5 years old. Even Leo has entered school because Leo is a smart kid.


"You were the one who was wrong first!" Leo said with emotion to his friend.


Lucas, Leo's friend pointed at Leo's face. "You are in the wrong, not me!" he screamed.


Because he was annoyed with Lucas, Leo pushed Lucas so that his head hit the chair and he bled. His classmates looked at Leo fearfully.
