Chapter 44
Through the literal bubbles and squeaks, Ashley found her way back into her office, closed the door behind her and laid on her couch– she was extremely exhausted. It was their anniversary in their office and she has been overworking and smiling to everyone; smiling at that point alone was a chore for her.
At that point, all she actually wanted was to be in Logan's hands giving him a rundown of her day and how stressed out she is.
"No, all you want is your bed in your own room." She said to herself.
She had left Logan's house for almost a week now since the Lunas'meeting saga. She hadn't reached out to him; of course he has tried, she just wasn't ready to be speak him. It has not been easy not speaking to him. It has been fucking hard. If anyone had even told her she could go this long without any communication with Logan, she would not have thought twice before calling such person a bad belle – A pure hater of beautiful thing but here they were.
Almost a week and counting, a knock was heard on her door. She rolled her eyes into her head. She literally just left the review section, greeting and bearing cookies for everyone. Their anniversary was a work-free day for every journalist in the firm, where they bear gifts and literally gist their day through and honestly, she was ready for all other part of the anniversary except for all the gist part; and all of that part she has done. All she wanted was to be left alone, and she couldn't get it, s much for her personal office and office.
"Can I come in?" A voice called from behind the door. She couldn't even miss the voice, it was Dave.
"Come in," she called back.
She had said back before she remembered she actually had locked herself in her office.
She grudgingly stood up from her chair, unlocked her door and without waiting for the door to open, she walked back to her couch.
"Whoa! Do you not want me in?"
'Yes, I don't want to see your ass up here.'
Of course, she did not say that. "No, come in. I'm just not in a good mood," She uttered to him with a little smile.
"Mind to share?" He asked
Thinking about it, I don't think i should but I will. "Try me," he said, positioning himself on the visitor's chair after turning it to directly face Ashley who was on the part.
"I have been really emotionally down these days and even if I want to deny it so hard, I think it's actually because I'm in a bad term with my boyfriend," she let out.
"Oh, since when have you both been in this condition?" Dave said, his face contoured into a serious demeanor.
"It's been almost a week."
"Wow!"
"Right, I never thought so as well but right." Ashley said.
"He hasn't tried to reach out to you?"
"He has, I just have been trying all my best to not speak with him until he is remorseful enough to come in person."
"Remorseful? Can I ask why? What caused the misunderstanding?" Dave asked trying to be careful as possible.
"He really disrespected me; he literally thought he could make a decision for me and enforce it like I was some sort of domestic servant. It annoyed me that I had to leave his house almost a week ago and all he has done was calling and draining my battery and texting like his life depended on it, he still has not deemed it fit to come see me," Ashley explained. "I love him too much to be treated this way."
"Of course you love him," Dave said. In his head, he thought if he should say what he had in mind or not.
After almost a minute, Ashley said "Is that all you will say? What do you think I should do? I really want to speak to him." Dave took that as a play-button and started with what he had to say.
"Look, I understand you want to speak him so bad but I don't think it should be the best option in this situation. Once you reach out to him, he takes that a go-ahead to do other demeaning stuff to you. You won't like it."
"True though, but what if he does not reach out forever?"Ashley asked making Dave raise his brows in utter disbelief.
"Are you for real?! Do you think he won't try to reach out to see you soon. The man is so into you from what I have heard. Just try to hold on for a while, it's going to be for a while."
"Alright, thank you!" Ashley said in her most baby-like voice before opening her eyes wide.
"WHAT YOU HAVE HEARD?!"
"Okay, bye!" Dave stood immediately from the chair and headed towards the door.
"From who did you hear my story from?!" Ashley called after him
"I'm going to get more donuts from Marietta!" He called back, with that leaving the office.

Getting home was all she had wanted all day and Ashley just did, although it was very late because of the review she had to wait for after normal working hours.
She closed her car door with her bag in her left arm and her car key in her right palm. She was still trying to get her key into her bag when she heard a deep baritone voice very different from the voice she wanted to really hear.
"Been waiting for you..."
