CHAPTER 42

Finally, all of her friends were done with exams; they could now just enjoy their time and wait for the next semester to arrive.
“It seems our date will be cut short,” Harvey complained.
“Don’t behave like a baby. We have a lot of time ahead of us,” she told him as she placed her hand on top of his.
He grabbed it and held it on top of the table and for the first time, she didn’t mind about what anyone would say if they see how intimate they were at the moment.
“That’s true, I will have you all to myself pretty soon,” he said with a grin.
“I can’t wait for that,” she said with a smile too.
They looked at each other for a while, drinking their coffee before their moment was interrupted by Ruby’s friends.
“I’m getting goose bumps; do you have to show how good things are between you in public like this?” Jack asked as he sat down.
“We can’t help it. How was the exam?” Ruby asked as her friends sat at the table.
“It was okay and yours?” Alex replied.
“It was magical. It’s a good thing you guys are here. We were talking about vacation,” Ruby informed her friends.
“Is it finalized yet?” Jack asked.
“Instead of going just us, how about we let Harvey and his friends join too?” Ruby asked and looked at her friends.
“It’s not a problem, the plenty the merrier,” Nancy said agreeing.
“Everyone will be going there with their partners, what do you think will happen to me?” Alex asked.
“Then find someone to tag along if you don’t want to be lonely,” Jack said and they all started laughing.
“I can’t believe that you are doing this to me. Is it because that kid got your heart now you are throwing away your best friend?” Alex asked Jack who hit him on the shoulder and Jack yelled.
“You deserve that for spouting nonsense. He hasn’t stolen my heart yet. He is a player and I don’t trust him yet,” Jack answered.
“Is that why you sleep with him almost all the time?” Nancy asked holding out her laugh.
“Who said I was sleeping with him?” Jack asked shocked.
“You are glooming a lot, Jack. Things must be pretty good for you,” Ruby cut in and she saw Harvey holding his laugh.
“Why are you laughing? Is it because we are talking about your friend?” Alex asked.
“It’s not that really. I’m just surprised that you guys have a moment like this. I would never think that you are capable of doing this at all,” Harvey said.
“What do you think we will be doing all the time? Our bullying times are over,” Nancy cut in and they all laughed.
“Cut the kid some slack Nancy. How about we all meet later tonight for dinner and talk things out about the vacation,” Alex suggested.
“Yes, let’s do that and celebrate the end of exams. So where are we meeting?” Jack asked.
“I know a place, it’s quite and nice,” Ruby said.
“Okay, just make the reservation and send the address,” Nancy said.
“I will.”
Nancy checked her phone and looked at them all.
“Sorry guys but I have to go. Liam is here to pick me up. I will see you at dinner,” Nancy said and they all nodded.
“Okay, later then,” she said and watched as her friend left.
They had coffee and talked for more thirty minutes before the all dispersed once again.
“It’s the two of us once again,” Harvey said with a smile.
“Indeed, it is and I’m tired of sitting here. Let’s return to my office,” Ruby said as she stood up.
“Sure, let’s do that and you can give me a tour,” he smiled at her.
“I will surely kill you for that,” she said as she left the restaurant.
“You can never do that. You will be too lonely after doing that,” he said as he nudged her.
“I can always find someone to replace you,” she said smirking at him.
“I can’t believe you just said those words. I have to do something about it,” he said and grabbed her hand.
“What are you going to do?” she asked him.
“You will see that soon,” he said and suddenly began to sprint.
She could feel her heart thumping out loudly. She had no idea what he was up to but whatever it was, she was ready for it. She ran behind him and followed him like a puppy back to her office.
