CHAPTER 41

The two of them left her office and took a walk towards the restaurant that was just near the campus. It felt good walking with him especially fully knowing that she was done for the semester.
She could see a lot of eyes staring at her as she walked with Harvey but she knew all they were doing was just envying her. No one except her friends and Harvey’s knew that the two of them were dating.
Everyone just knew that they were siblings and were so eager to attract Harvey’s attention but too bad his eyes were all on her.
“When you leave school, I will definitely be lonely,” Harvey said as the two of them walked to the restaurant.
“Why do you say so?” she asked him.
“I was used to seeing your face at school at the time but soon you will be done. Seeing you at home only will be a problem,” he confessed.
“It’s better than not seeing each other at all. You know Helen came to see me this other day,” Ruby said.
“What did she want?”
“She came to warn me to leave you alone and I think Janet might have been the cause of it,” she said.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“I can handle myself and besides she got what she deserved.”
“I can imagine, I’m sorry about that. I will talk to Janet and Helen. Don’t stress over it so much.”
“I won’t. I just don’t want to keep quarrelling. Even if she doesn’t like me. She is still my sister and that won’t change,” she said as she stooped.
Harvey opened the door for her and she entered the restaurant.
“Welcome,” the waitress said as the entered inside.
Harvey led her to one of the empty tables where he pulled out a chair for her and she made herself comfortable. Harvey sat opposite her afterwards and the waitress joined them.
“What would you like to order?” she asked them.
Ruby looked at Harvey and smiled at him.
“You choose,” she said giving him allowance to surprise her.
“If you say so,” he said and took the menu from the waitress’s hands.
Harvey surveyed the menu for a while before he chose two different meal sets.
“Is it wise?” she asked.
“Trust me, it is. If you get bored with yours then you will just have mine,” he said.
“I love the sound of that.”
He looked at her for a while and she found herself looking down, she was feeling a bit shy especially with the way he was looking at her in public.
“I never thought you can be shy,” he smirked at her and she lifted her head.
“Anyone can be especially after all that staring.”
“I can’t help myself, you are just so beautiful,” he said with a smile.
“We are in public, refrain yourself,” she warned.
“I don’t care about that. I couldn’t see you for these past weeks because of exams and now I can do that. So please don’t stop me,” he said and she felt her heart flutter.
“I know but just reduce the staring, okay,” she pleaded with him.
“If you say so then I will comply. I have a matter I want to discuss with you,” he said and she looked at him.
“What could it be?” she asked.
“It’s about the vacation. This semester had been very stressful and I was thinking that my gang and yours can go somewhere where we can have some fun and all that. What do you think?”
“I have been thinking the same thing too. You know Nancy’s boyfriend. He recently opened a resort and he wanted us to come and see it. We can all go there and have some fun,” she suggested.
“It’s a good idea, I will talk to the boys and we can all meet up later when everyone is free and discuss the details.”
“Yes, we should do that,” she said and saw the waitress approaching with the trays full of food.
She was starving, the exam had drained all her food and she was glad that Harvey was considerate and always thinks about her in all matters. The food was put in front of them and she picked up her fork and knife and dug into the fried rice that was begging her to be eaten.
Harvey had chosen pasta and she didn’t mind at all. They continuously shared their food during the course and by the time they finished eating, she was full and her energy was restored.
While having a cup of coffee, her phone rang and she picked it up.
“Nancy, are you done with your exam?” she asked over the phone.
“Yes, I am. I am looking for you. Where are you?”
“I was just having lunch with Harvey. We are at the restaurants bay,” she told Nancy.
“Okay, I will meet you there in five,” Nancy said.
“Okay. Are the boys with you?”
“Yes, I will come with them.”
“Not a problem, I will be waiting,” she said and hung up on the call.
“They are done with their exams?” Harvey asked her.
“Yes, they are,” she said with a smile.
