Chapter 126 Farewell
The next morning, Henry and Jennifer were leaving. The entire Lowell family came out to see them off.
Tina, seeing Leonard, instinctively turned her head away.
'After witnessing him and Jennifer last night, I'm so nervous today. He's just my brother; why am I so anxious?' Tina thought, trying to calm herself.
"Tina, are you okay? Your face looks red," Leonard asked, noticing Tina's unusual behavior.
"I'm fine. Really, I'm fine. Thanks for asking," Tina replied, forcing a smile.
'Damn, why am I being so polite to him? Am I scared of the side of him I saw last night?' Tina wondered, recalling Leonard forcing Jennifer to call him master.
Outside, Jennifer turned and waved at Mrs. Romy as she got into the car. "Thanks for your hospitality, Romy. See you next time!"
Mrs. Romy, caught off guard by Jennifer's sudden farewell, waved back instinctively. "See you next time, Jennifer. You're always welcome."
As Jennifer drove away, Mr. Lowell turned to his wife, curious. "Honey, did you get that close to Jennifer in just two days?"
Mrs. Romy shook her head in confusion. "I only took her to the beach once. I didn't expect her to be so enthusiastic."
Tina, watching this, glanced at Leonard standing beside Mrs. Romy. 'Jennifer wasn't saying goodbye to Mom. She wanted to tell Leonard she'd be back... How annoying! Why is an old woman coveting my young brother? So disgusting!'
After lunch, Mr. Lowell went back to work. Mrs. Romy went shopping for dinner ingredients. Scarlett had plans to go swimming with Julie, leaving only Tina and Leonard at home.
In the living room, Tina and Leonard were watching a TV documentary about animals.
'What should I do? Leonard sitting next to me makes me so nervous,' Tina thought, her face flushed and heart racing. She glanced at Leonard, who was engrossed in the TV.
"Tina, are you sure you're okay? You seem strange," Leonard said suddenly, startling Tina.
"I'm fine. Really, I'm fine. Maybe the TV show isn't very interesting," Tina replied awkwardly.
"Not interesting? I think the cheetahs are pretty cool!" Leonard said, puzzled, looking at the TV.
At that moment, the TV showed a male cheetah mounting a female cheetah, engaging in mating. The narrator's voice came on.
"It's mating season, and these cheetahs are performing the act of procreation in the bushes. Look at how the male's strength makes the female cry out..."
The narration made Tina's face even redder. She snatched the remote from Leonard and changed the channel.
The new channel showed a drama with the lead couple passionately kissing in bed. Tina quickly changed the channel again.
This time, it was a reality show where a male contestant lifted a female contestant and kissed her. The longest-lasting couple would win a prize.
Tina's breathing quickened, and she changed the channel again. This time, it was a cartoon about a male duck comically courting a female duck.
'Damn, why are all these shows about love? Isn't there anything normal... Oh, a news report on the president's foreign visit. Perfect! There won't be any love scenes in the news, right?' Tina thought, hopeful. On the screen, the president placed a beautiful lei around the first lady's neck and kissed her cheek.
"Damn! What's wrong with this world?" Tina muttered, blushing and breathing heavily as she frantically pressed the remote.
Finally, the TV returned to the animal documentary. Leonard grabbed Tina's hand, stopping her. "Tina, what's wrong with you?"
Tina looked at Leonard, panting, her mind replaying the scenes of Leonard and Jennifer from last night.
Suddenly, Tina lowered her head, having made up her mind. In a soft voice, she said to Leonard, "Leonard, actually... I'm in my safe period today."
Leonard stared at Tina, stunned.
