chapter 17: Mrs. Hudson In The Office
Diva was working from home. After all, she hated going to the office. She shoved a spoonful of pastry in her mouth and continued editing. She was a chief editor, so she had many articles to edit and also assign others their assignments.
Besides, with Lina being in the hospital, Diva was really bored and had nothing to do but complete her tasks. Lina was supposed to be discharged today later on.
When a phone rang, it diverted Diva's attention. She checked the caller ID.
Blaze
Blaze is calling me at this hour. Something is wrong, she thought to herself.
She took a deep breath and received the call. "Hey! What's up?"
"I left an important file. Hand it to the driver I sent," he spoke at once.
Diva furrowed her eyebrows. She asked him, "And what should I do?"
"Hand it to the driver I sent," he repeated.
"Okay." Diva got up and further inquired, "Where is the file? I wonder how Blaze Hudson can forget such an important file."
"In the drawer of my room," he answered curtly, totally avoiding her remark.
She walked towards Blaze's room and frowned immediately. It looked classy yet too dull for Diva. "Why would you paint your room grey? It looks boring."
"Cause that's what I am."
Going towards the end of the room, she saw three drawers altogether. "Got it!"
"The file?" he inquired with eagerness.
But Blaze's eagerness ended when she answered, "Nope. I found the drawers."
He let out a deep sigh. "Well, then open it."
"Which one?"
"Third," he replied, looking at his wristwatch repeatedly. The file was very important for the meeting and he hated himself for being so reckless. He never did that.
"Third counting from upwards or downwards?"
He was getting more annoyed with the continuous questions of Diva. "Up."
Diva was opening the first drawer and kept questioning, "Will I get the file as soon as I open the drawer?"
"Yes, Diva."
After the drawer opened, she saw plenty of files. She was confused which needed to be picked. Blaze had all the boring colored files. "What color?"
"Grey." Before Diva could say anything else, Blaze asked, "Did you get the file?"
Diva took the grey file and checked the documents. "Is it about the deal with the Megamile Corporation?"
"Yeah. Hand it to the driver I sent."
"Okay." Diva didn't cut the call. She ran downstairs and looked for the driver. "He is not here yet, Blaze."
"Shit! My meeting starts in ten minutes, and Atlas took a day off today," he told her.
She could sense the tension in Blaze's voice. She understood the importance of the file.
"Just trust me. You will get it before the meeting starts," mumbled Diva and cut the call.
Blaze wondered how she would do that. But he had no option but to trust Diva.
Meanwhile, Diva ran back to her room and took out a fresh yellow-colored file. She exchanged the documents and ran towards the parking lot.
Kevin, her driver was already there. He was supposed to take her to the hospital.
"Hello, ma'am. Shall I take you to the h" before he could complete his sentence, Diva interrupted him.
"Kiwi Inc." She scurried into the car with the file. "Hurry up. I have to give this to Blaze and I only have seven minutes left."
Kevin nodded and got into the car. He started driving to Kiwi Inc. However, he didn't fail to notice the tension of Diva. She was glancing at the phone continuously, checking the time and then, looking outside the window to see how far they have reached.

As soon as Diva got inside the huge company, she didn't even look around properly. Simply, she ran inside.
"Hello, Mrs. Hudson," a woman in the reception greeted.
Putting brakes on her walk, Diva looked at the middle-aged woman. "Where is Blaze?"
She answered, "Sir has a meeting now, which is on the eighteenth floor."
Without wasting another split second, Diva rushed towards the stairs. She knew that going on the elevator would waste many minutes and for now, every second was important for her. If she was late, the meeting would start and Blaze would be humiliated for being careless.
She skipped a few steps while running through the stairs.
All the workers, who were seeing Diva, started greeting her. Diva didn't even have the time to greet them back, but she just nodded her head.
Her legs started aching when she was on the tenth floor, but that didn't stop her. She continued running.
When she reached the eighteenth floor, she could barely feel her legs. There were very few people on that floor.
She saw a guy wearing a dark green suit standing in a corner, and immediately understood it was Blaze.
"Blaze!" she called out.
Blaze looked at the owner of the voice and his eyes widened. "Diva?"
She ran towards him while he walked to reach her too. Due to the pain in Diva's legs, she couldn't balance herself anymore on the slippery floor.
Blaze grabbed her hand before she could fall. Diva held the file close to her chest with one hand as if the file was her child.
"Are you crazy?" he asked, after making her stand properly. "Who does that?"
Still gasping for breath, Diva handed the file to him without uttering a single word.
Blaze looked at the time. A minute was left until the meeting started. Everyone was already inside the meeting room. He looked at Diva, tension was visible on his face. He put a hand on Diva's shoulder.
"Are you okay?" He further asked when she placed a hand on her chest, still breathing heavily, "Why don't you sit?"
Diva shook her head.
"But" Blaze was interrupted by Thames Walker, the COO of the Kiwi Inc.
"Sir, the meeting is in 30 seconds. Please, come andwait. Mrs. Hudson, is that you? Of course, you are! Welcome to Kiwi Inc." He continued, "I would give you a warm welcome but we have an important meeting to attend. So we will catch up later."
Thames walked towards the meeting room, forcing Blaze to walk ahead. Until Blaze entered the meeting room, he repeatedly turned to see Divawondering if she was in pain.
After taking more deep breaths, Diva could go back to her regular self. Finally, I could give him the file in time, a satisfactory smile formed on her lips.
Slowly, she walked to the private elevator. She had no reason to take the stairs anymore. She had to go to the hospital and discharge Linait was the only task left in her list for the day.
I hope his meeting goes well, she wished, still in the elevator.
When she got out of the elevator, everyone greeted her once again and she made sure to reply to each one of them before walking out.
On the other hand, while the meeting started, Blaze looked at the file. It was of yellow color and he didn't even have a file of such a bright color. A smile evolved on his lips with the thought of Diva exchanging the files. According to Diva, grey was a boring color after all.
"So, did you bring the documents Mr. Hudson?" asked the president of the Megamile Corporation.
While talking to him, Blaze glanced at the window. He saw Diva walking towards the parking lot, stumbling upon her feet repeatedly. She was in pain, Blaze was well aware of it. However, he couldn't shrug off one thought. Why did Diva take so much trouble for a new friend?
