Chapter 88 Arriving in the Countryside
The bus continued its journey to the countryside. The driver glanced in the rearview mirror, puzzled by the sudden scream from the woman in the back row.
Mrs. Romy's face was as red as blood. She couldn't believe she had orgasmed from a dream.
"Leonard, did I say anything strange while I was asleep?" Mrs. Romy asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Leonard shook his head. "No, Aunt Romy, you were very quiet."
His answer reassured Mrs. Romy. If she had made those noises on the bus, she would have been mortified and might have jumped out of the window.
"Aunt Romy, did you have a dream?" Leonard asked quietly.
Mrs. Romy blushed, thinking of the dream's scenes. "No, I was just... looking for a bathroom."
"I see. Well, we're almost there. Just hold on a bit longer," Leonard said, smiling as he turned back to the window.
Mrs. Romy forced a stiff smile. 'How could I tell Leonard about such a lewd dream? But...'
She glanced at Leonard's profile. 'Leonard was so wicked in the dream, but the real Leonard is so innocent. Reality is better.'
Mrs. Romy took a deep breath, calming her racing heart.
After traveling a bit longer, they finally arrived at their destination. Leonard jumped off the bus, excitedly taking in the surroundings. The air was fresh with the scent of earth and grass, free from the city's pollution, and the sky was a clearer blue.
"Aunt Romy, the countryside is amazing!" Leonard exclaimed, running joyfully on the grass.
Mrs. Romy watched him, feeling a sense of relief. She let her hair down, spreading her arms to embrace the countryside breeze.
'How long has it been since I last felt this relaxed? Being a wife and mother is so exhausting,' she thought, standing for a few minutes before reluctantly calling Leonard to leave.
When they reached their destination, they found the door locked, and Mrs. Romy's mother was not home.
Mrs. Romy immediately called her mother.
"Aunt Romy, what did Grandma say?" Leonard asked.
Mrs. Romy hung up and sighed. "She said a neighbor invited her to a hot spring, and she won't be back for a couple of days. We'll have to stay here for a bit longer."
Leonard didn't show any disappointment; instead, he cheered. "Great, I can enjoy the countryside for a few more days!"
Seeing Leonard's excitement, Mrs. Romy thought, 'Leonard finds the countryside novel. Once he's bored, I'll send him back.'
"Let's go inside," she said, finding the key and unlocking the door.
Inside, there were no luxurious ingredients, only some vegetables. Mrs. Romy made a simple salad, which Leonard enjoyed immensely.
"These vegetables are so fresh! Aunt Romy, let's bring some back home!" Leonard suggested.
Mrs. Romy nodded, feeling comforted by Leonard's innocence.
At night, Mrs. Romy faced a dilemma. There was only one bed, meaning one of them would have to sleep on the floor.
"Aunt Romy, I'll sleep on the floor. You've had a long day; you should take the bed," Leonard suggested, lying down on the floor before she could respond.
"Thank you, Leonard. You're such a good boy," Mrs. Romy said, smiling tiredly as she lay on the bed.
Late at night, a wolf's howl woke Mrs. Romy.
"Are there wolves here?" she wondered, glancing fearfully out the window. A shadow outside made her jump.
'Even if wolves can't get inside, I'm still scared,' she thought, looking at Leonard, who was sleeping soundly.
'Should I sleep with Leonard? I'd feel safer,' she thought but hesitated, recalling the dream on the bus.
Outside the window, another howl echoed, prompting Mrs. Romy to finally shed her hesitation. She climbed into Leonard's quilt.
