Chapter 56

Sasha allowed the storm raging around her to infuriate her even more. The wind whipped around her and the almost sharp raindrops pelted her skin leaving little welts on it. After trying to get comfortable for the hundredth time, she sighed. She rolled over onto her stomach. Irina pushed forward, wanting her to play with Mikhail. She needed her mate and frankly, so did Sasha. She pushed herself up and walked across his back to his wing. It flapped and she was knocked backward. She slid across his back and his head jerked around to look at her.
‘Are you okay, baby? Are you hurt?,’ his voice immediately asked in her head, his worry evident.
She smiled at him, before taking a running leap off of him into the sky, grabbing his neck. He shook his head, dislodging her. He grabbed her shirt as she fell, before tossing her back into the air. He watched her throw her arms out and close her eyes. He wished she had her hair down so he could watch it fall around her body.
He shot up, spinning in the air. She laughed as he passed her. She slid her fingers along his scales and the electricity that arched between them was greater than the energy from the storm. He shifted back to press a quick kiss to her lips, before letting Mikhail take over again. He maintained their human body. He floated over her, watching her as she fell. She fell faster than he did. He let her continue to drop, smiling at her fully relaxed body. His eyes darkened suddenly and he shifted back, angling his body down. She giggled when she saw him struggling to get to her. She rolled over and her breath whooshed out when she saw Ethan’s black dragon a few yards beneath them.
She was suddenly surrounded by fire and was yanked backwards by her hair. She screamed and arms went around her waist. She was pulled back against a hard chest as it rumbled with a growl. She tilted her head back to glare up at him as anger took her over. Even Irina was livid. He tossed her up in the air. She knew he was trying to start their game up again, but she grabbed hold of Galina’s tail, ignoring his attempt. Galina’s head whipped around to stare at her. She raised her tail and Sasha slid down onto her back. Her body wavered before she lost her dragon form fully. A howl came from behind them, as they fell through the air. Sasha closed her eyes, gulping hard, waiting to land. She didn’t expect it to be so quick and she didn’t expect it to be Dayan that caught her. She rolled to a stop against Kalani who immediately hugged her close.
‘Baby, are you okay?,’ Mikhail cried through their link.
She ignored him.
“You okay, Aja?”
She sniffled and clung to her sister. “No. Why is he so jealous? I only want him.”
Kalani brushed her sister’s hair back. “He just loves you. Gregory told me that the mate bond works both ways. Do you remember when you attacked me in the kitchen and that concubine girl in the dining room over the king?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s the same with him and now Ethan is here. I know if I heard Ethan say he loved you, Aiden did, too. You have to overlook his jealousy. He is just scared he is going to lose you to Ehtan.”
“But he’s not. I love Aiden and Mikhail.”
“Maybe, you should show him, because I’m sure he is feeling really insecure right now.”
Sasha crawled to the edge of Dayan’s back and peered over. Mikhail flew a few yards beneath them with his head down. Sasha sighed.
“He never got mad at me, did he?”
“No. He loved it. He told me that it made him feel wanted.”
She smiled softly as she thought about the explosive shower they shared together when he had told her about Lilac. The level of jealousy that had started to blossom until he had made it clear in the very same shower that she was everything he wanted. The only thing he wanted. She sighed.
“We are foolish aren’t we?,” she asked Kalani fondly.
“A little,” she agreed, grinning.
Sasha stood up and smiled at Kalani.
“A little help?,” she joked, pointing at the end of Dayan’s tail.
Her eyes glazed over for a second, before she nodded. Dayan’s wings flapped faster, making them shoot forward. Sasha took a running leap off his back, twisted her body in midair and grabbed Mikhail’s neck. She slid down it a little until her fingers found a dip between his scales to stop herself. She climbed his neck like a ladder and sprawled on his humongous head. She pressed a kiss onto it, snuggling between his eyes.
“I love you, Aiden! I love you, Mikhail!,” she screamed, knowing that each and every dragon in their small group would hear her.
She felt his happiness through their bond and she pressed another kiss to his forehead. He tossed her up and breathed out a stream of fire. It heated the air, making her float in front of him. She giggled and let her limbs spread out. She dozed off between the heat around her and the feeling of being weightless.

Sasha screamed as fear consumed her. Her body fell out of the sky. She thrashed and tried to grasp Mikhail’s scales, but her fingers slid over their smoothness. She rolled in the air and panicked when the ground was looming closer faster than ever before. She closed her eyes and braced for impact. Wings grabbed her, pulling her up to someone’s body, before wrapping tightly around her. Aiden pressed her face into his chest, holding it in place as they slammed into the ground. They rolled a thousand feet before hitting the side of a building. Aiden grunted and lifted himself up to look down at her.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes. I’m sorry. I… I had a nightmare.”
“What was it about?”
“How you die,” she whimpered.
He leaned down to kiss her, before resting his forehead against hers. “I’m not going to die, baby. I have too much to live for.”
She swallowed hard. “I hope so.” She looked around, taking in the gate and the few people that were gathered around them, curiously. “Where are we?”
“We are just outside of the Night Howlers Pack.”
He eyed her. ‘You have to let me lead. There are rules we have to abide by.’
‘Just make sure we get our egg back. That is all I want.’
He pecked her lips again. ‘Thank you, My Queen.’
He stood up and his wings folded back into his body. He put his arm over her shoulders to walk her to the guards.
“I am Aiden, King of the Dragão Clan, and this is Sasha, Queen of the Dragão Clan. We come wishing to obtain an audience with Alpha Raul.”
The gates were opened within seconds and they walked through followed by the 7 unshifted dragons with them. Aiden led her to a giant building where four men waited outside for them. A tall man with silver hair and blue eyes stepped forward, holding his hand out to Aiden.
“King Aiden. What a pleasure this is. What can I do for you?”
“We came looking for Tiffany Soma. We were told she was coming here.”
“And may I ask what is the rush in finding her?”
“She has something that belongs to my queen and I. We want it back.”
“Well, I hate to be the one to have to inform you, but she left about an hour ago.”
Sasha growled, making the Alpha smirk at her.
“You should teach your ‘Queen’ the rules on how we work, Your highness.”
Aiden raised an eyebrow. “Let's be real with each other, Alpha Raul. You are lucky she has not given orders to level your pack, which if she did, I would be the first one to obey. Now, it would be wise to answer her questions quickly and respectfully.”
“This is not how business is conducted. You are on my land. I am in charge here. I-”
Sasha walked up to him to poke him in the chest. “Where did she go and who warned her we were coming?”
Her aura came out and the alpha’s legs buckled. “She- she went to the Lotus Clan with the dragon boy.”
“And who warned her?”
A laugh drew her attention. Aiden gasped.
“I thought Sasha killed you,” he said to a grinning Anastasia.
She laughed again. “My worthless daughter would never finish the job. You’re still here aren’t you, your highness?,” she asked sarcastically.
“She only gave her darling mother a warning. She healed herself, but with the severity of the wound it took a few hours. Isn’t that right, mate?,” her father informed everyone as he stepped forward with his eyes glued to Anastasia.
She rolled her eyes. “I had so hoped you had died.”
“So sorry to disappoint you.” He took another step towards her. “It’s time, Stasia.”
Her hands fisted by her side. “Time for what?”
His hand shifted as he swung it towards her. He dragged it down her face and torso. He breathed out fire and her mother screamed. Her father glared at her.
“Now, I will always know where you are,” he told her.
My Mate's a What?
