Chapter 17: Hot meeting

**Elliot’s Point of view**

As agreed, I wait in the forest near the campus for everyone to leave. I had to find an excuse for Owen and Simon to go home without me, but they asked fewer questions than I thought. They must have understood that I wanted to be alone and they too have their own problems to deal with.
When I'm sure I'm alone, I sneak to the library and spot an open window high up. I agilely climb the facade and silently slip inside.
The large room is dark but thanks to my wolf eyesight, I can see the tables and shelves.
I feel that Alice is close but I don't spot her. I turn on a small table lamp which gives the impression of being a small sun in this big dark room.
She is very close. I turn around and come face to face with her, her face just a few centimeters from mine.
"Bouh!" She says to me, laughing." Admit it. I scared you!"
I'm too stunned by our proximity to reply and she seems to realize it because she hurriedly moves away. Her warmth fades away and coldness comes over me but I don't let it show.
"You're not as scary as you think. I might have been scared if you'd taken a book as a weapon."
She huffs. "Nonsense. I can be very impressive when I want to be."
I smile. "I do not doubt that you must try very hard."
We look at each other smiling like idiots, all too happy to be back to our verbal jousting.
I clear my throat. "You said you had answers?" She then tells me about her excursion to the shoe store and how little she learned.
"So you're saying the scarface guy was the Alpha of the Rogues?"
"It would seem so, yes. But less than 24 hours after I killed him, they attacked us again. I thought they were going to tear each other apart now that he’s gone."
"They must have already found a replacement. Maybe he was even appointed by the Alpha who hired them."
"Maybe. They must communicate by phone." She runs a hand over her face. "I thought I'd ask Sam if he knows a hacker. We could hack into the store's website to get the rogue's name and track his movements. If we can get our hands on a rogue's phone we could also spy on their conversation or geolocate them."
"You want to bring him into this?" I ask disbelievingly.
"I don't plan to tell him everything, but yes, I'll ask him for help. We're at an impasse and time is running out. I don't know what else to do."
I thought for a moment. "Owen could do it." She looks up at me. "He's taking computer classes." I add.
She thinks for a moment. "Do you think he would help us? "
"Definitely. I just need to figure out what to tell him so he doesn't ask too many questions."
She then takes a paper and notes the model of the shoes the blonde had bought so we know what to look for. We then hear a noise in the distance.
"Shit! I thought the guard didn't start for another 30 minutes!" Whispers Alice.
"Who's there?" The guard thunders as he enters the library.
We hide between the shelves. "He'll find us." I whisper.
She then takes my hand and sparks spread throughout my body, making my blood boil. She puts me behind her and pulls me against a shelf that is set against a wall. To my surprise, she pulls on it and the bookcase swings open, revealing a door in a recess.
"I can't believe it! A secret passage! It's like a spy movie!" I gasp, excitedly.
The guard approaches and the second we enter his field of vision, Alice tackles me against the door and closes the shelf on us.
The guard stops a few steps away from us, scanning the area with his flashlight. It's a good thing he's human, otherwise he would have spotted us by our scent.
Speaking of scent, I feel like I'm drowning in Alice's. She's pressed up against me and I am amazed at how perfectly our bodies fit together. She is toned and soft at the same time and she is a head shorter than me. My nose is just above her hair and before I know what I'm doing, my hand reaches out without me deciding to slide through her hair.
Goddess. It's incredibly soft and I grab it with both hands, breathing faster, harder and deeper, filling my lungs with her scent.
I expected her to push me away as usual but she snuggles up to me, her nose pressed against my chest and her hand crumpling my shirt.
We freeze as the guard's flashlight passes over us and she moves slightly away from me, our bodies barely touching.
As he moves away, she reaches behind me to open the door, forgetting to warn me. I am complement leaning on it and I fall backward, dragging her with me. We fall heavily and she finds herself straddling me. She straightens up just enough so that her lips are a few inches from mine, her hair forming a curtain around us.
This position makes me hard, rubbing against her crotch. She gasps and plunges her now green eyes into mine. I smell her arousal and my eyes turn blue.
Leo grunts and groans, tortured by the desire our mate provokes. *"Mark and mate. Mark and mate."* He repeats over and over. *"Now!"* He urges me.
I see in Alice's eyes that she too feels the urgency of mate. But we are interrupted again by the guard who turns back. He probably heard us fall.
Alice gets up quickly and rushes to the door to close it. She reaches out her ear to see if he is moving away and I only get up when I hear her sigh with relief.
"Follow me." She says as she heads down a hallway.
"What is this place?"
"You don't know?" She asks in a surprised tone. "It's a library for werewolves. There are many books about our origins and history. It's hidden so the humans won't stumble upon it."
"I see. Why don't I know about it then?"
"You don't go to the library very much apparently!" She says with a laugh.
"Not really, no." She laughs. "Anyway! I've been here for a while and you've only been here two days!"
"What can I say, I'm more hardworking than you!" She says, holding back a smile.
I squint my eyes, suspicious. "And the truth?"
"It was Miss Gibson who told me earlier. I asked her where I could find a book about this Moon Goddess-given sign story and she gave me the keys."
She then opens a second wooden door that looks heavy, opening into a large room with old furniture. The books are old and dusty and a large chandelier lights up the room.
I frown. "Why are you so interested in this?"
She turns to me. "For us of course!"
