Chapter 40
"Let me go look for, Karin," Ashley said releasing herself from Logan's tight hold.
Logan noticed the long glare between Katherine and Ashley. Katherine's eyes bore pure hatred and disgust and that caused his anger to rise. As soon as Ashley left the hall and she was no longer in sight, Katherine made to speak but whatever was on her mind did not get the chance to escape her lips, Logan had cut her short with a cold dismissal.
"I will not teach you how to treat my woman, Katherine, I dearly pray you learn it, and not in a hard way," with that, he left. Ashley and Karin in his mind.
"Logan!" Karin's tiny piercing voice called as she sighted him. Her face was as bright as her voice.
Logan had seen Ashley and his sister, Karin relaxing in the garden. He needed no soothsaying to know they both enjoy each other's company.
If only one person could learn from Karin and maintain peace...
"Baby, sister!" Logan replied unknowingly to him, his voice sending shivers coursing through Ashley.
"I have been lurking around looking for you, I had to know the idea you were with, Ash!" Her voice was laced with smiles.
"Right, sister. I am not done with her even, or am I, Mama?" He asked Ashley whose face was as evident as scarlet. "Come here," he stretched his hands calling Ashley to hold his palm, too flushed to speak, she obeyed. "I am not done with you, come here," Logan said in a flirty tone.
"Umm..." Ashley made to speak.
"What is it, Mama?" Logan noticing her resistance asked.
"Karin..." She started.
"What about her?" Dropping her juice at a super speed.
"I wanted to speak with you, old geezer!" Karin said and stomped on a foot in a playful rhythm.
"That will be after my meeting. Right now, I don't want to see you, just one person," he said, as his eyes roamed Ashley's red face.
"Go!" Karin said in a playful loud burst.
"Before you say, chipmunk."

"What's wrong, baby?" Logan asked as they got to the room and Ashley made her way to the bed.
"Logan, I am scared for myself," Ashley said.
"Why's that?"
"Your elder sister doesn't like me. I can at least count six others who don't," Ashley said, twirling the locket on her wrist.
"Katherine will come around, Mama," Logan said, holding her hand and reassuring her that everything will be fine.
Ashley knew it won't be that easy; she knew people don't just come around, not even supernatural folks.
"And..." Ashley paused, swallowing hard on nothing like what she was about to say was bile.
She knew she shouldn't remind him but she continued either way, "And if Alex could do that to you, a strong werewolf at the time, what can they not do to me? You won't be around to protect forever."
"Ashley, I will always be around. Always around for you, always around to protect you. Nothing will go wrong when I'm here." He said, his eyes not leaving hers.
"Come here, babe."
"Heavens!" Ashley gushed in a low grunt.
"What do you want, baby?"
"I want to kiss you," Ashley said without thought.
"I want to kiss you roughly, so badly," Logan replied. In no time, their lips were locked. All Ashley could think about was his lips.
She wanted to kiss him forever. She blocked out all thought about what her 'weakness' was, what it might hold, what further mess she might fall into or create for herself and she kissed him until reason seeped out through her pores; until she became a living pulse, conscious only of what she wanted to do to him and suddenly she crashed on him; on his built body, all hands and lips. He left her to do as she want, it pleased him and his wolf.
Her head continued to think, "Oh, God, the scent and taste and feel of him. It was like tiny fireworks going off all over her, bits of her she'd thought dead with fear reigniting to life in a tiger's confidence."

In a short playsuit, Ashley stepped out of their bedroom. She headed to the kitchen all smiles, with nothing to do in her head, all she could think about was her last night with Logan who left early for a meeting with one of his investors.
She stepped into the kitchen, there was no worker around. She figured they'd all been dismissed to take a rest.
She thought everyone was gone; "she had the house to herself" was her thought until she heard a faint calculated step behind her, one would have thought the person bore harm.
Trying to remain as calm as possible, she turned only to see none other than Logan's older sister, Katherine, behind her.
"You scared me, Katherine. Good morning," she greeted with her biggest fake smile.
"Of course, even a tiny roach could have scared you, human." The disgust in her voice was loud enough to be heard miles away.
Ashley ignored, trying as hard as she could to fill her head with Logan's lips on her and all over her.
It did the trick until Katherine spoke again.
"Listen to me human, nothing will make my brother marry you, whatever human spell you used on him will expire soon. You will be surprised when he leaves you as soon as he realizes you are unimportant and as weak as the word sounds." She hit a nerve. Ashley couldn't ignore this time.
"Stop leaving in your head, vagabond!" Ashley said in anger. Katherine's face couldn't hide her shock. It was all over her face.
"Life doesn't revolve around you, Katherine. The earlier you realize the better. I won't take lessons from your hypocritical lips, so spare me the details of whatever you have in your head likewise am I the cause of any of the problems you have with humans, don't take it all out on me, alright?!" She tried to control her voice to be calm, but it was on a wave of its own. "Supernatural beings, especially ones like you are hypocrites! It baffles how y'all think you can be the moral police when you reek of the blood you suck through the years of your existence. I'd rather remain human than become you, four-flusher!"
Stunned and dumbfounded, she exited the kitchen to her room, mumbling words under her breath like chants.
The werewolf world was drastically different from the human one, while being the leader's love interest might have saved her from the bullies and reduced the wagging tongues, it did not mean she was accepted although to them; Katherine was a crystal example, her humanity was a weakness, she was ready to do anything for Logan; ready to do anything to save him the stress of protecting her always.
