chapter 33: Game Progress

Four weeks had passed. The progress for creating Diva's dream game was very good. Diva kept herself busy while she continued working on the game.
Ever since the kiss, she maintained a little distance from Blaze, out of embarrassment. Whenever her mind would go back into the kiss, she would remember Lina's words.
Diva didn't want to think about lovenot until she became successful in her career.
Being slightly bored in the game development studio, she looked around herself. Everyone was busy with their assigned work.
She sighed.
What is Blaze doing? she wondered.
"Let me go to his office," she mumbled and got up from her chair. Her eyes fell on the files for her game. "I can work on these codes there to kill my boredom."
She took the files and walked towards her husband's cabin. She knocked at the door, taking a deep breath.
"Come in," announced Blaze.
With a big grin on her face, Diva got inside. Blaze averted his gaze from the laptop, only to see his beautiful wife smiling brightly at him.
He arched an eyebrow. "Why do you have to knock?"
Twitching her lips, Diva plopped on one of the chairs. "I have manners. Knocking is the basic one."
Blaze's lips curled up into a smile. She was the only person who could bring different emotions out of him, the unusual emotions.
"What brings you here?"
"I am bored. I needed a change in the workplace, so I thought of coming here."
"So, you decided to work from your boss's office," he stated, amusement glinting in his voice.
"Yeah." Diva placed the files on the table.
Blaze put a hand on his chin, as he said, "And who said you have the permission to do so?"
Raising her eyebrows, Diva answered, "I don't need permission when my husband owns this place."
He twitched his lips. He liked it when she said 'my husband' instead of 'a friend'. He got up from his chair.
"Well, ma'am, you can work sitting at your husband's chair while I go and make some coffee for you."
"Give three spoons of sugar," she let out and sat on Blaze's chair after getting up. She opened the files and started doing her work.
Blaze headed towards the coffee maker. As he pressed the switch, he couldn't help but glance at Diva.
She put a pen on her cheek while reading the papers. A cute look covered her face. Blaze could feel his heartbeat fastened, seeing Diva. It was nothing new for him anymore. He was habituated to the rapid heartbeat each time she was around.
However, he didn't fail to notice a slight distance Diva was maintaining from him after their kiss, which was four weeks ago. He didn't say anything about it. Rather, he respected her space.
"Just admiring my best friend from afar won't transfer your feelings in her brain," a familiar voice spoke from behind, making Blaze flinch. He looked back only to find Lina.
"And how come you didn't knock, Lina?" he asked, slightly annoyed. They were on a first-name basis now.
Lina rolled her eyes. "I did, but I didn't hear any response. As I learned Diva was inside, so I thought of going in, only to find her busy at work while you..." she glanced at him with a smirk, "...busy in admiring my friend."
Blaze poured the coffee in three mugs. "How many spoons of sugar?" he asked Lina.
She smiled. "Three."
He handed her a mug and placed another in front of Diva. Taking his mug, he sat on the couch, checking his emails on his phone.
Lina greeted Diva and sat on another couch, not wanting to disturb her.
"Why don't you confess?" asked Lina, taking a sip of her coffee.
"What?" Blaze retorted.
"Your undying love for Diva."
He avoided her and continued checking his mail until Diva was done with her work.

"Blaze, do you think I am ugly?" Diva asked all of a sudden causing Blaze to stop the car.
"What? Why would you ask that?" He was beyond shocked. He didn't expect that question from Diva. After all, she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.
She went into her Instagram and showed a message to Blaze. "Look. This guy said I am ugly. So I wanted to ask if you think the same. I know different people have a different opinion but I don't want your opinion to match with his."
Blaze looked at the username. It was a fake account and he was sure of it. Once I go home, I will remove the existence of this account, he thought.
Ever since the Instagram post of Blaze and Diva together, Diva's followers have increased to a high amount. After all, she was the famous Blaze Hudson's wife. Usually, she got good comments, and if she got any hateful comments, Blaze would delete it before she could even read. He didn't want to get Diva hurt. He meant it when he said he would protect her, come what may.
"You didn't answer," she let out.
Blaze started the car once again. "No, Diva you aren't ugly. In fact, you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen."
Diva became quiet hearing him. Blaze thought she was beautiful. The thought made her blush slightly. She remembered the day Blaze kissed her. They never talked about it, but the Dej Vu feeling was still there within Diva. Somewhere in her heart, she wished that day never ended.
She wanted to feel Blaze's lips on hers again, but she quickly shoved off that thought.
No, Diva. Focus on the game! she scolded herself.
Suddenly, Diva's phone vibrated. She glanced at the screen. It was a message from Lina.
Lina: He loves you. I swear, he does!
Diva rolled her eyes.
I am muting this lady, thought Diva.
"Who was it, Diva?"
"Just some random advertisement text," she answered.
Blaze didn't ask anything else. None of them spoke a word. As if silence was peace.
After Diva muted Lina, she looked through the window. The shining stars were staring at her. I like Blaze, a lot. But is it love?
