Chapter 31

"Let's discuss here," Ashley pouted her lips.



"Ashley we could discuss it in one of the rooms," Logan suggested as their eyes met with each other.



"I am tired and stressed. I find it difficult to walk," Ashley released a sigh to make her lie sound convincing to him.



"Since when has this been happening?"



"Some weeks back." Logan knelt in front of Ashley who was sitting on the sofa.



"And you never mentioned anything to me?" Logan had betrayal written all over his face.



"I thought it will go within a couple of days and as you can see it persisted."



"So what do we do about it right now?"



"Nothing. It will heal."



"I could call the doctor right now" Logan tried to remove his phone from his jean pocket as he offered. Ashley was amused by how everything had escalated and if she did not take precautions, she could be visiting the hospital very soon. It was either she followed him to the room or goes to the hospital. Ashley thought of a better idea.



"No! there will be no need for that. I will be fine. Can you please spare us a moment?" she looked at her best friend.



"Okay," Jessica stood up and assisted Tyler.



"Sorry, buddy." Logan stood up and tapped Tyler on his back as both Jessica and Tyler walked past him.



"It's okay," Tyler grunted. "Besides the doctor said I needed to rest." As soon as Jessica and Tyler were out of sight, Logan looked at Ashley.



"Are you happy? Why do you have to stress them out? You know he is still recovering"



"And what about me? I am fine?"



"Ashley, when did you become so cold?"



Ashley placed her hand on her chest and asked "Ohh, now I am cold right?"



"A sickness that is not even confirmed to a person in pain like Tyler, who should have stood up?"



"First I am cold, secondly I am a liar." she shook her head in disbelief.



"Impressive, Logan, very impressive!"



"I do not mean it that way, what I was trying to say was..."



"Hold it right there, Logan!" she raised her hand like a traffic wanderer trying to stop cars from moving. "What do you want us to discuss?"



"A lot of things, babe."



"First of all remove that babe from your mouth."



"Oh wow," Logan was perplexed at the words that were coming out of the mouth of his girlfriend. "Calm down. What is wrong? What do you want?"



"What do I want..." Ashley kept quiet for a while like she was processing the answer. "Nothing," she stated.



Logan stamped his feet on the floor and looked at his girlfriend again "What do you want Ashley, I am tired of you saying nothing all the time."



"What if I don't want anything?"



"Then what does it take to bring back those memorable days? The days when we were in love and played around the house like kids, those days when I felt safer in your arms and nothing mattered." Logan sat down next to Ashley.



"Why do you need to be safe, when you are a hybrid?" Ashley asked as she folded her arms.



"Is this what this is all about? Because I choose not to tell you what I truly am?"



"No, it is not what this is all about. Besides you lied to me about your true origin. That is one of my issues with you." Ashley held her mouth like she had said something that she was not supposed to.



"I did not lie to you, I just decided not to tell you."



"What is the difference?!" Ashley yelled.



"You never asked me if I was a werewolf nor a hybrid or a vampire. You only assumed."



Ashley kept quiet for a while, she was trying so hard to make sense of what had just been said to her. "So how was I to know that you were a hybrid?"



"Is this your major problem? The fact that I am a hybrid?" Logan walked a couple of steps away from Ashley, he stopped and looked at her and asked "How can one be bounded by choices someone else made? How comes we are becoming a version of a couple we don't even like?" Logan walked towards Ashley, knelt in her front, and held her hands, Ashley fidgeted and freed her hands away from his. "Please hold my hand," he begged in a very polite manner. Ashley reluctantly obliged and placed her hands in his. "I am sorry I did not mention to you that I was a hybrid, It's a very long story as to how everything became this terrible but that is not our focus for today. My focus, for now, is to apologize for shielding you away from the truth, about my true identity and that shouldn't be, it is just that the longer I spent time with you, the hour it became for me to tell you about my identity," Logan looked Ashley in her eyes as he continued. "I have no valid reason to justify my action but, baby girl, I am madly in love with you and that should be all that will matter at this very time because I detest the way the house is and at this moment I am very certain that without you this big penthouse is just mere walls that means nothing to me. I am sorry for everything." Logan's eyes were fixed on Ashley's.



"Let me get something straight here because deep down you are making me feel as if you want me because I complete your house and not because you want me back?" Logan couldn't believe his ears, he broke off from her.



"Why are you acting so cold, Ashley? I won't stop fighting for us. We will live on your terms, I know it will be hard for me, but I believe that anything you do, I will proudly take it as my punishment for I deserve it. I will fight for you but give me a reason to stay. I love you and will forever adore you" Logan walked out of the sitting area.
