CHAPTER 31.

“How the hell could you even think of getting a DNA test without my approval?”

Megan said as she stared at the DNA test results with a mixture of shock and anger coursing through her. Roman was just as shocked as she was.

Anthony seemed to be the only one in the room enjoying everything.

Anthony shrugged.

“You weren't going to get one anyway and I really had to know. Aren’t you glad this saved you some stress.”

He said with a sneaky smile on his face. He turned to Roman who was still frozen on the spot.


“So! What do you think Mr Roman Harrington? Want to check out the test results yourself?”

He waved the results in front of him.

“How could you do this? What the hell is wrong with you?”

Megan asked as she continued to look at the results with disbelief etched all over her features.
Anthony shrugged.

“What else did you want me to do?”

“You wouldn't talk to me! You wouldn't take the test! I had to do something!”

“Not this! You didn’t have to do this! How the hell could you even think of taking a DNA test without my permission?”

“What kind of sick bastard are you?”

“Hey! Hey! Hey!!”

“I’m not a sick bastard! I’m the father of your baby and you should start treating me as such.”

Anthony said as he held Megan’s hand. She slapped his hand away,.

“Get away from me. I don’t want you ever touching me.”

She exclaimed and Roman came closer at that moment.

“Anthony, why would you do something like this without telling her? You do know you can be arrested?”

Anthony threw his head back and started laughing hysterically.

“Arrested for what? For getting a DNA test to show that the baby’s mine?”

“You really do think highly of yourself don’t you Mr CEO.”

“And Megan, honestly are you really shocked about me getting a DNA test or me being the father of your baby?”


“Father of my baby?”

She scoffed.

“Yea, I don’t believe you. I don’t believe anything that comes out of your mouth. When the hell did you even do this?”

Megan couldn’t even explain the myriad of emotions that were running through her mind. How the hell could Anthony do something like that to her?
When did he even get a DNA test done?

Her mind went through her memories and she remembered the last visit she had to the doctor where she had gone for a checkup, the nurse had been acting a little strange. She remembered because she had to take a couple of other tests that she didn’t normally take when she went to the hospital.

If the nurse had truly been in on something like that, that was illegal and she was also very sure it was against hospital policy. She remembered noticing that Anthony had been following her around that day because she was in a foul mood when she got to the hospital.

He must have known that she was going for a checkup, that could have also been the reason that he visited the cafe earlier and didn’t say anything when she asked him to leave. Because he had probably hoped that he would catch her with Roman so he could also reveal it to Roman too.

But why?

Why would he do such a thing?

That she didn’t understand.

She knew he was creepy but she never imagined that he was so dubious too.

“So now that it is confirmed that I am the father of your baby. I have a few rules that I’d like to lay down.”

Anthony said as he settled in on a couch, Megan watched him with a frown on her face and Roman was too dumbfounded to say anything. He didn’t even know what to say.

“i don’t know whatever it is is going on between the two of you and frankly I don’t want to know, but I doubt its good for our baby. I want us to raise our little one together as a family Megan. And believe me I’m ready to do anything possible to ensure that happens.”


Megan sighed, she walked towards her door and opened it widely.

“Anthony, leave.”

She simply said in a calm, cool and collected tone.

The smirk on Anthony's face fell as he realized that Megan might really be mad at him.

“if you’d just give me a moment to explain…”

“Do you want me to call the cops?”

She asked as she raised up her cellphone in her other hand and he shook his head and quietly stood up from the sofa.

“But you know we have to talk about this, you can’t keep ignoring me, I’m the father of your baby…”

He said as he turned towards her and Megan smiled slightly.

“I don’t care.”

She simply said and she slammed the door after him.

“Fuck!!!”

She exclaimed as she ran a frustrated hand through her hair. She looked up and found Roman staring at her, he had been quiet, way too quiet throughout her exchange with Anthony and she didn’t know if it was because he was just as shocked as she was or because of something else.

“I have to go.”

Roman said after he cleared his throat and Megan scoffed.

“Why?”

She asked and he sighed.

“I… I really just need to clear my head. I need to think.”

“Oh! Well you're not the only one that needs to do that. You think I’m not equally as surprised as you are?”

She asked and Roman opened his mouth but then he quickly shut it, he didn’t want to say anything to upset Megan more than she already was.

“Megan please forgive me. I just really have to go.”

Megan nodded as she shrugged.

“Yea, you can leave if you want.”

She chuckled slowly.

“Door’s wide open!”

She snapped as she walked out of the living room.

On getting to her bedroom, she slammed the door behind her angrily and broke down and cried.

Not cried, she wailed. She couldn't even tell why she was crying, but she knew she couldn’t stop, it must have been her hormones, or something else but she couldn’t stop crying.

And Roman?

He was long gone.

He didn’t even stop to check if she was okay.





He was sulking. He knew it, his friends could see it, but they couldn't do much about it.

“The best way to get over a girl is to get another girl, in your bed Roman. Trust me, it works like a charm.”

His friend Phillip said as he poured Roman another drink.

“What do you see in that girl anyway? I mean, after Petra, it looked like you were quite determined to steer off any other woman and then you go ahead and get entangled with a pregnant amnesiac.”

Lucas, a mutual friend of Phillip and Roman said.

Roman sighed.

“I really can’t explain it, every time I decide to take a step back she keeps drawing me in. I really really love being with her.”

Phillip sighed then he rolled his eyes.

“Well, that’s not possible anymore. Now you know who the father of her baby is and frankly I think that you should save yourself from anymore heartbreak and complicated issues.”

His other friend, Lucas nodded in agreement.

“Philip and I don’t always agree but he is right. She’s expecting another man’s baby. It’s time for you to move on.”

But Roman didn’t want to move on, but his friends were right anyways, she was expecting another man’s baby. It really couldn’t work out no matter how hard he was willing to try.
