Chapter 28.

Roman called Anthony, he had gotten his number from Megan who had been very reluctant to give him. As eager as she had been for Roman to put him in his place, she also didn’t want a confrontation that would complicate things between them. After getting the phone number, he called Anthony and asked that they would meet up at a park.
Roman thought it best that they met at a public place so he restrain himself from punching or beating the hell out of him when he saw him.
He had been waiting for a total of six minutes when Anthony finally showed up. By then, he was furious that he had the audacity to keep him waiting, something Roman wasn’t quite used to.
Looking at Anthony from afar, Roman wasn’t quite sure what Megan actually saw in him. He was convinced whatever they had must have been fleeting because he couldn’t even understand what would make Megan fall for him in the first place.
He was below average to Roman who was also certain that Megan could do so much better than him. His attitude of late didn’t also do much to improve anything, which only made him more irritating.
“What do you want?”
Anthony asked as he finally stood in front of Romans with a scowl on his face. He had forgotten just how tall Roman was, he didn’t appreciate the fact that he had to raise his head to look up at him.
Roman had a smirk on his devilishly handsome face. He was dressed like he usually dressed, the formal pants and plain tucked in shirts. Something about his posture alone was enough to give him an air of charisma and importance.
The two men have not gotten to see eye to eye ever since the day at the hospital which was the first time they had met but they didn’t bother with each other.
“I should be asking you that question.”
“You’re the one stalking a helpless pregnant woman.”
Anthony sighed.
“I wasn’t stalking her. I was just looking out for her. It could be my baby after all. I didn’t want anything bad happening to her.”
“You don’t know if it’s your baby. And that doesn’t give you a right to be a pain in the ass.”
“She doesn’t want you around. I don’t know what transpired between the two of you when you first met but she sure as hell doesn’t feel the same about it now.”
“It’s best for you to respect her choices and just move on.”
Anthony scoffed.
“And who are you to tell me that? Did she tell you to tell me that?”
Roman shrugged.
“She didn’t have to. But you spooked her enough to raise my concerns. Trust me Anthony, I won’t hesitate to call the authorities if you try anything with Megan.”
“Baby or not, a restraining order will make sure you never get close to her again.”

Anthony frowned. He didn’t expect Romans involvement or welcomed it. He clenched his fists in simmering rage and Roman noticed it.
“I think we’re done here. Hopefully I won’t have to do this again.”
Roman said as he looked at his watch.
“I don’t really believe in second chances.”
He said close to Anthony’s left ear and he sauntered away leaving Anthony in rage.


Megan watched Roman as he took their dirty plates and box of leftover pizza into the kitchen. They had spent a night together at her place and everyday Megan found herself more and more in love with Roman’s company. He had a fun side and he was also laid back and cool. When he was with her, he wasn’t as serious as he always was and it made Megan feel happier that he was free with her.
“So, I want to ask you something.”
Roman said as he came back with napkins.
“What’s that?”
Megan asked as she rubbed her tummy while lying on the sofa. They had just finished watching reruns of Dirty dancing after Megan got bored of Netflix.
Roman sat at the nearest sofa to hers, he was wearing a plain grey t-shirt and jeans. Megan didn’t know that Roman in jeans was what she absolutely needed to see because he definitely looked very good in jeans. But he didn’t wear them as often as he should, and they hugged his butt so well.
Just staring at him made her all hot and bothered, she knew it was due to her overactive pregnancy hormones and the fact that she had not had sex in months but a part of her wondered if he found her sexy too.
It would definitely give her a confidence boost, but something told her that wearing an oversized t-shirt and sweatpants wasn’t really sexy.
“Do you want to go somewhere?”
Megan raised her eyebrows.
“I don't know. Like where?”
Roman smiled. He was so handsome when he smiled. He ran a hand through his hair and Megan lowered her gaze.
“I’m going to Paris in the next few days. I’d love it if you could come with me.”
Her eyes widened in shock.
“Wait! Paris? Are you serious?”
Roman nodded his head.
“I want you to see it. It’s so beautiful. Would you like to go with me?”
Megan was at a loss for words. Paris? It just seemed so out of the blues.
She could have never had guessed that he wanted her to go on a trip with him, and she wanted to say yes but she was still in shock, she had not traveled in a long time. Nor did she know why exactly Roman was taking her with him,
“You really want me to go to Paris with you?”
“Yes! Why not? I have a business meeting over there but it would only last a few days and after that we can go check out some cool places together.”
“It’s a very tempting offer…”
Megan trailed off. Roman moves closer to her and held her hand.
“You should definitely take it. I can already picture you there with me, trust me, you’d love it’”
It wasn’t a bad idea, Megan thought.
And she could use a vacation.
“Okay. I’ll take it. But that’ll be after my checkup and my doctor approves.”
Roman grinned widely.
“That’s fine by me.”
“Do you want me to come with you for your checkup?”
Megan shrugged.
“No. I'm good.”



Megan’s mood was ruined when she got to the hospital, she had ran into Anthony at the hospital and despite all her efforts to know what he was actually doing in the hospital, she really couldn’t fathom why he had come. She hoped that he wasn’t stalking her and she couldn’t deny how she had been getting a kind of bad feeling anytime she went out. And she felt like she was being watched, and she didn’t know if it was just her being paranoid or her subconscious ttrying to tell her something.
“Dr Louis is running a little late.”
A nurse said as shw walked in the waiting room where Megan was. That was unusual, Megan thought as she frowned.
“Do you have any idea when he’s going to be back?”
The nurse shrugged.
“He asked me to start without him so I’ll just take a few samples before he gets here.”
“What are they for?”
She asked as she followed the nurse. The nurse turned to look at her with a smile.
“Just some routine tests that need to be done before the doctor gets here. It won’t take long at all.”
“No problem.”
After a few minutes with the doctor who retrieved her blood samples and does a few other tests that Megan wasn’t used to receiving in the hospital, Dr Louis came in later to check her vitals and gave her instructions for her trip. He told her that she could travel but she should avoid putting too much strain on herself and the baby and Megan was happy to hear that.
After her Checkup, she called Roman.
“Guess who just got travel clearance from her doctor!!!”
“That’s great news. Will you come over to my office or do you want my driver to come pick you up so we can go over the travel plans.”
“No, I’ll come over, I need to get the café first.”


“Here are the samples you need.”
Anthony said as he passed the sealed file to the doctor waiting.
The doctor nodded.
“I’ll call you as soon as I get the results.”
