22. The Book of Prophecy

The moonlight shined brightly and thus penetrated the bedroom. The eyes of the little girl were eagerly gazing at the stars and wondered about what magic does it holds within those silver spots in the vast sky.
The sleep such a nice thing could not be gained by compulsion, though it reached its peak in the little eyes along with yawning. Soon a lady entered the little girl’s room and wondered why did not she slept and held the little girl up in her hands and laid her down in the bed.
Mother asked her daughter, “Baby girl! Are you still awake?”
The little girl answered with a yawn, “Yes, Mommy” and the little hands were busy rubbing her eyes.
“Oh…I wonder… what keeps my baby girl stay awake from sleep.” The mother of the little girl asked and gently comforted her.
“I can’t sleep, Mommy”, the little girl replied with wide eyes.
“Okay. What I can do to make my cute pie enter her dream world?” Mother asked with puzzled eyes.
“Mommy, tell me a story…” the little girl added those words to her conversation.
Mother asked her daughter for her choice of story, “What story do you prefer tonight? Unicorn, fairies, angels…?”
“No… I am tired of hearing all those. Tell me something new…” the little girl asked her mommy with curious eyes and a cunning smile.
Mommy asked, “I think you have decided?”
The little girl nodded and handed over her the book of maps which she kept under her pillows and requested her mommy to explore, “Tell me from this…”
Mommy replied with hesitation, “A map book! But, what story will I cook from this? Can I tell from any other storybooks?
The little girl replied with a cute face, “Mommy…no. Please tell a story from this book. Please…please…can you do it for your baby girl?”
Mommy agreed with a sigh, “Alright. I know you are good at convincing others with your eyes”.
Mother opened the map book and explored it and took the index finger of her daughter and placed it in the middle of the page, started explaining what had been written and what it exactly meant to be.
“This is our land. Exactly to say, we are living on an island. Did mommy tell you why it is called an island?
“Yes…you did. Land covered by water", the little girl answered.
“Well done. You have good memory power. Now, tell me… What is an archipelago? Mother asked her daughter to test her wit.
“Wait, I know…it is… it is a group of islands”, the little girl answered with bright eyes.
Mother clapped her hand to encourage her daughter and felt proud of being the mother to such an intelligent daughter, “I am proud …We are living here” pointing to the area.
“Are we living in this tiny dot? My pinkie finger is bigger than this dot” the little girl replied naughtily.
Mother replied with a giggle, “Yes, honey. The dot we live is called Daxino Uvet”
The little girl repeated the name with giggling, “What is ‘Taxi owet’ means?
Mother replied in a clear tone to make her daughter remember the place where they live, “It is called, Daxino Uvet. It means triangular shape island located to the South.”
The little girl inquest her mother, “What is there in other directions?
Mommy replied, “Hmmm…Other Islands. Once upon a time, our land belonged to dragons, werewolves, wizards and vampires…They had a clash and separated their province by marking their kingdoms to other directions.”
The little girl enquired her mother, “I wanted to know?”
Mother went out of the little girl’s room and returned with an old thick bounded book, “Mommy, I saw this book in daddy’s place.”
Mother opened the old thick bounded book and carefully turned the pages, “Baby girl, and don’t touch it. Let me do it for you.”
The little girl asked, “What’s this dot is called?”
Mother replied wisely to make her daughter understand, “This white mountain on the west is called Ayruzglow kingdom. Dragons lived there.”
The little girl asked with a curious tone, “Oh, wow. Are we dragons? I don’t find my wings? Can I Fly?”
Mother replied with a smile, “No dear, we are not dragons” and she continued, “The north is occupied by werewolves. It is called the Ukada Kingdom.”
The little girl replied with quick words, “I know. Are we werewolves with sharp claws?” gestured her little palms as claws and howled like a wolf.
Mother replied to the ignorance of her little daughter, “No baby girl, we aren’t werewolves. The land in the east is called Ardna Chirig. Wizards and Witches marked their boundary.”
The little girl extended her words, “That means…”
Mother replied quickly, “No, we are not wizards either”
The little girl asked by exploring the old book, “What’s this called?”
Mother took a closure look and told her child, “This is called Ireta Catar. The blood-sucking vampires are hanging with sharp fangs.”
Mother held her daughter’s neck to her mouth and mocked the vampire sucking. The little girl giggled at her mother and asked in a puzzled tone, “If not all these, then who are we. What are we?”
Mother told in bold tone, “We are humans. We do not have wings, claws, fangs and we do not possess any kinds of magic powers”.
The little girl replied in a sad tone, “No powers. That’s not fair. What do we have, then?”
Mother replied confidently, “We have more powerful things than powers, claws, fangs and wings…God gifted humans with that extraordinary thing called, Brain. Use your brains to vanish your stains”
The little girl replied after her mother, “Use your brains to vanish your stains”
USE YOUR BRAIN…these words were echoed and faded in the mind of Akshara and a screeching sound of a raven disturbed her sleep. Akshara opened her eyes suddenly; she was breathing heavily and wiped her sweat with her bare hands.
A raven entered through the window and cawed in an evil tone. Akshara thought it was Eggy and shooed it. Later found that it wasn’t Eggy. Another raven sat on her window and started troubling Sun and Shine.
Akshara helped the little birds to get rid of the ravens and closed the windows. Soon another raven appeared outside the window and started pecking the glass of the closed window of Akshara’s room and it was followed by many ravens. The glass of the window started to break inch by inch and one of the ravens was about to enter her room.
In shock and fear, Akshara along with Sun and Shine rushed to her bedroom door and shut it to avoid the entry of raven into the palace. The poor thing is she wasn’t aware that the entire palace was surrounded by multiple numbers of ravens and their cawing sound filled the air to give her heart trembling experience.
Akshara crawled to her feet and rushed to the living area and she was followed by her Sun and Shine. In a rush, Akshara without noticing her steps missed her gravity and reached the living area by rolling on the staircases.
Akshara bruised her hands and legs in her journey of rolling from the second floor to the ground floor. She found herself under the feet of someone and grabbed their legs for support and tried to stand.
“Karen, I … Ahhhhh” Akshara shouted like a hell on seeing the face of that person.
Akshara reflexively walked back as the person stepped forward to catch her and reached out her hands to snatch something for her support. Akshara found a flower vase and hold it in front of her and warned the person in a disguised look.
“W-Who a-are y-you? S-stay A-away. D-Don’t even th-think of step-stepping for-forward? ” the stammered tone of Akshara echoed to the ears of everyone in the palace.
The person replied to her in a nasal tone, “Hello, Axe. Can’t you recognize me?”
Akshara with wide eyes asked him but she could feel cold running down her spines, “How do I know? Wait…Did you call me Axe? Do you know me?”
“Let me give a clue to find me. Is that ok?” the person nasal again.
“No. Never mind who you are. Just leave my place.” Akshara ignored him and moved but she was caught by him and forced to listen to recognize him.
“Look at your index finger and what caused you to bleed?” the person held her wrists tightly to leave his hand marks.
“Index finger?” she looked at her finger and remembered it was Eggy who caused and found out that what if the person was a transformation of Eggy, “Don’t tell me you are Eggy”.
“I am Eggy, Axe. I am called Igikran. But I like the name you give me - EGGY”
Shock prevailed in the air and Igikran waved his hands and twirled a little. Akshara ran behind the curtains and tried to hide. An evil laugh came out of Nicoria’s room. Everyone was assembled in the living area and thus gathered to spectate the doings of Igikran.
Nicoria came out of her room with an evil laugh and scary smoky eyes rolled every corner of the palace. Igikran made the living area to something peculiar and was reciting some hymns. The recitation was repeated by all the other ravens that were circulating the palace.
Nicoria waved her hand to spell something; soon Azile who was standing in the corner of the living area was dragged to the middle. Both Nuraz and Deniza pleaded with Nicoria to spare her. Nicoria threw both in the air hardly.
Nothing helped, Karen grinned his teeth in anger for the doings of Nicoria. Yadivah holds his hands to stop him from performing any heroism, after seeing the wrath of the Queen. Alabruz stood helpless as believing in the fact that Nicoria is their Queen, she has all the rights to do whatever she wants, and whoever dares raise their head shall be be beheaded.
Nicoria’s smoky eyes turned pale without a pupil and the same was reflected in Azile’s eyes. Agile started to speak a different language, screamed, and laughed gravely.
Igikran took a knife and cut the palm of Azile’s hand. The blood flowed from the cut and thus collected and poured into the middle of the living area. The flame from nowhere started to lit and Igikran chanted some spells and a book emerged from the pyre.
The book seems ordinary; it has an eye on it with visible nerves. The eyes examined every corner and looked at everyone.
Igikran took the book and handed over his highness on his knees, “Your Highness. Lysemme is performed and The Book you asked for”.
Nicoria’s evil eyes enlarged to see that book and attempted to open it. A voice heard from the backbone of the book, “Your Highness, I feel the honour to foretelling you”
The book opened the pages to their middle and showed the prophecy of Nicoria. Nicoria’s eyes filled with mixed emotions of evil joy along with wrath. The Book states in dark letters in the middle of the air,
“Queen of Darkness,
Lost Will Be Found.
A Fragile Soul,
Rise in Power.
Ignorance Fails Your Quest.”
Akshara involuntarily left a voice of shock which grabbed everyone’s attention. Karen gestured not to shout to make her presence reveal.
“Axe…Axe…do you think you are hiding. It is that I didn’t pay attention to you. Don’t fool yourself, on your knees my sweetness.” Nicoria replied without looking in the direction of Akshara.
Akshara trembled a lot and took her feet forward to reach a place safe beside Alabruz. Though beast by nature, she hopes that he could save her from any approaching dangers.
Alabruz looked at Akshara with a guilty look and he found a little relief that his darling chooses him in terms of safety.
The book of prophecy came in front of Yadivah, the book stood face to face of Yadivah. The eye on that book starred her deeply and pages opened to show her prophecy. The words were written in blood. It stated,
“The seeds of evil,
Shadows of destruction.
The wrath of the evil shall,
Slay the fire of greed.”
She read out the prophecy and doesn’t seem to be understood and then it moved towards Karen who was equally excelling in the book. Soon the pages turned and showed him the page with words written in tears of Angles. It was written,
“The Bloom Shall Wither,
What Not Reliable.
Medicine of No Origin,
To Cure The Incurable.
Agonize Thy Sorrow,
Fare Thee Well Your Heart;
Let Your Mind Conquer.”
The brows of Karen frowned by reading those words. When Karen was finished reading, a tear dropped appeared at the end of the word and changed its initial form of liquid to frost. The frozen tear reached the hands of Karen who held it with deep sense and looked at the frosting shape intensely.
The eye book of prophecy reached the direction of Alabruz who was on his knees next to Karen; Alabruz closed his eyes tightly and doesn’t want to know his prophecy. The book doesn’t seem to be a move to next and it opened the pages of dark colour and the words appeared in melted lava,
“Supreme Mind Guilty Heart
Beholden Thy Act.
Glory Light Will Fall
If Not Cautious,
Beware Of Your Blood.”
The mind of Alabruz alarmed him by reading those words and closing his eyes to accept the words of prophecy. Akshara’s heart pumped more blood to know that she was the next to read that weird book with an eye.
The book went to Azile who was got on her feet from an unknown faint. The weird look and efficiency of the book thrilled Azile and pages opened to her in words written in mud,
“Awaken Love,
Shall Not Be A Delight.
Let Thy Onus,
Vex Your Soul;
Perish In Disgrace.”
The prophecy book with an eye moved towards Akshara and stood in front of her. Upon eye to eye contact with Akshara, the book flipped its pages and finally settled in a page to uncover her prophecy; the letters appeared in blood made of gold. The prophecy of Akshara,
“Time Favours A Serene Heart.
Unite Thy Blood of Melted Gold,
Love Soaked Iron Heart,
Thus Build Allies.
Intellect Shall Afford Victory.”
Akshara read out the words to understand the inner meaning and to her wonder, she could not figure out what the prophecy meant. But her mind lingers on to the words Intellect from the prophecy book and Brain from her dream. The book closed all of a sudden.
