chapter 13: Impressed
Diva took her purse and ran behind Blaze. He didn't even look back as he continued walking.
"Blaze, hold up!" she hollered.
Blaze didn't stop walking though. He just started taking slow steps so that Diva could catch up with the pace.
"Can you drop me to the hospital?" she inquired.
He thought for a while. When he looked at her, he remembered the day Diva got sick because of himjust because he didn't give a drive.
"Fine."
Diva grinned at him and mumbled, "Thank you so much!"
They walked towards Blaze's car and she hopped in the passenger seat. She was excited because it was the first time her husband actually agreed to give her a ride.
As soon as the car started, Diva began speaking, "I was ready to give you a speech if you didn't agree to drop me at the hospital."
He didn't answer her. He didn't feel the need of replying.
She said, "I will go to the office after I visit Lina. I still have enough time before my office starts. That's why I told you to drive me to the hospital."
"Okay, " muttered Blaze, not knowing what to say in response.
Diva further spoke, "Lina is recuperating well. I was so tensed, you know. I wanted to go to the hospital yesterday but her mother didn't allow me to when Lina told her that I looked a little bit sick."
"Is she your childhood friend?" asked Blaze.
"Lina?" Diva glanced at him. "Of course! We have been friends sinceno, actually, even before our birth. Our mothers were best friends too." Her voice lowered in the end at the mention of her mother. Before sadness could engulf her, she shoved off the thought. "I will introduce you to her one day after she gets discharged."
Blaze didn't fail to notice her sadness. He stopped himself from asking about her parents with the fear of ruining her mood early in the morning.
"So," he cleared his throat and asked, "Why didn't you learn to drive?"
"Because I don't want to hurt anyone," she replied bluntly.
"Hurt anyone?"
"Yeah," Diva said, "I never learned driving because I didn't want to hurt anyone. Or worse, what if I end up killing them? I know a license assures that I can drive, which I should do safely, yet I am scared to hurt people."
"And your grandma had no problem with that?" he asked.
She shook her head. "Why would she have a problem? She was supportive about it though because Lina could drive."
"Does she think you are still living with Lina?"
"I don't have the audacity to tell her the truth. Not yet," she mumbled.
Diva and Blaze talked for a while in the car until they reached the hospital. Mostly, Diva did all the talking, and Blaze listened to her carefullynot wanting to skip any detail.

"Thanks for giving me a ride!" chirped Diva. She was about to get out of the car.
"Diva, wait." With a smile plastered on her face, she looked at Blaze, waiting for him to continue. He asked, "How will you go to the office?"
"I will manage it. Why are you asking, though?"
He was a little bit nervous about how to say what was going in his mind. Nonetheless, he let out, "Well, Lina used to take you to the office, and now, she is in the hospital, so..."
Diva waved her hand in mid-air. "Oh...don't worry about it. I will call an Uber." She took her phone and did something before flashing the screen in front of Blaze's eyes. "I love this app so much. It is so useful. I wonder what I will do without it. I"
"Okay," Blaze cut her 'Uber' advertisement short. "No need for that. I will send a driver for you."
Diva became silent for a while after hearing what Blaze said. She was shocked. "A driver who can take me anywhere anytime? Like, a full-time driver?" she questioned in disbelief.
He nodded, making her squeal in excitement.
"Thank you so much, Blaze!" she exclaimed in happiness. "Well, I must go inside. Lina must be waiting and I have to share this news with her. Bye!"
She didn't wait for another split second before opening the car door and sauntering away.
Blaze tightened his grip on the steering wheel and heaved a sigh, which he was holding back. He felt happy seeing her happy just because she would get a driver for herself.

"Really, Diva. What's wrong? You didn't tell me yet," said Lina.
Diva grinned. "Nothing is wrong. Why are you asking me that question repeatedly?"
Lina could see that Diva was extra happy today. Her eyes were glinting in happiness.
"What did Blaze do?" she inquired, looking at her best friend, whose eyes sparkled more at the mention of Blaze.
"Now that you asked, you wouldn't believe what he said!" Diva took a sip of her coffee before saying, "He said that he will get a personal driver for me so that I can go anywhere anytime I want."
Lina arched an eyebrow. "So the driver is making you happy?"
Chuckling, Diva shook her head. "No, silly. I am happy because Blaze and I are friends now. He is showing his concern, which is making me happy. He is trying to adjust with me just like I am."
"Really?"
"Yeah." Diva continued narrating what happened after she got back to the Hudson mansion from the hospital that day and how she and Blaze became friends.
Lina knew that it was the beginning of the love story of an extrovert and an introvert. She was more excited than anyone could be. After all, Diva was her best friend.

It was time for Diva to go to her office. She thought that Blaze would send a driver in the evening. He didn't have so much time during the morning because it was his busy hours. Therefore, Diva didn't even ask him when he would send the driver.
As soon as Diva got out of the hospital, she saw a black Mercedes, with a chauffeur standing next to it. When he saw Diva, he approached her and bowed as a form of greeting. Then he said, "Good morning, Ma'am. I am Kevin Garnett. I am assigned to be your chauffeur by Sir."
"Hello, Kevin. Please, call me 'Diva'. Do you know where I work?" she inquired.
"Yes, Ma'am." He opened the car door. "I can guarantee you that I will make you reach there safe and sound."
Smiling brightly, Diva got into the car. She couldn't deny that she was getting slightly impressed by Blaze.
