CHAPTER 25
He went to his class where he found his friends all there and Brian seemed to be in a daze.
“What happened to him?” Harvey asked Owen who laughed out loud.
“I screwed up big time. I don’t think he will ever talk to me again,” Brian said.
“So, how did you screw up?” he asked Brian.
“So, yesterday I was home when Jack called me. I was so happy I went out to see him and we drank together,” Brian said but he could tell that there was something huge.
“So, did you confess your feelings and got dumped?” Harvey asked.
“It didn’t happen like that exactly. You see he got drunk and he was just cute I couldn’t help myself,” Brian said in a low note and he guessed what his friend did and he found himself laughing too.
“You mustn’t do this to me too,” Brian complained.
“Dude, did you sleep with him?”
“I did and it was wonderful. In the morning he gave me this weird look and I knew that I was screwed so I confessed my feelings to him.”
“And what happened after that?”
“He slapped me two times on the face and got out of bed and left,” Brian said.
“That’s a bit scary. You really messed up big time. So did you see him this morning at school?”
“I wish I could but I have no idea where those people are hiding. I can’t even find one of them,” Brian said and that made him wonder if his sister and her friends were planning something.
“Now that you said that, I can’t find Ruby too. Something happened and I don’t know how to fix it,” Harvey said and draw the attention of his friends.
“Dude, among all the people, your sister scares me. I guess my problem is little compared to yours. What did you do exactly?” Brian asked.
Harvey narrated his story to his friends and this time they laughed at him.
“Man, you are screwed. I didn’t think I want to see Ruby’s face today. I bet she can swallow you with one glance,” Owen joked.
“I know right. I just wish to see her face and talk to her and pray she won’t stay mad for long,” Harvey said.
“How about you buy her some flowers and a basket of chocolates? Women like that, whenever my baby is sad, I just do that,” Owen said.
“That is a good idea. I will do that,” Harvey said and took out his phone.
He would crawl; beg for forgiveness until she gives him a smile. There was no way he was going to lose her after he just got together with her.
Ruby couldn’t stop laughing at all, she had forgotten about everything that was troubling her. She stomped on the cigarette she was smoking and looked at Jack who was burning with anger. She had never seen him that furious before.
“How can you slap him like that? He likes you and it’s not a secret,” Ruby asked.
“Even if he did like me, why did he take advantage of me when I was drunk?” Jack asked.
“You are the one to blame. How can you call him at night so that you may drink? You brought this upon yourself. If you wanted a drink, why didn’t you call us?” Nancy attacked Jack and he became speechless.
“A part of you have feelings for him and you just find it very difficult to accept them since you are both guys. I think you should just listen to him and hear what he has to say,” Alex said.
“I think you should, you never know he might love you and make you forget about all the heartbreaks you suffered in those women’s hands,” Ruby said as she smoked another cigarette.
“I will think about it but Ruby why do you keep on smoking today? Who made you angry?” Jack changed the issue in an instant.
“My dear parents arranged Harvey’s marriage yesterday,” she said it.
“What?” Alex asked his voice full of shock.
“They did and Helen was so happy about it that I wanted to choke her but I couldn’t,” Ruby confessed and Nancy laughed.
“She was a real mess yesterday. Just let her smoke and take it out on the cigarettes.”
“So have you spoken to Harvey yet?”
“I haven’t. I can’t look at him now. I just want to stay as far away as possible from him for now or else I won’t be able to hold myself back,” Ruby said.
“You need to calm down first or else you will say things that you will regret.”
The four of them were laughing and talking when Ruby’s secretary suddenly showed up where they were.
“What are you doing here?” she asked her.
“I just received these packages for you and I thought it would be wise for me to bring them to you,” she said and they all saw a group of kids coming holding flowers and baskets.
“What is going on?” she asked.
“We received these for you and Jack,” she said.
Ruby looked at Jack and then at her secretary. She took her flowers and she inhaled that lovely scent. They were her favorite flowers and there was only one culprit that could have sent them to her. She took out the card inside and read the message.
“I’m sorry, please talk to me and I will explain. Xoxo.”
