Chapter 64
Sasha
“Lani, when we get to lunch, we need to talk to the men. I’m so over sitting here, twiddling my damn thumbs together. This is old. I want this to be over and we can’t do that if the stupid men won’t let us in to help.”
Kalani nodded in agreement, stopping in the middle of the hallway to turn towards Sasha. She held up her hand in front of her and waited for Sasha to curl her fingers around hers.
“I got your back, Sis.”
Sasha smiled at her. “You’ve always been my forever, babe.”
Kalani met her eyes. “And you’ve always been mine.” She grinned evilly. “Shall we go terrify our men? It’s been like a week since I yelled at Aiden. He needs to be reminded that my little sister perks are still active.”
Sasha hugged her quickly, laughing and they began to make their way to the dining hall. They walked in and were both shocked to see it empty except for their mates, the other two members of the royal family, Ethan, the council and the council’s mates. They glanced at each other.
‘Well, damn. I wanted to yell at him in front of people again,’ Kalani complained in her head.
Sasha laughed out loud and tilted her head at the table where Aiden was already watching them suspiciously. Kalani leaned over it to give her mate a kiss, before glaring at Aiden, who sighed.
“I know I’m a piece of shit and I don't deserve your sister, but may I at least know what I did before you scream at me, ya’ little banshee?!,” he asked.
Everyone laughed and the atmosphere relaxed. Kalani narrowed her eyes.
“Oh, now you’ve done it, Aid,” Gregory chuckled.
Galina exhaled and a stream of fire shot out of her mouth. It licked along the table and the smell of burnt food filled the air. Jealousy filled Sasha. Her and Irina still had yet to shift and they didn’t understand why. They had been able to shift enough to mark Aiden, but after that, nothing. They had spent hours trying to force a shift to no avail. All they had done was totally exhaust themselves to the point of collapse and Kalani had been forced to carry her back up to her room where she had then slept for two days. Kalani yelling at Aiden cut through her thoughts.
“AND ANOTHER THING YOU ASSHOLE, SASHA WAS THE BEST TRACKER TURSUM EVER HAD! INSTEAD OF TRYING TO BE THE BIG BAD CAVEMAN, TRY TO EMBRACE THE SKILLS YOUR WOMEN HAVE. YOU THINK WE ARE PORCELAIN AND THAT WE WILL BREAK. YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW SASHA AND I CAN WHOOP ANYBODY YOU PUT US UP AGAINST!”
“When we find them, I promise you two will be allowed to be there, but not before then. We can handle finding them,” Aiden argued.
Kalani jumped onto the table with a growl and kicked at him. Aiden shifted, barely avoiding her foot in his face. Sasha sighed and leaned back. Her little sister was absolutely livid. Everyone thought she was weak and unable to protect herself, but she had been trained to be just as fierce as Sasha. They had hid her capabilities on the off chance that they needed to take someone by surprise. All of her girls were trained secretly. They could all whoop ass and it would surprise everyone. What they lacked in speed and strength, they made up for in agility, stamina and moxie. Though Sherri would have to be trained to incorporate the gift Kalani had gi- Kalani flew past her and she turned her head to glare at Aiden, who put his hands up in apology. Kalani immediately leapt back towards the king and Gregory snatched her out of the air. She struggled in his grasp.
“BRING IT ON YOU MOTHERFUCKER!”
Sasha clapped her hands to get their attention. “Enough. Aiden, let us help you. We should be doing this together. We are a team.”
“No! This is for the council, the beta, gamma and I to handle,” he argued.
Sasha straightened up. “So, what does that make me? Chop suey?”
He ran his fingers angrily through his hair. “You know that’s not what it is, Ash.”
She tilted her head, looking for all the world to see like a dog trying to understand what their humans were saying.
“Then, please enlighten me as to what it is?”
Aiden looked helplessly at Lukas who shrugged, smirking. “Happy wife, happy life, bro. Afraid there’s nothing I can do to help you out.”
“For fuck’s sake, Luke.”
The door opened and a stunning brunette with hazel eyes glided in. She froze as her eyes moved excruciatingly slowly over the people in attendance, before they came to rest on Ethan. Her eyes narrowed angrily for a second, before she smiled.
“Lukey boy, has been learning all the latest lingo for his itty bitty wittle mate. A+ for the correct usage. Also, my apologies for being late, I pulled a testerone move, not asking for directions when I got turned around.” She shrugged. “You know, caveman shit and all,” she teased, winking at Kalani who giggled.
“Oh, I like her. You tell them, girl!”
Sasha took a step in front of Aiden as she studied the perfect beauty that had just arrived.
“And who in the hell are you?”
She laughed, slapping her own forehead. “My bad, I’m Jo.” She thrust her thumb in Lukas’s direction. “I’m the better half of his ruling team.”
He growled. “Her name is JoAnn and she is my beta, but if she keeps talking to me like that she is going to be the former beta, ‘cuz I’m going to show her the meaning of a alpha and omega.”
Her head fell back as wind chime laughter poured from her. “You're just mad mine’s bigger, little bitch.”
Kalani clapped her hands excitedly. “Oh, yes, I really like this girl. Can we keep her?”
She approached the table and bowed low to Sasha and Kalani. “Good evening, Your Royal Highnesses. It is my absolute pleasure to be here in the Dragão Clan.”
Sasha’s back straightened upright as Irina took control. She put her hand on Jo’s shoulder.
“We are all family here, but I will say what Sasha won’t. Keep your eyes off of my mate.”
She laughed again and an easy smile graced her lips. “No worries, there, honey.”
Lukas burst out laughing and she winked at Sasha before moving towards Kalani. Her eyes ran slowly over Kalani’s body, before doing the same to Sasha.
“Seems to me, Boss, they got all the good genes. What in the hell happened to you?”
“Shut up, Jo. You interrupted their fight. It was amusing to see that big ass man right there get his ass kicked by that minuscule one right there.”
“I heard. I do have an idea that might satisfy all parties.”
Aiden raised an eyebrow. “Do tell, because I’m out of ideas to use to convince them it’s safer here at home.”
“How about a competition? Girls against boys and the winner decides who gets to look for the wolf.”
“I am so in,” Kalani immediately responded.
Aiden growled. “That’s not helpful at all. Fine, I will agree, but I get to set the rules.”
Sasha smirked. “Fine, then I’ll decide the date.” She pretended to think. “Tomorrow and all of my girls are in.”
The council instantly began to argue against it while their mates grinned excitedly. Lukas laughed again.
“Looks to me, Aiden, like you just lost this battle.”
“Well, fuck. Fine, but you have to swear to abide by the rules when we win.”
She leaned across the table to lick the tip of his nose while her eyes glinted at him. “You’re not winning. We are going to kick your asses.”
He grabbed her wrist and pulled her onto his lap, looking into her eyes. “There will be no rules. Anything goes. Only rules are, once your opponent surrenders, you cease to attack. I will bring 20 men.”
She smirked at him. “It will be just me and my girls.”
Ana leapt to her feet. “I want to help!”
Sasha sighed. “And Ana.”
Jo clucked her tongue. “Can I play with the boys, too, Queen Sasha?”
Lukas grinned. “You should be on our team, Jo.”
She rolled her eyes. “In your dreams, dude! I still have a vagina!”
“Ha! Barely!,” he retorted.
Sasha groaned. “Fine, me, my girls, including Ana and Jo. That’s 7 girls.”
Ethan sat back in his chair. “You’re gonna need more than 20, Sire. Or the better idea is to forfeit now and save yourself from defeat.”
“We can take some women, Ethan. Gregory trained my men.”
Ethan chuckled as he sat forward. “And Sasha trained me and them. All I will say is good luck.”
Aiden paled a little as he looked at his mate on his lap, grinning proudly. “We’re gonna lose aren’t we?”
She pressed a kiss to his lips and got up. “You bet your sweet ass you are! We’ll be gentle, Aidy Poo,” she told him mockingly. “I promise.”
“Well, fuck!,” he muttered as he watched her saunter out of the hall with the other women following her. “My bad, guys.”
