Chapter 70: One year later
**Elliot’s Point of view**
I sigh and drop my head on my desk, nearly knocking over a whole stack of documents. It's been a year since Alice and I took over from our fathers, and I'm very proud to say that we're doing quite well considering our young age and the huge territory we have to manage.
Although we are both officially the Alphas of this pack, it has been too complicated internally and most members call her Luna, which she willingly accepts as long as she remains an Alpha in the eyes of the rest of the world.
It was the same for our two Betas and our two Gammas. So we had to create new titles. Sam is Beta, Owen is Delta, Simon is Gamma and Melanie is Epsilon. It was a little strange at first but it has made our lives a lot easier.
We have a lot of work to do, but we've managed to organize ourselves to continue college on the side.
The new packhouse was built for us and those who wanted it and since we wished everyone to mix, we agreed that each old packhouse would be occupied by as many ex-Reds, ex-Blues and ex-Silvers. Many were unhappy at first but now there is a good atmosphere throughout the area. We thought it would take longer for the ex-Reds and Blues to tolerate each other but we were surprised to see them living together as if nothing had happened.
Many wolves left us as soon as Full Moon Pack was created and we had a mutiny a few weeks later. They were arrested and we looked for new packs for them to settle in. Well, when I say we, I mean mostly me. Alice wanted us to banish them to set an example.
There are so many of us that we can't handle all the requests. So we had to designate a person in charge who would take care of the day-to-day business and who would only pass on to us the most important cases. We didn't need to consult with each other, it seemed obvious to us to appoint the young boy Tyler, the former Silver who helped us when they were asked to join us. He is the Kappa and also manages the combat training.
*"Let's go see mate. I miss her."* Says Leo who has been grumpy all day.
*"I miss her too."* I say smiling fondly.
Between Alice and I, it's just amazing. I love her a little more every day if that's even possible. The days are too long when we are apart and the nights are much, much too short.
I slowly make my way back to the top-floor apartment and am delighted to find Alice standing in the middle of the living room, so strong and beautiful.
She smiles at me but it doesn't reach her eyes.
I kiss her and look at her. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I have something for you."
"A gift?!" I thought again. "I didn't forget a birthday, right?"
She laughs. "No, don't worry. But you'll have to look for it."
Oh, she is in a playful mood?
I smile and start to look, and she guides me by telling me 'hot' if I approach and 'cold' if I move away.
I quickly understand that it's on her and start to search her pockets, tickling her in the process, but I find nothing.
I blow with a laugh. "Are you sure it's on you?" I ask as I hold her close to me.
"Well, not exactly." She says as she kisses me on the cheek.
My blood boils from the sparks and I kiss her hard on her lips, forgetting the gift.
"I've missed you." I mumble between kisses.
"I missed you too." She moans.
She stands up my shirt and I take her's off. She then pushes me away gently, which makes Leo growls. She is now standing three feet away from me in jeans and a bra.
On her stomach is written the word ‘occupied’.
I frown. "Occupied? Are you trying to tell me you're bloated?" I say, laughing.
But she doesn't laugh, she has a very serious look on her face and I hear her swallowing loudly. Her eyes are wet.
"It's occupied but not with food."
I gasp, afraid of misunderstanding. "Are you pregnant?"
She nods and begins to twist her fingers. "I'm sorry, I don't know how it happened, we were very careful. We never talked about it and it's probably a little early..."
I don't let her finish and fall to my knees, resting my head against her stomach.
"Are we going to have a pup?"
"Yes." She whispers.
I laugh like crazy, squeezing her tighter, trying to get in between the little half-me, half-her being growing in her womb.
"Are we going to have a pup?" I repeat.
She laughs softly, running her hand through my hair.
"Yes. You're going to be a father."
I laugh, crying with joy, and straighten up to take her in my arms and spin her around in the air.
I kiss her like crazy. "I love you. I love you so much. I love him too."
"Maybe she's a girl." She says with a laugh.
"You know what? Let's make at least one of each."
"Whoa, calm down. One at a time, okay?"
I laugh and kiss her again.
"I love you, Elliot." She says as she hangs around my neck, her eyes shining.
"I love you too Alice."
**Benjamin's Point of View**
I leave my father's office with my teeth clenched. I've been traveling the world for a year to solve problems. He says it's to teach me diplomacy, but I know very well that it's to punish me because every case was minor. Useless. A waste of time.
I walk to the forest and shift, running as far away as possible from the Castle. I let Draco take control and he runs to his favorite place, our secret refuge.
At least that's what I think.
At the last moment, he changes direction and stops at the edge of a cliff. The view is magnificent and we can see the ocean in the distance reflecting the light of the setting sun.
Draco looks carefully at the forest that stretches out in front of us.
*"What?"* I ask.
*"She's out there. I know it."*
I huff. Ever since Alice delivered my mate's message, Draco has been like a madman. It's been a year that I've been looking for her, which I've been doing with little enthusiasm. A year that I travel the world and that I go to lots of packs but no trace of her.
Desperate, Draco let out a long howl that echoes for a long time. He waits for an answer and I dare not break his hopes.
He finally puts his head down and turns around to go back.
*"We'll find each other. Soon."* He says confidently as if talking to her.
I huff. *"Yeah, right."*
**Unknow's Point of view**
I desperately try to find food and once again I pity myself for not having my wolf to hunt more efficiently.
*Another month to wait.* I tell myself.
Just as I am about to corner a rabbit, a long howl breaks the silence around me.
I suddenly stand up and turn towards the source of the noise.
It is close.
But unlike usual, I am not frightened but attracted. It was a lonely howl that called to me.
I shake my head. *Come on girl!*
I finish tracking the rabbit and as I get ready to jump on it, I hear a faint voice in my head.
*"We'll find each other. Soon."* Says a voice that is not mine.
I know who he is.
I let go of the rabbit and run towards the ocean, away from him.
