Chapter 21

Ashley could hear the snoring of the guard that sat close to her. Ashley tried to sleep with the hope that she would wake up next to Logan and everything would only turn out to be a dream. Even with her blindfold, Ashley could not find sleep. All her struggles were to no avail for so many reasons but the major one was the guard that snored beside her.



He was the guard that was personally assigned to watch her. Over some hours of being tied to the chair, her hand had begun to get used to the rope and the chair that held her in one place. Ashley started to mumble with the gag that was placed in her mouth. Making unusual sounds to draw anyone that will listen attention. After struggling for close to twenty-five minutes, she was successful. Her guard had removed the blindfold.



"What do you want?" He asked. Ashley continued to struggle to make a speech with the gag. He finally removed it.



"What do you want to say?" He asked.



"I am thirsty. I need water" Ashley sighed with a hoarse voice.



"Should that give you the reason to interrupt my peaceful sleep?" He frowned at her, returned her blindfold, and walked away.



Ashley wanted to shout for help one more time, this was the reason why she had a mouth gag on her in the first place. She had struggled to let her presence known by using her voice. She had no idea where she was but Ashley believed that they all felt threatened and that was why they had decided to punish her with the mouth gag, therefore there was no reason for her to shout.



After a few minutes, the hefty man was back with a bottle of water. He placed the bottle in her mouth and raised her body.



"You would have been an amazing vampire. Too bad you never got the chance to explore that possibility," he said in his baritone voice. Ashley continued to breathe heavily after the bottle of water that seemed like the best she had taken in a very long time.



"We feed on blood. So do not worry you will die of hunger." Eric laughed. He came from behind her and whispered to her.



"Do not get hungry. This is just the beginning," the Echo of his laughter could be heard all over the place. He brought out his burner phone and dialed Logan's number. "Logan, Logan, Logan," he called.



"Eric, how is my lover?" He asked.



"A bit hungry and thirsty. You know it's been past 20 hours since she last ate something," Eric laughed. "I got to give it to you Logan, you were lucky you did not put a tracker in the money. I thought you were dumb enough to try something stupid." Eric could hear Logan's chuckles from the other end of the phone.



"I trust you are a man of your word. You will deliver my girl to me after you have received the money."



"Logan, Logan, poor, Logan. I thought you were smarter than this. You will get your girl if you play along and be obedient."



"Hope you know I am over a hundred years right? Let's stop beating around the bush and do what we are supposed to do," Eric began to laugh hysterically.



"Logan, age does not matter right now. What matters is that I have your girl and you will do whatever I want until I feel I am satisfied and you have learned your lesson."



"Logan! He plans to kill ..." Eric placed his big fat hands on her mouth, stopping her from finishing the statement. He signaled her guard to wear her gag on.



"Eh, what do you say?" Logan feigned ignorance.



"It's your lover trying to hear your voice," Eric said calmly.



"Can I hear her voice?" Logan asked.



"You will. After you complete your next task," Eric said.



"What is it?"



"Logan, Logan. Calm down. I will communicate your next task later on. Have a good nap. I know you did not sleep all night," Eric cut the line. He looked at Ashley and gave her a sound slap. He punched her in the tummy, held their ears, and said. "Do not ever repeat this in your remaining life. If not, I will make it shorter." He released her ears. Ashley spat blood out and raised her head to look at the giant that was torturing her. "You are a coward. Call Logan and fight him one on one, stop hiding here!" Eric laughed.



"You are up for surprises, love," Eric said.

Tyler looked at Logan curiously wanting to know what had just transpired.

"Talk to me," he said to his best friend.



"I heard Ashley's voice" Tyler's eyes widened. "What did she say?" He asked.



"Our speculations were true. He wants to come after us before killing us,"



"That is if he does not kill the both of you in the process," Tyler warned.



"So, do we stick to the plan?" Logan asked.



"We do not have any option." Tyler reminded him. They were all seated in Logan's favorite spot in the city; An outskirt where he could see the whole town.



"Yeah, true," he nodded. "She was the first person to be brought here. I proposed my love to her, Three years ago " Logan smiled.



"In your entire life?" Tyler asked.



"Yep. In my entire life."



"Wow!' He was so surprised, that he could not hide his shock. He stood up and said, "we must get her back. What next?" He asked.



"We wait, Tyler. We play the patient dog who gets the bone in the end."



"But do you think he will fall into our trap?"



"He is confident about everything he does. He has pride and you know pride always comes before a fall, we make him believe he's capable of having it all."



"Then we wait for him to fall?"



"Exactly, Tyler. We will be his fall." Logan looked at the view and smiled.
