She laid her head down on the desk as she grew more frustrated. Casey and Lily had tapped out hours ago and Kalani had left about ten minutes ago to find her milkshake. Sasha giggled thinking about the look on her face when she said that was where she was going. She picked up another piece of paper to go over the venue and its amenities. Pool, wine bar, game room, ballroom and terraces everywhere.
She groaned and hit her forehead on the desk. Lukas asked them to put together this ceremony. He had arranged his own and refused to do it for his sisters. Casey and Lily had picked the color scheme and flowers already. Kalani had managed to narrow down the centerpieces to three options while Sasha was no closer to picking a venue that would look good in violet and sky blue. She hit her head again.
“I should just hire Casey and Lily to set this whole thing up. I could pay them in cotton candy and ponies,” she muttered to herself.
A chuckle came from the doorway and she sighed. “Cotton candy and ponies, hmm? I think if you told Lily she could stay here forever, you would never have to plan another thing.”
She smiled with her face still on the desk. “I don’t know how you do it. All this royal shit is boring.”

“You’ve been in here for hours. It’s time to go to bed. You can’t spend your entire life behind a desk just because you are queen,” Aiden lectured her.

*“If you could tell your mother anything, what would it be?”*

*“I would tell her that I love her, that I always did and I always will. I would ask her why through all of this couldn’t she love us. We didn’t do anything to her. I would tell her that I was happy and that Kalani and Lukas were happy. I would tell her that her fated mate and her lover were doing okay. I would tell her that I hoped she was back with her chosen mate and was happy. I would tell her that I wish she could have met her grandchild. I would tell her that I forgive her for everything. I would tell her.. that I was sorry for everything that happened to her. I would tell her that I wish we could have had a better relationship.”*
*Someone knelt behind her and wrapped their arms around her shoulders. They nuzzled into her neck. Sasha met the Goddess’s eyes, before slowly raising her hand to take the woman’s soft one.*
*“And I would tell you that you were the best daughter that I wish I would have appreciated, Sasha. I would tell you that I was sorry for sending you to kill your mate. I would apologize for every bad thing I ever said or did or allowed to happen to you.”*
*The woman moved around to kneel in front of Sasha and she reached out to touch her face with shaky hands.*
*“Mom?”*
*Anastasia pressed her hand into Sasha’s face. “I would beg you for forgiveness that I know I don’t deserve. I would tell you about all the nights I cried for your father and my chosen mate. I would tell you how many times I almost sent you back. I would thank you for doing my job and protecting your little sister from everything.” Her thumb stroked Sasha’s cheek after she cupped her face. “I would tell you that there is nobody in this world more deserving than you. You are going to be a fantastic queen, mate and mother, Sasha. You will be better than I could have ever been.”*
*Tears started rolling down her face and Anastasia wiped them away. “Mom, I wish we could have had more time to fix this. To fix us.”*
*Anastasia smiled sadly. “I don’t think even with eternity, my life in that world would have changed. I needed to die to let go of all the anger and the hurt. That was the greatest gift anybody could have given me and I couldn’t be more proud to say that it was you that gave it to me.”*
*She moved into her mother’s arms, clinging to her as she sobbed. Anastasia rubbed her back and hummed softly to her until she had cried herself out. She set her back and smiled at her.*
*“Listen to me, sweetheart. I need you to be there for your brother. He is going to need you and that little mate of his will, too. I have seen her future and her past. Without you guys she dies. Save her and save your brother. Now that you have found him, I don’t want you to lose him. The three of you belong together.” She sighed. “Casey does, too. I wish I could have gotten to know her. She is such a bright girl.”*
*The Goddess touched her shoulder. “It’s time to go, Anastasia.”*
*Her mother hugged her tight again and kissed her cheek. “I love you so much, Sasha.”*
*Sasha kept a hold of her when she tried to pull back. “I love you, too, Mom.”*
*Her mother faded from her arms and Sasha sat back on her heels with tears running down her face. The Goddess pulled her to her feet and led her over to her dragon. She lifted her up onto Irina’s snout.*
*“Sasha Soma, you have shown great ability in forgiveness and healing. Without both of them, you can not be the Mother of Dragons. With both of them, there is nothing that can stop you. You have been deemed worthy.”*
*Power flowed through Sasha and surrounded her with white ribbons that connected her and Irina. Her back arched and she let out a whimper as everything brightened around her. She could feel the air move and see the different shades of every brilliant color around her. Her hair rose and her body burned as if consumed by the fires of hell itself. Irina stirred and when she opened her eyes, her eyes held a ring of crimson around the iris.*
*Her scales rippled and the ones on the top of her head were replaced by a ring of emerald green scales with streaks of gold and cerulean blue. The elegant ring almost looked like a crown and when Sasha leaned forward to touch it, energy passed between them, lifting her up. Her limbs went straight out and she was suddenly surrounded by a fire. Her body went limp and she started to fall.*
She landed with a groan and sparks raced over her skin again. Aiden rolled over to look at her.
“Are you okay?”
She stared at him. He leaned over to kiss her softly, but jerked away when an electrical current entered him.
“Sasha?” He shook her roughly. “Sasha? Answer me.”
She smiled up at him. “I’ve finally been deemed worthy.”
