Defiling me.
"Mom" Diane called out desperately, eager to hold her mother in her arms once again.
Her voice spake desperation as her teary soul embraced her mother. She looked at her Mom.
"My child" her mother said pitifully.
In truth her mother had seen her leave the house on that fateful night but she made no attempt to stop her, it was her fate after all.
"Who taught you to shed tears?" She asked but Diane just muffled some words.
"And your bruises" she added releasing her child in an attempt to get her medicine for the wound.
"Sit" she ordered after fetching the medicine.
"Aren't you angry?" Diane asked a bit stunned by her mother's lack of surprise.
"I am" her mother replied all to simply.
"Then why aren't you shouting at me? Why aren't you asking me what went wrong? Why aren't you asking me where I've been?" She asked a bit pained.
"I saw a letter of blood in my house, and I also saw you on that night" she answered, cupping her daughter's face in her palm.
"What are you doing here?" She asked rendering Diane thoughtless.
"You got married didn't you?" Her mother said and Diane swallowed hard spit.
"Whatever you did was not wrong child, you saved your own" her mother said.
"Why?" She asked.
"Why did you send me to that pack Mom?" She asked.
"You and Dad made very good attempts in hiding me all my life, he was never going to find me Mom and all you did was lead me right to him" Diane said, at this point, she felt someone needed to be blamed.
"You made no mentions of a mating bond between yourself and another wolf, all I saw was my child who had lost herself, my child who needed to find her escape" her Mom cautioned.
"You act like you know everything how could you not figure this one out?" She asked her mother.
"Maybe because my child looked like she was going to die" her mom deadpanned.
"I have died everyday in that house mom" she replied crying.
"Enough of your crying, I taught you to never show fear, anger or pain" her mom said and she sniffled.
"You are right Mom, Luke is coming for me anyways" she blurted out.
"What?"
"Luke set his foot in the Evergreen pack?" Her Mom asked and Diane thought a bit before nodding.
"Why?" She asked.
"You played the role of a sacrificial lamb, and now you give with one hand while collecting with the other, it's no surprise Rose has visited me with a warning for you" her Mom scolded.
"Rose came here?" Diane asked while her mom recalled the incidence of Rose's visit.
"And let say Luke brings you back what next? You strive with the Luna for her position?" Her mother asked.
"It would be too little to be considered a strive" she replied and her Mom raised her hand up to slap her but stopped midway at her flinching.
"Who has made you so scared?" She asked.
"Who made you so objective?" She questioned again.
"Who has destroyed my daughter's thought and made her so weak minded?" Her mother asked breaking down.
"Mom.." Her voice trailed off.
"Who has destroyed my years of effort?" She asked but Diane was quiet.
"This pack has found it's Luna and as much as you have been misled it is not you and it will never be, it is a woman who weeps every night at how deprived she is of her husband love, she is a woman who you predate on" Her Mom said.
"She is the true example of a broken woman, while you? You are just a woman who refuses to try" she said.
"I pondered for a long time why the Moon goddess took your father from me and sent you right to his enemies" she said.
"But she had a purpose far greater than mortal could think of" she said.
"And what purpose is greater than my life Mom?" Diane asked
"I just want to get away" she wept.
"I can't survive there Mom, I'll die"
"Shush"
"You are a born warrior, I always pondered on the reason of your birth but now I understand.. Your birth will bring peace to the werewolves" her Mom smiled while she frowned, lost.
"Wipe your eyes child" she ordered.
"You were born atone for your stupid mother mistake"
"Return to your pack and claim your throne"
"The world does not smile at the weak"
"I do not want the damned throne of that pack, what the hell are you saying Mom?" She asked.
"Then what do you want?" Her Mom asked.
"To be far away from it all"
"I believe we have tried running before" her Mom said.
"How did that workout for you?" She continued and Diane stayed silent.
"But there is no love between himself and myself, I'll never hold the key to his kingdom, I barely bear his name" she sniffled.
"And he is about to give my title to another woman"
"Love is a weakness, one that is not needed to seize power, if the earth does not put it into your hands, take it, you bear the mark of the Goddess, you bear her powers, you are her mage, you are her weapon, you are destruction. Cling onto power because that is the only way to survive Diane, I did not spend years training my child to be weak, the next time you walk into this house you should be a woman of power, highly reverend, you did not choose to be married to the greatest pack but it was in your fate, now you will turn your misfortune to power because that is the only way to live and fulfill fate"
"And father?" She asked.
"Your father chose his path and he has treaded on it into the great beyond" her Mom said.
"And his death?" She asked.
"Shall be on my head and not your husband" her Mom replied leaving Diane in shock.
"Your father brought up the thoughts of war over a tiny problem such as boundary, if he died then it is his fault and since he is mine, then it is mine also" her Mom said.
"But on whose head is Mr Luther's blood on?" Her Mom asked with an expression Diane could not define.
"Mine too" she continued.
*
It was almost dawn by the time Diane got to the boundary on reaching there she saw Ian, Logan and a mob of werewolves.
"Wanna fight?" She asked the mob tiredly and they giddled up in fury.
"Touch a hair on her head and it might be the end of you, she's mine to hurt" Ian said and everyone immediately went at ease.
"Return to the pack now" he ordered and they all shifted regardless of their clothing racing out of that place.
"Ok then" Logan said retreating also.
Ian looked at Diane's face.
"You must really love defiling me".
