Chapter 146 The Enigma of the Car Accident

A persistent nightmare haunted Leonard's heart—the car accident when he was three.

The weather was splendid that day as Leonard's family enjoyed the pleasures of a road trip. Music filled the car, and Frank Eugene, Leonard's father, narrated the wonders of Washington, D.C.

Young Leonard and his mother, Martha, sat in the back seat, listening to Frank's storytelling.

"I planned to meet Lowell in Washington this time and enjoy some fun with his family. By the way, Leonard, your Uncle Lowell has two daughters, and they'll surely adore you, little one." Frank glanced in the rearview mirror. Young Leonard, adorable as ever, held a toy robot in his hands.

"Leonard is the most adorable child in the world; no one could dislike him," Martha said, stroking Leonard's hair and planting a kiss on his forehead.

Suddenly, Leonard heard a piercing car horn, followed by his father's roar, his mother's scream, and finally a massive crash. He felt his mother clutch him tight, and his body uncontrollably flipped. His mind swirled, and then everything went black.

He felt like he was dreaming for a long time, hearing many sirens and strange voices shouting.

"There's a child alive here! Quick! Ambulance!"

Leonard forced his eyes open, seeing firefighters, police officers, and an ambulance. Two stretchers covered with white sheets were nearby. He only found out later at the hospital that those stretchers held his parents.

After several years of being adopted by relatives, Lowell took him back and raised him until he was 18.

He often dreamed of that crash; it remained a horrific nightmare. Although the driver had confessed, claiming it was a drunk driving accident, he sensed something was amiss as he grew older.

Back in the present, Leonard looked at Jennifer, hoping she could provide some answers.

Jennifer shook her head with some distress. "I didn't know your father well. When the accident happened, I had just married Henry. All I know is that your father and Lowell were close friends who co-founded a company together, with your father providing the capital and Lowell managing it. My husband Henry used to work for your father but later resigned to start his own company. They remained good friends, and I heard your father even supported Henry during his early days of entrepreneurship."

Leonard wasn't satisfied with Jennifer's account as he already knew this information. Just as Leonard thought Jennifer had no useful clues, he heard some surprising news.

"I remember Henry mentioning something long ago. The company your father and Lowell started was struggling at first, but after your father passed away, Lowell turned things around, and the company became profitable. Lowell even hired Henry as a consultant." Jennifer tilted her head, trying to recall the story Henry had told her.

After hearing Jennifer's story, Leonard remained silent. When Jennifer thought Leonard was sad, reminiscing about his late parents, she heard him laugh.

"Even though it's all in the past, it sounds quite fascinating now, like a mystery novel shrouded in conspiracy." Leonard's mouth curved into a smile as he gently stroked Jennifer's hair. His touch was soft, but the cold aura he emitted sent shivers through Jennifer.

"Thank you for telling me this, Jennifer. How should I reward you?" Leonard cupped Jennifer's chin, bent down, and stared into her eyes. Seeing Leonard's face slowly contort, Jennifer began to feel uneasy.

'Is Leonard planning to vent his negative emotions on me? If so, will he give me even more intense stimulation and pleasure?' Despite her nervousness, an outrageous thought surged in Jennifer's mind. Her eyes fixated on Leonard's member, watching it slowly erect...
