Chapter 70

Sasha
Sasha, Kalani and Ana walked over to where Lily sat chatting with Jo, who was hanging onto every word she was saying. They sat with them, tuning into the conversation. Lily was telling Jo about her art. According to her, her favorite form was painting portraits.
“Lily, would you like to start our activity today?,” Sasha asked.
She fell silent and everyone could tell that she was nervous.
“What are you going to do to me?,” she asked Sasha.
Sasha gave her a big smile. “I want to see if I can help your leg and arm, sweetheart,” she answered, hoping that it would help Lily relax some.
“Are you going to hurt me?”
“No.”
Kalani leaned across the table to take her hands. “She’s healed me before. I promise, if this works, you will feel a lot better. You won’t be in as much pain.”
Lily looked at Jo and Ana. “Will you stay with me?,” she requested, her voice holding a tremor of panic.
They both nodded. Lily sighed and got up. Ana took her hand while Jo hovered behind her, like a wraith waiting for them to misstep so she could steal their souls. Sasha led them to Lily’s room where she handed Jo a dagger. Lily cried out and tried to dart out of the room. Sasha caught her and pulled her sobbing body against her.
“Shhh, sweetheart, shhh. I had to take it out of my pocket so I didn’t stab myself. Jo will take it out of the room. You’re okay. I promise.”
Jo quickly collected Kalani’s knife and stepped out of the room. Sasha led Lily to the bed and had her lay down. Sasha laid on the bed facing her.
“Trust me, Lily, or this won’t work.”
She nodded and took a deep breath. “Do you promise not to hurt me?”
Sasha took her hand and placed it between them on the pillows. “I promise you with everything I am, we will not hurt you.”
“Okay. I’m ready. What do I do?”
“Well, first, I am going to tell you what’s going to happen so you’re not surprised. The first thing that is going to happen, is that I will be entering your body as a ball of light. If you let me in, you will get sleepy as your spirit will gather itself in a ball and show me around to where you need my help to heal. My body will be here, but if you don’t fall asleep before I do, you will think I’m dead, but I’m not. If you get scared or nervous, all you have to do is tell me to leave and I will leave. This is entirely up to you and what you can handle.” She brushed Lily’s hair back. “Are you ready?”
Lily nodded. Sasha closed her eyes, breathing deep. She felt her body get heavy and her essence grew lighter. Another breath in and she was moving. She felt herself moving and she did her best to steer herself to the energy that was most in need. She felt a slight resistance when she tried to enter and she backed away, hovering patiently. Lily’s energy slowly relaxed and welcomed her in. She followed Lily’s iridescent soft pink energy. The amount of damage she saw in every vessel, every muscle and every nerve shocked her. The slow paced flickers along the nerves told her the severity of the damage was not going to be healed in one session. The energy guided her past all of it, until she got to her chest. The destruction in her heart would eventually prove fatal to the little girl. Blood pooled in the wrong chambers and her aorta had a small hole in it. Valves didn’t seal all the way and its rhythm was too slow. Sasha slowly moved around it, taking each piece into her energy and pushed healing energy into it. After she was done with it, Lily’s energy began to move rapidly through her body again. It showed her where her leg bones had fused together wrong. It explained why she limped. Sasha groaned, knowing that in order to fix it, she was going to have to break the bones to separate them and it was going to hurt.
She had promised her not to hurt her, but there was no other way to correct it. She moved to the bones and sent up a prayer that Lily didn’t eject her. She began to almost saw through the cartilage that held them together. Lily’s energy approached her, turning orange. Sasha cursed and backed away from the bones. She took Lily’s energy into hers and tried to convey what she was doing. Lily’s energy stopped pulsing heatedly and turned back to pink. Sasha returned to the task of separating the bones. Lily’s energy started pulsing again and Sasha moved faster.
‘We’re almost there, baby. Just hold on for me,’ she silently begged.
The bones broke apart and Lily’s energy exploded outwards, warning Sasha, who quickly positioned the bone where it needed to be and began to surround it. She pushed her healing energy out faster and harder. She could feel Lily screaming in pain. Suddenly, Lily’s energy dissipated and Sasha was left alone. Sasha began to panic and she almost pulled back. She felt a surge of power being thrust into it. It felt warm and inviting and she clung to it as she hurried to finish working on Lily’s bones. The familiar power kept being pushed through her body until the bones were completely in place and ready to finish healing by themselves. She left Lily’s body and went back to her own. She opened her eyes with a gasp, before rolling over and vomiting all over the floor. Tears poured down her face and Ana knelt in front of her.
“Lani! Where’s Lani?”
Ana rubbed her back, murmuring softly to her.
“LANI!,” she screamed and threw up again.
“Shhh, Aja. Stop yelling. My head is killing me.”
“Check Lily. She just disappeared on me.”
“I put her to sleep while I was in her mind. I am so tired. What you do is way harder than what I do.”
Sasha rolled over, still dry heaving to look at her sisters, both of them. Lily was breathing shallowly and Kalani was on her other side, holding her tight. Lani lifted her eyes to meet Sasha’s.
“She’s so broken,” she whispered.
Sasha tensed up angrily. “She is not broken,” she snarled. “She just has minor physical issues.”
Lani shook her head while more tears cascaded her cheeks. “Mentally, Aja. She is mentally broken. She has been through so much. It makes our childhood look like perfection.” She paused to nuzzle into Lily’s cheek. “She is so sad. They all hurt her. Even her teachers. Everybody. They hit her and they burn her. There’s one boy at school who claws her everyday.” She looked up at her miserably. “We need to fix it. She can’t keep going like this. She deserves so much better than this. She is so sweet and just wants to be loved.”
Sasha scooted closer to Lily, wrapping herself around both of them. She took Lani’s hand.
“I will talk to Aiden. He will know what to do.”
Lani just nodded, stroking her fingers over Lily’s face.
“Aja, do you think she will be mad?”
“About what?”
“I know she said she didn’t want a dragon, but I left one in her. She deserves it more than anybody.”
Sasha sighed. “No, I don’t think so. I was reading up on your powers, too. Even though she has one now, it will still be her choice to accept it. If she doesn’t, the dragon will remain dormant.”
Jo sat on the edge of the bed behind Kalani. “Ladies, you both need to sleep. I can help you to your rooms while Ana stays here with Lily.”
Sasha kissed Lily’s cheek. “No, Jo. We want to be here when she wakes up. It will make her feel better. Besides, I hurt her. I want to apologize.”
“I know you did. She screamed.” Jo fell silent to study Lily’s face. “Did you fix whatever you were fixing when you hurt her?”
“Yeah.”
“Good. She won’t have to go through it again.”
“No, but she will have a long road ahead of her to fully recover and we will need at least two more of these sessions to completely heal her.”
Jo nodded. “I figured we might. There is a lot you can pick up from a scent. She was in a lot of pain. I don’t smell as much as agony now. Get some rest. Ana and I will stand guard.”
Sasha put her arm over both of the girls laying next to her. One she had loved her entire life, both of them she would love for the rest of all of their lives. She just hoped that Aiden could help out at her school. She didn’t want to have to kill all of those little fuckers, but she would if she had to. Lily may be Lukas’ mate, but she was now Sasha’s little sister and to Sasha, that would always trump the mate bond.
