87. To refill the void
Karen’s wolf talked to him, "Why are you here?"
"To get my Axe back," Karen replied to his wolf which was growling inside him.
"Then where are you going?" his wolf asked him the most tricky question.
"Away from her..." When Karen was replying to his wolf, his extraordinary mind opened up and gave him a clear vision, and he told his wolf, "I am going away from her while I risked the lives of every one of my pack, exploring every inch of this freezing land, and now I am going away from her."
"Get her!" his wolf voiced, and Karen swiped his face and held a strong hope of winning her back.
When he turned, D'Rona came in front of him with a puzzled face, and Karen asked her, "What brings you here?"
D'Rona explained about bride selection and the aftermath happened in the Ice Castle helping Karen to get more clear vision about his mission.
Karen quickly processed a plan in his mind, "Rona, I need your help."
D'Rona nodded, and Karen smirked at D'Rona, saying, "I’ll find what I lost."
While Karen was taking a break to digest what he saw in the crystal forest, Dev and Akshara exchanged some romantic time with each other.
"Why are we here?" Akshara asked Dev, and before he could answer the question, Akshara asked another question, "And where are we?"
"Which question should I answer first?" Dev asked her while lifting her chin to his chin height, and his icy blue eyes landed on her cherry-colored lips to get the answer.
"Everything!" Akshara spoke and soon her cherry coloured lips were sealed by Dev. He pecked her lips and enjoyed little time with her alone in the deep forest of Crystal.
Akshara giggled at Dev in extreme blush and asked him, "You haven’t answered me yet, Devil."
"I did what your lips asked me to do..." "Dev told her in a husky voice. His breath hit her neck; it gave her chills, and she blushed heavily.
Dev rubbed his nose tip on her cheeks, turning her cheeks red in blush. "I’m turning red day by day, and yet you are tricking me with your mischievous acts."
"Turning red?" Dev asked her to figure out what she actually meant. "What is turning you red?"
"Love," Akshara told him without a second thought. Before Dev could enjoy her confession, she continued, "My love for you turned me red in a chilling blush and also in a flaring wrath on you."
"Wrath? Sara, what..." He asked and figured out what she was going to mean, and he replied to her, "It’s my entire fault. I shouldn’t have left you alone in the castle."
Dev tucked her loose hair behind her ears and tilted his head to convince her. Akshara asked him, "Why are we here?"
"Proximity!" Dev answered, and Akshara understood the hidden meaning of what Dev mentioned.
"Your proximity is sending some signals that my heart could race on," Akshara said with a studded voice, as she felt uncomfortable standing on the freezing land as she was barefooted and the chill tickled under her feet.
Though Karen witnessed Akshara’s love with Dev from afar, his mind saw only her and avoided everything around her, including the person she was sharing her romance with. Karen knitted his eyebrows with serious tension built on his face after looking down at her bare feet. He heard himself say, "Axe!"
Before Karen’s voice reached her travelling through air, Dev’s actions approached her first. Dev pulled Akshara towards him to smooch her lips again while making her stand over his legs to prevent her contact with the ground.
Akshara asked in between, "How did you know I felt discomfort while standing?"
"I know about every inch of you..." Before Dev could finish, Akshara closed his mouth with her hands while saying, "Shush!"
"You know that I haven’t forgiven you for leaving me alone for quite a long time." She mentioned his past actions.
"Playing hard to get, Sara?" Dev lifted her to his shoulder and opened his wings to cover them both from the environmental chillness. "Sara, I know. Also, I felt a void between us. I want no void to fill us."
"Let’s take some time to us to reshape our void filled relationship, shall we?" Dev asked her.
Within his wings, Akshara’s head was popped out, nodding positively from his embrace, while her remaining body was covered inside his wings.
"Getting enough warmth?" Dev asked her, bending his head towards her.
Akshara shook her head no and asked him, "So? How long is SOME TIME?"
"As long as you wish to be here with me... alone," Dev said with a beaming smile, and Akshara was happy about getting Dev to herself after numerous struggles with rival brides.
"Agreed to endure all my pleasure filled tortures," Dev warned her about his inner desire, which might pop out at anytime, breaking all the barriers he had built in his heart.
Akshara understood but started a conversation, thinking to get a diversion, "Huh, I stayed in numerous places and I can guide anyone who asks me address to Ayruzglow."
Karen listened to their conversation and thought to himself, "My Axe indeed a born genius. She has a photographic memory. No wonder she could guide anyone to the most tricky land."
"What places?" Dev asked her.
"Ice cave bar, your chamber, dirty dungeon, and now this forest..." Akshara listed it out to him.
"And here too," Dev pointed to his heart.
"Devil, what if we are walked by some strangers or wild beasts..." she asked with a puzzled face.
"You know what to do when you are not feeling comfortable," Dev asked to hear her much awaited answer.
"Yes, running into your winged arms is my safest place." Akshara laughed out loudly and was mesmerized by the path Dev took her.
The way to a surprise shelter was decorated with various colored crystals, which could reflect the night sky on land with the icy floral decoration. The entire place was like glowing with multiple colours that reflected on Akshara’s face.
Karen too followed them, fixing his amber eyes on Akshara, who was in Dev’s arms, smiling at Dev instantly forgetting everything around them. Karen smiled when she smiled; he shrunk his face when Akshara shrunk her face while exhibiting her anger to Dev.
Karen observed every minute detail happening in Akshara, even her happiness to be with someone else.
"I’m so elated to see my Axe's happy face again after a long time, but why is it that I’m not visible to her eyes? Is the dragon’s charm blinding her eyes?" Karen lamented following Akshara and Dev.
Karen was amused and pleased to look at her than grown wrath against dragon Dev, who abducted Akshara from him.
Karen looked at her exotic eyes, which were fixed on Dev’s icy blue eyes, and thought, "Her eyes remain the same with charms, so she is happy and safe."
Karen’s eyes landed on her smiling lips, and he thought to himself, "I would like to hear you call my name again, Axe."
When Karen was deeply watching her lips, Dev planted his kisses on her lips with a little bite. And she reflected back with the same excitement, biting his lips until he bled.
That’s when Karen’s possessiveness bubbled into wrath and he vowed, "Axe lost her memories, and this dragon is using her vulnerability to gain her soft side. I will rescue my Axe from this ferocious arrogant dragon."
