A dream
She kept panting, exchanging glances with the intruders in the room, she looked around the black walls of the prison cell she had been introduced to, she was back in her room. She grabbed her chest heaving out a heavy breath and calming herself down as her mind drifted off to the dream she had.
"Go and get the beta" Leah ordered Alia once more. Diane moved her hands to her head grabbing her wet hair.
'It was just a dream' she cried out.
'Luke is not here, he's not planning anything stupid' she whispered to herself as she calmed herself down.
She had dreamt of Luke being at the feets of Ian and Ian plunging his deadly claws into his heart, the image of the Ian she saw in her dream flashed through her head.
Long claws, fangs, canines and a deadly mash up of a pair of dark green eyes.
She had no memories of what she had done in Ian's room.
'No' she sobbed.
'He must never come here' she whimpered.
"Are you alright" A maid asked drawing closer to her.
Diane did not reply, she had no idea what was going on, she tried to remember what happened after she left Ian's room but her memories were blank and stopped with her realizing that the doors had been locked, every other thing after that was like a trance, she couldn't remember. So memories flashed through her head but they made no sense.
"The beta is in the Alpha's room" Alia returned after a while with her report.
Diane needed a few minutes to gather her thoughts.
"Leave" she said authoritatively hoping they would comply, hoping they would yield in to her once they saw her desperation.
"But.." Leah was about to counter.
"I'm fine" she deadpanned and Leah lead the maids out leaving only Alia with her. Leah has served in the Alpha's villa since the time of Ian's father and she knew that the presence of a woman in the villa was for a special cause.
"Turn your back against me" she ordered Alia who complied before she buried her head in her knees, tears slowly dripping from her eyes.
"Please don't come here" she muttered.
"I'm fine"
"If the moon goddess can hear my voice please keep him far from here please" her voice was extremely low as she prayed.
"Please" her dress soaked in her tears as she prayed.
She was scared because, she had been taught that dreams were not ordinary and most times they come true.

Ian lied on the bed frowning in his sleep, his temperature was slowly increasing again.
The day had slowly faded into the night but he was yet to wake up from his deep sleep.
Images of his first meeting with Diane flashed through his head, on that day he had been angry with the council for wanting to force on him the decision of getting married and had left to his quiet spot, the end of the boundary, he was with a mask because he was already Alpha and he was trying to avoid the complaints of the people as he walked past them, when he got to the boundary line, he was about to turn back when his eyes caught the sight of something extraordinarily beautiful, something he felt the urge to seize.
He knew he should have turned away the moment he felt that way but instead he found herself going towards her, stepping into the boundary lines he never should have, like a gust of wind he pinned her to a tree just so he could get a clear view of her face.
He had felt their bonding from afar, meeting her up close was just a confirmation, he felt his wolf side threatening to come out, threatening to mark her on the spot, but then her frail and tiny voice came through with a plea.
"Please don't kill me"
And that was it, that was all it took to pour cold water on the fire raging inside him. He left with almost the same speed he had gotten to her with, watching her in shock from afar till he could come back to his senses and push himself far away from that place.
He was so consumed with his bonding he had been willing to marry his mate after all his years of refusal, he had Logan search for her with his descriptions he could give of her but it was almost as if she did not exist, so he gave up.
'It might as well be for the best" he told himself.
A month passed and he forced himself to believe that he had forgotten about her, in fact he had, there was no place for love in the heart of a true king.
The time period for the Annual Alpha parade came and he could not default in the festival, it was a period when the Alpha went through every residence in the pack and the wolves living in those residence came out to show respect for the Alpha.
Ian had grown tired after riding on the horse and was at the verge of ending the ceremony when his eyes caught the sight of the one he had been searching for, her blue eyes were not focused on him but on the beauty of the parade, like she had never seen one before.
Even though he felt he has long gotten over her, he still wanted to know who she was so he drew Logan's attention to her, asking him to gather intel on her.
He had suspected that she could be for the Red moon pack as both pack shared boundary line, regardless he wanted to find out, but seeing her in his pack also provided quite the explanation he was looking for as to why she was at the boundary line.
"Everyone I've asked say that she comes from a distant place and they did not know her until she started living with one Mrs Raez two weeks ago" Logan reported stirring confusion in Ian's mind.
He meet her at the boundary line a month ago and she started living in his pack what? 2 weeks ago?
