Getting Engaged
"Nothing Logan" Lilian smiled but he was not convinced.
"I just wanted to get some fresh air that's all" she continued when she noticed that he didn't look convinced.
"I'm not convinced Lily, your lashes are wet" he said.
"Umm..something got into my eyes and i had to cry it out" she lied.
"The why did you hurry out of the mansion?" He asked.
"Don't lie to me Lilian" he said harshly and Lilian felt herself melting away as she cried, to others she was the ruthless Gamma of the Evergreen pack but before her brother she was weak, helpless.
"You work with Ian is he always this cold?" She asked looking at him with her meek eyes.
"What did he do to you?" Logan asked instead of replying but Lilian did not reply.
"I told you that marrying Ian would not guarantee your happiness Lilian, but you choose to go on"
"I am happy" Lilian deadpanned.
"Then why are you crying on your engagement day?" He asked.
"Tears of Joy?" She asked.
"If you are waiting him to run to you like prince charming I want you to know that he won't"
"I don't expect him too, it's just..today is our engagement i didn't expect him to be so concerned about a report" she said.
"With Ian that's expecting too much" Logan replied.
"I am going to be his wife, not his employee" she said a bit hurt.
"Do you no longer wish to be married?" Logan asked and Lilian dried her eyes.
"This is my dream how can I not wish for it?" She asked.
"Then cheer up" he urged.
"Your makeup has become even worse" he blurted out.
"Do you mean it was bad before?" She asked and he laughed making her to do the same.
"Of course it isn't, my sister always looks the prettiest" he said finally and she chuckled moved by his words.
"Thank you brother" she smiled.
"Are you really OK?" He asked and she nodded in response.
"It must be stupid of me to expect any special treatment from Ian, marrying him already should be a gift of a lifetime" she said.
"But promise me brother.." She paused looking at her brother.
"What" he asked casually.
"When I become Luna you have to protect me" she smiled.
"So the almighty gamma of the evergreen pack cannot protect Herself" he joked with a light smile plastered on his face.
"Enough of the jokes brother" she pleaded.
"If I don't protect you who will?" He asked hugging her tightly.
"Thank you brother"
"Now shall we?" He asked looking in the direction of the mansion before stretching his hand to her, she grasped onto it walking majestically into the villa.
Once they got in Logan took her towards Ian who was talking to his grandfather in a somewhat distressed tone.
"I found your bride" Logan said cutting into their conversation as he placed Lilian hand in Ian's.
"So this is the beautiful woman who has totally destroyed my grandson resolve" Mr Henry sneered stretching out his hand to Lilian who happily took it.
Ian scoffed inwardly at Mr Henry's words.
"I promise you grandpa, that I will support Ian with my life" Lilian smiled as she spoke, the thought of being with Ian made her happy she had almost forgotten the pain he made her feel.
Diane could hear their conversation from the dance floor she had not noticed when she scoffed.
"..did I say something wrong?" Are asked and she nodded no with a smile.
"Did go on with what you were saying" she urged him.
"I am a member of the Nightingale pack" he introduced himself, noticing that she might not had listened to him the first time.
"Ares Clifford"
"The Clifford family isn't that the Nightingale's Alpha family?" she asked.
"True" he replied.
"I am the Alpha of the Nightingale pack" He introduced himself again and Diane paused releasing herself from his grip she bored slightly an action Ian noticed.
"I must be blessed to have a dance with the Alpha of one of the strongest packs in the world" she smiled looking at him.
"Oh please, we are in the Evergreen pack, the strongest pack in the world, my power does not compare" he smiled stretching his hand to take hers again, just then the music changed to a slow song.
"Do you slow dance?" He asked her.
"Any step you wish my Lord" she said, and with a beautiful twirl they continued dancing, his hand wrapped around her lower waist he pushed her closer to himself, and though she felt uncomfortable at that she smiled, Ian could feel anger spur up in him but he did his best to hide it.
Lilian followed his eyesight trail to Diane, but she was ignorant.
"Do you wish to dance?" She asked Ian admist their current conversation with Mr Henry and Logan.
"She is right" Mr Henry butted in.
"Dance with her, you both are the showmen afterall"
Lilian stretched out her hand to her soon to be husband who reluctantly took it and usher her towards the dancefloor.
"You said that you are a member of this pack" Ares said and she nodded, with a change in beat he turned her such that her back was directly on his body, this infuriated Ian who was directly opposite them and could hear their every sentence.
"That what do you seek here?" Ares asked.
"Whatever your grace might be seeking that brought him this far" she smiled.
"I seek a wife" Ares said with a light smile.
"Tell me, have you a mate?" He asked.
"Why? Does your grace wish to court me?" She asked.
"I would not be dancing with you for so long if I had no intention to" he replied.
"I have indeed met my mate" she said with a sad smile.
"That's sad" he said.
"And why is that?" She asked laughing softly, the light did a soft play on her face revealing her beauty in the dim lights.
"Because I cannot marry such a beautiful woman" he said.
"Where is your mate? I would like to see the man who the moon goddess has blessed with such a beauty" he smiled, a smile that contained a lot of emotions.
"He is not here today" she replied.
"Then I must be in luck, if he had seen me with his woman then I might be dead" he said.
"I highly doubt that he would be concerned" she said heaving a breath.
"Why do you say so?" He asked.
"Because my mate is getting engaged"
