64. Dream talking

Akshara wandered into the realms of her dreams hoping to meet Dev. In her dream, she found a door that looked exactly like the door to his chamber. She hurried to open it, calling, "Devil, are you there?"
Dev was resting in his king-sized bed with his eyes closed. Her voice awakened the slumber of Dev. He smiled at her, "Why do you take so long to come?"
"Devil, I wanted to ask you something. Can I?" Akshara asked him, approaching him with stammering words.
"I know something is eating you. What is it? " Dev sat down to lean on his headrest.
Akshara tiptoed to stand by his bed as the icy floor in his dreams was too cold. "I wanted to know many things. I may ask tomorrow. You will be exhausted after a long day. I must let you take proper rest."
When Akshara turned to go toward her bed, Dev caught her hand and insisted on sitting on his bed. "Tell me, I am all ears."
Akshara thought for a while, took a deep breath, and sat on the edge of his bed, "hmm... where to start? I will ask from my new memory."
Dev felt guilty for the game-changer of her fate. He wanted to reveal everything but halted to think, "What if she hates me?"
Akshara growled, "Ahem! Lost in your world?"
Dev smiled at her and said, "Want to make this conversation memorable?"
Akshara nodded, and Dev jinxed and laminated his room with dim lights and icy birds of neon colours to add some romance to their talk. "Are those birds made of ice?"
"Hmm, then I let my Sun and Shine play with them... wait," Akshara quickly opened the cage of sun and shine, and they chirped around Dev’s chamber with icy birds.
Akshara finally decided to ask while sitting on the corner of his bed, "Devil, hmmm, when they tested me for virginity in the cave bar..."
"What?" Dev interrupted, "Your virginity was tested? Let me smash the Frozen Crescent into dust by morning?"
When Dev tried to get up from his bed, Akshara got hold of him and said, "No, it's a regular test, they said. When I was tested, they said my blood turned into gold. Mine is red, not gold. Why is that?"
Dev tucked her strained hair behind her ears and replied, "You said that I saved you in water before. I rescued you. (Akshara nodded) That’s how my blood is transmitted to you."
"That’s it?" Akshara knitted her brows, "Then, how did you rescue me?"
Akshara covered her mouth, "You did CPR to rescue me, didn’t you?" Dev smiled at her without replying.
"What’s CPR?"
"It’s cardio... anyway, you are not going to understand. What technique did you use to save me?"
"I think I might have transmitted some of my energy to you... orally; I think it might have been an overdose that made you lose your memory."
"So that’s the cause of my memory loss? Wait... What? Orally?"
"Sara, I apologise for your loss. I wanted to save you for no other motive."
"You did what? Are you orally transmitting your energy to me? Before I even knew you?" Akshara placed her hand over his hand and laughed at his worried face.
"Maybe those memories aren’t meant to be remembered. That’s why I lost them. I want to create new memories with you." She told him to console those who had been struggling with guilt.
Dev was overwhelmed with her confession, "Also, I make you intake my blood in our every kiss to make you invulnerable."
Akshara halted her yawn after hearing his shocking revelation, "What?"
Dev told her, by patting on the place beside him, "Rest yourself, we are just talking."
"No, I won’t rest with you..." Akshara denied it immediately.
"Sara, I am a man of my word. I won’t until you want to. So, lie down." Dev pulled her towards him to rest.
"Not close to you," Akshara said, lying down in the opposite direction. Her head was on his heels.
"You've got human legs," Akshara said while touching his toe fingers.
"I like to be in mortal form after seeing you. So I can express my love to a mortal in mortal form." Dev grabbed her feet to kiss.
"Devil... (Akshara pulled her legs from his hold and wanted to change the topic from getting trapped in his charm) Ivan said that your age and death are a slow process. How old are you?"
"I am three centuries older in human years," Dev answered her while his hands were still trailing her toes.
Akshara was panicked and jolted to sitting on the bed, "What? Th-Th-Three centuries? I am just... (she calculated with her fingers) twenty-three, maybe."
"My Sara is twenty-three in human years but has an eternal connection with this dragon." Dev mentioned himself and he too sat on the bed and asked her, while caressing her cheeks, "Are you worrying or panicking?"
Akshara asked, with curious eyes that sparkled with the reflection of lust on him, "So you are immortal in human words." In the meantime, Dev planted his kisses on her cheeks and neck. "I may perish too quickly, and then will you go for another bride?"
Dev halted his action of inducing her lust and was surprised to ask her, "What? Another bride? Sara, what are you talking about? In three centuries, I only make you my bride. Only you have those enticing eyes to captivate me, and no female has dared to enter my chamber. (Dev touched his heart). How will I go for another after you?"
"I may die sooner or later, but you will be left alone." Akshara pulled her long face and looked down.
Dev hoisted her drowned head with his index finger and he kissed her on the forehead, "Sara, I am a healer by nature. I will heal all your human diseases."
Akshara looked worried, gulping some hope, "You may heal my diseases, but you can’t stop my ageing or death."
Dev held her cheeks with a much-worried face, "Sara," he sealed her lips with his deep kiss, and Akshara was carried away and melted into his action.
Dev placed his fingertips on the root of her brain and pressed to transfer some of his energy, simultaneously feeding his blood. "Sara, your death is never happening."
Akshara pushed him away from her. "Oh, are you turning me into a human explosion?" she asked with innocent eyes.
"No, I am marking you as my bride in our every meeting. Anything you aren’t cleared off?" Dev offered her the night to clear her doubts.
"Marking as your bride isn’t still clear to me. It sounded like petty politics inside the kingdom. I don’t care unless I am chopped alive." Akshara giggled.
Dev held the hands of Akshara and confessed, "I won’t let anything happen to you. It’s my word."
"Anyway, one more thing is there. I don’t know how to ask you. But unless you, I can’t ask anyone else since I haven't got anyone else but Ivan."
"What is it?"
"Huh, it's... Last night, we both knew we had... (she gulped with blush) in our dreams."
Dev grinned at her, wondering what she was going to ask of her dreams. "Am I still a virgin?" Akshara inquired.
"What makes you question your virginity?" Dev coughed to comprehend her question. Akshara remained silent with arched eyebrows.
Dev explained to her, "Everything happened in our dreams; it had no connection to reality. You may relax since I can’t even touch you in real. (Some seconds passed with silence) Else, I may drop you in Frozen Crescent to test your virginity."
"No, not to that hell again."
"Hell! It’s my heaven, which has all the seductive wines, including you. (He laughed at looking at her to meet her eyes.) You are allowed to tell me when you want our dreams to come true."
"Devil..."
"Or you want just our lust to be fulfilled in our dreams? I can make that happen. You know, I jinxed merging your dreams with mine."
"As a result, I don’t have the freedom to dream." Akshara exhaled, "You’re going to know everything, right?"
"Kind of... you can resist me if you don't want me to."
"No, I want you." Akshara bit her tongue for speaking her mind.
"Would you still choose to be with me if you regained your memories?" questioned her with the most hypothetical question.
"I..." Before Akshara could answer him, the ferocious animal grunted heavily to awaken her from her dreams.
Both Dev and Akshara opened their eyes and realised the question had the biggest impact on their minds. Dev realised that he had spoken out about his biggest fear and was worried about not getting the answer.
Akshara processed the question in her mind, "Why does he ask me that?" She talked to her pet birds, "Will I still choose to be with him after getting my memories back?"
Sun and Shine chirped in reply. Akshara asked them, "I can’t decipher your language."
