Chapter 143 Departure for Washington
Leonard and Romy didn't stay at the hotel long. Returning home immediately after their lovemaking session.
Upon returning home, Romy's first task was to prepare dinner. Leonard, on the other hand, wished only to retreat to his room and rid himself of the constrictive shirt he wore, preferring the comfort of loose clothing.
On his way back to his room, he encountered Scarlett emerging from her bedroom.
Scarlett seized his arm and asked, "How did the talk with Julie's father go?"
Leonard shrugged. "Professor Steve was very busy today, so we agreed to talk another time."
Having said that, he prepared to retreat to his room.
However, Scarlett queried from behind, "How long are you going to avoid me?"
Leonard paused momentarily at the door, not turning around as he responded in a solemn tone, "Until you make amends with Tina; I will not interact with either of you."
With that, he entered his room, leaving Scarlett to fume alone.
During dinner, Romy received a call from Jennifer.
"Oh, really? Alright, I understand, I'll let him know; he'll be delighted. But I need to discuss this with the family first." Romy ended the call, her excitement palpable.
Lowell, curious, asked, "What's got you so happy?"
Romy put down her phone and explained, "That was Jennifer, she wants to invite Leonard and me to Washington. She says since both Lowell and the girls have been, it's our turn."
"Is that so? That's wonderful! You've been home for so long; it'll be a good chance to relax," Lowell agreed, while Tina lowered her eyes.
'Why would Jennifer suddenly invite Leonard? Does she plan on doing something with him? Using Mom as a cover?' Tina glanced at Leonard, noticing his happy expression.
"Leonard, you seem quite pleased. Haven't you always been against going to Washington?" Lowell asked Leonard.
Leonard smiled. "I think it's time I face my fears and explore. This trip to Washington will be a good start. Plus, I've heard it's a great place."
'The real attraction is Jennifer, isn't it, Leonard?' Tina thought, rolling her eyes internally.
"Well then, Leonard and I will leave tomorrow. Take care while I'm away. I remember the last time we went to Washington, Leonard was so small and would hide behind me..." Romy reminisced, struggling to reconcile the innocent Leonard from her memories with the man standing before her.
Meanwhile, at a restaurant in Washington, Jennifer hung up the phone.
Across from her, Henry remarked, "I've got a lot on my plate these days, so you'll have to handle their itinerary."
"No problem, trust me. I'll make sure they have a great time," Jennifer replied, a strange glint in her eye. As Henry looked down at his meal, she licked her lips, a seductive expression crossing her beautiful face.
The next day, Leonard and Romy's flight landed at the airport. As they emerged from the terminal, Jennifer was there to greet them.
"Hey, over here, Romy, Leonard!" Jennifer waved to them, her black shirt and skirt drawing the attention of many onlookers.
"Jennifer, good afternoon!" greeted Leonard warmly.
"Thank you for hosting us, Jennifer. By the way, could you show me to the restroom?" Romy asked.
"The restroom is this way, I'll take you." Jennifer led them towards the restrooms.
While Romy was away, Leonard sidled up to Jennifer.
"My dear Jennifer, I've missed you so much," he whispered in her ear, his hand caressing her booty.
