57.     Love is a transparent curtain

Dev looked at her eyes and exhaled deeply. "Don’t make me wait too long. Besides, with an intoxicating beauty like you, I don’t think I can take control of myself. So, I hope you won’t blame me for my doings, since I have confessed my notions earlier."
Before Akshara could open her mouth to reply, Dev dragged her into the interior of his room and closed the door behind her.
Akshara pleaded with him, "Devil... no, let me stay in some other place. You are acting like you are the only one left in this kingdom to decide everything. Back in Frozen Crescent, my roommates warned me about the Lost Jar. Please don’t involve yourself in any court matters for me."
Dev, busy with his magic performance, halted to look at her. "Keep quiet, if you don’t want me to shut your blabbermouth with my kiss. This time I won’t do it only with kisses."
Akshara placed her hands on her mouth like a covering, and Dev could see her red cheeks in her blush. "You are beautiful with your blush."
Akshara covered her cheeks with one hand and covered her mouth with the other. Dev laughed at her innocently and closed his eyes to perform some magic.
In the corner of his room, Dev created a bed made of ice for her. Akshara spoke through a closed mouth, "Do you want to kill me? How will I sleep in this? Can’t you make something out of wood and mattress on soft cotton?"
"Wood, cotton. Alright, Sara," Dev jinxed to create the bed for Akshara in wood, a cotton mattress, along with a pillow and blanket, and a warm cage for her pet birds, replacing the ice bed. Akshara enjoyed her new bed and thanked him with joy.
"Also, I wanted a wall separating us," Akshara asked, and Dev nodded negatively. "That’s not happening."
"Please, I'd like to keep the privacy," Akshara processed the situation quickly and thought of an idea. "I snore loudly. It might affect your sleep."
"You won’t snore, I know it for sure. So ask for nothing to separate us. I don’t want to part with you since I am just got married yesterday."
"How about transparent curtains?" Akshara pleaded as she drew his hands away.
Dev exhaled, "Transparent curtains? Why do you need transparency? What’s the purpose of it? "
Akshara winged his hands by holding them in her hands, persuading him to get the transparent curtains. He smacked his lips with his knitted eyebrows. "Sara, why do you need such things to separate us? I doubt my decision to marry you, to make you my bride, mine. It’s like I forced you into this... enough"
Akshara was worried about his different angles of thinking and immediately planted her pecking kiss on his lips to ensure that his decision was not wrong. "No one forced me. I could have resisted you when you gave me this (touched her amulet), but I did nothing like that."
Dev was astonished by her kiss and was shocked to take in her tantrum action. In a gesture, he raised his eyebrows in an attempt to ask her something. Before he could open his mouth, Akshara closed it with her fingers, saying, "Shuuusshhh"
Akshara continued, with a blushing smile, "The transparent curtain is still transparent; you can see me through it. Everything is visible to you; I just want some time to process it. Don’t blame yourself."
By looking into her eyes while holding her waist, Dev told her, "The night is still young. Get some sleep. I can understand why you insist on staying in another room. But, I want to declare to this world that you are my bride. Also, my shadows won’t shade you without your knowledge. But I would like to give you an exclusive offer."
Akshara asked him with much curiosity, "What is the offer? Are you creating another room for me, separating this big icy room into two?"
Dev smiled and replied, "No, that is not my offer. My offer is that you can reach me anytime if you want my warmth, just like I kept you warm inside my armed wings."
He winked at her, jinxed to make thin transparent curtains around the bed. He reached his king-size bed, removed his shirt, and rested his body on the soft mattress.
Akshara rested in her newly made bed, closing the transparent curtains behind her. She stretched her limbs to relieve her exhaustion from hanging around his neck for long travelling, but she couldn't stop thinking about her husband.
"Did you sleep, Devil?"
"No, I am awake. Do you need anything else?"
"No, I want to know. Did you jinx this room too, to echo my mind?"
"Why haven’t I thought about it before?"
"No, remember nothing, just sleep. Good night, Devil."
Akshara blinked for a while and observed there was obsolete silence in the room, even though her sun and shine had slept. "Did he sleep that quickly?" asked herself.
She turned her head to check on him by removing the curtains. Suddenly, she closed her eyes to watch him sleep bare-chested.
She looked through the thin transparent curtains again. She pointed her index finger at him and chuckled. Since she found no sign of him being awake, she removed the blanket from her and stepped on the floor barefoot.
She gawked at his beauty with chuckles from her bed. She thought, "He has thick cheekbones, a pointed nose, cute eyebrows with icy blue iris and is half-naked."
She recalled how she woke up in the morning, "If not Ivan woke us both up, we would have (blushed, covering her face with her hands). Thank God, I woke up before he was awake."
When Akshara recalled how the morning went in awkwardness, she blushed. She tried to walk over to the room where Dev was; the chillness affected her from toe to head and made her leave some hisses.
Dev sat on his bed and saw her. "Sara..."
His voice shocked Akshara and she replied by closing her eyes, "Devil, did I wake you? As this is a new place, I can’t sleep. I wanted to go near the window to get some fresh air."
Dev asked her, "How will you walk with your eyes closed?"
Akshara replied, "I... you are half-naked. So I closed my eyes."
Dev replied by resting his head on his left hand on his slightly bent knees, "Sara... I am yours. You are mine. You mentioned that sharing the same room is too soon for our relationship. That's why I don't make you sleep in my bed. "
Akshara wide opened her mouth and thought about how she woke up embracing him, "not sharing the same bed again."
"Also, according to the traditions of the Ayruzglow kingdom, the object of any shape or material given by a man to his woman is declared as marriage. So no one will question your presence in my room. Open your eyes, Sara."
Akshara shook her head negatively, "You are still half-naked."
"Oh, I am half-dressed. You can open your eyes," Dev jinxed, bringing a blanket from nowhere. Dev got to his feet, and the blanket behind him wavered in the air and rested on his shoulders. "Sara, you can open your eyes. I am covered."
Akshara opened her eyes one by one and double confirmed the coverage, then hurried to the window of his room. Akshara asked while watching the faded moon, "Devil, are you sure that we got married?"
Dev moved towards her, "Yes... ours is a legal relationship. Even Las Oajar has nothing to say about it. This amulet I gave is a token and symbol of our relationship."
"You said that before. But I wonder and can’t believe my own eyes." Akshara felt a mixture of awe, shock, surprise, and fear."Devil... Am I married to you? Oh my god, I am married. I am married to a non-human creature. I married a hybrid dragon. I married a hybrid wizard. I am fated to marry the combo living being of an animal and a magician. And..."
Her jabbering was inaudible to his ears as he stood at the window in the moonlight, remembering his dreams about Akshara the other day.
Destiny recreated his dream into reality, just as in his dream; Akshara was standing in the corner of his room in the glimpses of the moonbeams. The icy breeze made her hair move like the waves of the sea.
The only difference is that in his dream, Akshara was quiet, and in reality, she was jabbering. Dev went near her, held her from behind, and wrapped his hand around her waist.
He placed his chin on her shoulder and said in a husky tone in her ears, "Sara, you are awakening the sleeping monster inside me with your charm and beauty. I don’t think I can hold my words."
"You are awakening the sleeping monster," These words echoed in her mind in an unfamiliar male voice, and she was sure that the voice wasn’t belonging to Dev. "If it’s not Dev, then who else could it be? Did it have anything to do with my past?"
