Chapter 223 Someone Wants to Deal with Lowell

Scarlett spat out all the water in her mouth, which was mixed with some milky white liquid.

"My dear brother, I thought you could last 30 minutes," Scarlett teased, holding Leonard's now flaccid shaft between two fingers.

Leonard panted heavily, pulling Scarlett into his arms.

"All right, I admit I lost," Leonard said, playing with her breasts.

Scarlett traced circles on Leonard's chest with her fingers. "So, can you tell me why you went to Washington?"

Leonard nodded. "I went to Washington to attend a tech exhibition ... Ah!"

Leonard's sentence was interrupted by a scream as Scarlett pinched his nipple hard with two fingers.

"I learned a few other things too. If you try to fool me with a lame lie like that again, I won't hesitate to use them on you," Scarlett threatened, glaring at Leonard.

Leonard pushed Scarlett's hand away and rolled his eyes. "My dear sister, I hadn't finished speaking. There's no need to be so impatient!"

Scarlett gently rubbed Leonard's sore nipple, signaling him to continue.

"At the tech exhibition, I met a woman with burgundy hair. She told me that my parents' death wasn't an accident but it was Uncle Lowell's conspiracy," Leonard said, watching Scarlett's eyes widen in shock.

"After saying that, the woman left, and I was stunned until Aunt Jennifer realized something was wrong and contacted Romy," Leonard sighed deeply after finishing his explanation.

Scarlett sat up, looking very serious. "Impossible. My father is a good man. He couldn't have done this!"

Leonard smiled at Scarlett's serious expression. "I don't think it's likely either. If what she said was true, why would Uncle Lowell adopt me?"

"What else did the woman say?" Scarlett asked anxiously.

Leonard tilted his head on thought. "She said that the truck driver who killed my parents died of cancer in prison shortly afterward. It was too much of a coincidence. She believed the truck driver was paid to do it."

"And then? What did you do? Did you verify her claims?" Scarlett asked again.

Leonard nodded. "Aunt Jennifer asked a friend at the police station to check the records from that time. During my parents' accident, the truck driver didn't receive any payments, so that it might have just been an accident, and someone is using that coincidence to ruin my relationship with Uncle Lowell."

Scarlett sighed in relief at Leonard's explanation, then slapped the bed angrily. "Why would that damn woman do such a thing?"

Leonard shrugged, spreading his hands in a helpless gesture. "Aunt Jennifer speculated that the woman might have been sent by Uncle Lowell's rival company, aiming to burden him with family issues and hinder his career."

Scarlett scoffed at the idea. "My father is so dedicated to his work. How could something like this hinder him? That woman is just a spiteful person who can't stand the happiness of others. By the way, could she be one of my dad's ex-girlfriends?"

Leonard had originally made up a lie to appease Scarlett, not expecting her to come up with such an idea.

"Actually, Aunt Jennifer had the same suspicions, but according to Romy, Uncle Lowell only ever dated one woman," Leonard said awkwardly.

Scarlett scoffed. "Only someone as naive as you or my mom would believe such nonsense. Men always tell each of their wives, 'You are my first love.' It's a good thing you haven't learned to be that deceitful yet."

Leonard's mouth twitched, not expecting Scarlett to criticize her father like that.

In Mrs. Romy's room, Lowell was sleeping when he suddenly sneezed, waking up.

"Strange, I feel like someone is talking bad about me," Lowell mumbled, rubbing his nose.
