Chapter 54: Finally
**Sam’s Point of view**
I slowly wake up in an unknown room. I try to get up but I grunt loudly as I feel every muscle in my body protest.
What the hell?
My head spins and I am forced to close my eyes to keep from vomiting.
What happenned?
I search my memory and vaguely remember that Alpha Mark pushed me away. Somebody yelled my name too. But that's all I remember.
I imagine that we were banished and that Melanie and Alice carried me here. I try to call out to them but my throat is so dry that no sound comes out.
I squeeze my eyelids shut and decide to get up.
Big mistake.
I am not even standing up when I collapse on the ground with a loud noise. Immediately, footsteps are heard on the other side of the door, accompanied by hurried whispers.
Great. They heard me.
Not wanting them to find me in this weak position, I try as best I can to get back on the bed.
I hear the door open behind my back and can't find the strength to turn around.
"For the record, I didn't fall. It's just that the floor looked sad so I decided to hug it." I throw.
The person doesn't answer and stays still for a few seconds before coming towards me.
I then feel two strong arms lift me up and gently rest me on the bed, waking up the sparks in the process.
I quickly raise my head and find myself just inches from Owen's face. Miller immediately wakes up in my head and shakes his tail, tongue hanging out.
*"Chill out dude. He rejected us, remember?"*
But when I look into Owen's eyes, I don't see the usual hatred and disgust but concern.
"How are you feeling?" He asks.
I blink. Did he just talk to me? Impossible, I must be dreaming. He only said hateful things to me before he rejected me and left me on the spot.
He stares at me, waiting for my answer.
"I hit my head harder than I thought, I'm hallucinating." I say in an icy tone.
He sighs and sits on the edge of the bed.
"I'm sorry Sam." He says with a sincere look.
I raise my eyebrows. "For what exactly? For being obnoxious? For rejecting me? For not giving me a chance?"
He sighs again and lowers his head. "Yes, for all of that. I was scared and angry, but that was no reason to hurt you like that."
I feel the tears welling up at the memory of the pain that followed the rejection and try to make him leave. I don't want him to see me cry.
"Apology accepted. You can go now."
He sneers. "And where do you want me to go? We've been banned. Well, more or less."
"Yes, I suspect so." I frown. "What are you doing here anyway?"
He looks uncomfortable. "We all left together."
I straighten up as best I can. "You mean Alice has finally realized that she and Elliot are meant to be together?" He nods. "Finally! What took her so long?" I say with a laugh.
Owen doesn't take his eyes off me. "She's not the only one who took a long time."
I stop laughing and look at him without understanding.
"What do you mean?"
He fidgets and looks away. "I took back my rejection and accepted you as my mate."
I blink. He's not serious? Does he think he can just throw me away and take me back?
Miller is mad with joy but I'm mad with rage.
"It's too late."
He looks at me with a tender expression. "It's never too late."
I can't believe it. The arrogance of this guy! I see red and decide to make him pay.
"I'm with someone else, we've already mate." I lie.
I know it's bad but I want him to suffer as much as I did.
No, that's not true. Despite everything he did to me, I don't want him to suffer.
I open my mouth to apologize because I thought I hurt him. In reality, he looks like he's about to have a breakdown.
His eyes have turned yellow and his claws and fang are out.
I don't have time to react when he throws himself on me, pinning me between the mattress and him, putting my hands on either side of my head.
I gasp and he violently slams his mouth on mine, his teeth lightly cutting into my lips. He devours me with an appreciative grunt and I feel like I'm on fire.
Wow. This man is a god.
He steps back a few inches and growls menacingly. "Does he kiss you like that?"
I gasp. "Owen..."
He interrupts me with a kiss and reaches down further, nipping at my neck, right where he should be marking me.
"Owen!"
He freezes and moves up to my face.
"Owen, I'm sorry. It's not true I'm not with anyone." I say hastily, closing my eyes.
After a few seconds of silence, I open an eye at a delighted Owen.
"I know. Alice told me."
What? What a traitor!
"And since when are you friends?"
He shrugs. "She's not that bad, that's all."
"I'm glad. Can you let go of me now?"
He raises an eyebrow. "Why would I do that? You clearly don't want me to let go." He says as he looks down at my pants.
Shit. He saw it.
I feel myself blush and he doesn't struggle when I push him away, just snickers.
I shake my head, not believing this miracle. He has finally accepted me.
I hear a knock on the front door and we fall silent. Owen helps me up and we walk into a small living room where Melanie, Alice, Elliot and Simon are looking towards the door.
The place we're in isn't very big and looks more like a cabin than a real house.
Alice opens the front door and lets in the person I least expected to see here.
"Ben! Come on in."
