Chapter 105
Aiden gently shook her and she grumbled. He shook her harder and she pushed him away.
“Sasha, get up,” he laughed.
“You try having a baby,” she complained. “I’m tired.”
He laughed harder. “Fine! Have it your way.”
He started kissing down her neck and her body immediately reacted. His fingers went under the covers to slide into her. She arched her back, moaning slightly. He pulled away the second she started moving her hips and she opened her eyes to glare at him.
“Ass!”
He chuckled and tossed her a nightgown. “I would advise you to put it on.”
“Why?”
She heard feet running towards their room and giggles from Lily, Kalani and Casey. Sasha hurried to pull on her nightgown and she barely managed to get it on before her door burst open. The three girls were swiftly followed by Gregory and Lukas. Aiden held up his hands as he backed away.
‘Sorry, Ash. I held them off as long as I could. It’s noon,’ he linked her.
She sent the image of her flipping him off to him, making him howl with laughter again as the girls threw themselves down on her bed. They all fell silent as Kalani grinned at her.
“You are so slow, Aja! It’s about damn time.”
“For what?”
Lukas came closer to the bed, grinning, too. “We’re officially a trio.”
Sasha narrowed her eyes on Aiden who shrugged. “Wasn’t me.”
“We felt it. It woke me up just like when Lukas got his full powers. Yours were way stronger though.”
Sasha rolled her eyes. “And this is why you woke me up?”
“Partly.”
“What’s the other part?,” she growled.
“Daddy is leaving,” Casey whispered.
Sasha opened her arms for the little girl to move into them. “Oh, Casey, I promise you he will be okay.”
She sniffled. “How can you promise that? He’s going alone.”
Sasha brushed her hair back. “Because I’m magic and I dreamed that he came back to you. My dreams are never wrong.”
“But what if-”
Sasha put her finger over her lips. “There are no what ifs. They are never wrong. Now, for the next few days, I need to sleep. My egg will be hatching soon and I need as much rest as I can get. I have an idea for you and Lily, if you would like to help me?” Their eyes lit up. “I need help organizing this ceremony. Aiden and Gregory will help you two and Kalani while I rest. Pick somewhere really pretty.”
They jumped up excitedly and rushed out of the room. Sasha tilted her head after them. “Gregory, if you will?”
Gregory followed them while the other three watched her suspiciously. Sasha sat back against the headboard and smiled at them.
“I will be leaving for a few days.”
“NO!,” Aiden almost yelled.
“Where are you going?,” her siblings asked.
Sasha beckoned Aiden closer. “Baby, I need you to stay here and protect Casey and Lily. I do not want them to know I’m gone.”
“Where the fuck are you going?”
“I just want to follow Slonsky and make sure he is doing what he is supposed to be doing. I will come home after I am sure he is doing what we asked of him.”
Aiden sat on the bed. “I don’t like this, Ash.”
She climbed onto his lap. “I know, but I will be ok.”
He hugged her close. “If you’re not, I’m going to rock this world.”
She kissed his neck. “I know. When is he leaving?”
“In about an hour,” Lukas answered.
Sasha got up off of Aiden. “Guess I better get ready.”
Aiden stood up, too. “Get out,” he ordered.
Kalani and Lukas exchanged glances, before running to leave. Sasha picked out a pair of jogging pants and a black tank top. She stripped her nightgown off and pulled the pants on while Aiden watched, furiously. She eyed him as she put a bra on before slipping the top on over it.
“What?”
“This is not okay, Sasha. You can’t make decisions like this without talking to me first.”
She raised an eyebrow at him. “You mean a decision that involves both of us?”
“Yes,” he hissed.
She bared her teeth at him. “Casey is my sister.”
He straightened up to his full height. “AND I’M YOUR MATE!,” he yelled.
“You have made decisions that affected both of us without talking to me beforehand,” she told him.
“Like what, Sasha? Tell me one fucking thing that was going to separate us that I decided on without talking to you first.”
“Are you serious right now?”
He took a step towards her with his fists balled. “You’re damn right I am.”
She picked up her dagger and put it in her belt. “How about the time you had Gregory tell me I was never going to be queen? Or the time that you accused me of cheating, because I was carrying your egg? Or how about the time-”
He charged across the room to snatch her up. He shook her a little.
“AND BOTH OF THOSE TIMES I KNEW I WAS WRONG! I REGRET IT EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE! I ALMOST LOST YOU, SASHA! I DON’T EVER WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN!”
Her anger died a quick death and she wrapped her arms around his neck. “I love you, baby. I promise I’ll be okay.”
He pulled her into his body more, burying his face in her neck. “I can’t lose you, Ash. You’re my everything.”
She sighed. “Do you trust me?”
“I do.”
“I now pronounce us man and wife.”
He pulled back to stare at her. “Are you fucking kidding me, Sasha?”
She giggled. “Come on, it was funny.”
He glared at her, before stomping across the room to search through his drawer. He came back and jerked her hand out. He shoved something onto her finger and when he removed his hand, she saw the emerald heart encased in a gold band.
“When you come back, I want to be able to be known as man and wife, but if you don’t come back.. I will hunt down and kill everyone that has ever known you.”
She raised her eyes to his. “Is this.. Is this an engagement ring?”
“Yes, but it’s so much more than that. It’s my promise to you that you will always be my everything. It’s my promise that I will always be yours. It’s my promise that everything will always be okay as long as we have each other.”
Her hand shook as she raised it to touch his cheek. She swallowed back a lump that had lodged itself in her throat.
“Aiden,” she whispered.
He wove his fingers through hers. “Baby, I love you. I know I haven’t always shown it, but I do.”
“I love you, too.”
He put his forehead against hers. “Promise me, you will come home safe. Promise me.. that if you need anything, you will reach out to me immediately.”
“I’ll do you one better. I’ll leave our link open.”
He nodded and kissed her lips softly. “I like your idea better.”
She smiled against his lips. “I always have good ideas.”
He rolled his eyes. “Not always.”
She giggled. “Come on! I did choose you, you know.”
He smirked. “All that means is that you have good taste.”
She shoved him playfully. “Ass.”
“But I’m your ass.”
She blew him a kiss as she pulled on her family’s ability to go invisible. “And what an ass you are.”
His laughter followed her out of the room as she went to find Slonsky. She heard Aiden following her down the stairs to the office where she heard the girls talking about venues and decorations. She stepped inside and was happy to see Slonsky leaning against a wall. She reached for Lukas’s link.
‘Tell him to get a move on.’
Lukas cleared his throat. “It’s time to go. Sasha said hurry back.”
He nodded and walked over to Casey. He hugged her tight and kissed her cheek.
“Behave, Angel.”
“Come back to me, Daddy.”
“I will. I love you.”
“Love you, too.”
He stood back up and walked out of the door. Sasha stepped to the side to avoid him running into her. She turned to face Aiden and stood on her tippy toes to brush a kiss over his neck.
‘I love you, handsome face.’
‘I love you, too, you crazy person,’ he retorted.
She laughed softly in his head as she walked out and took to the skies to follow Slonsky’s vehicle as it drove down the road.
