chapter 31: Kiss

It was pure silence in the carmuch to Diva's dislike.
Blaze's eyes were fixated on the road. He didn't even look at his wife for once. As if looking at Diva was a crime and it would result in him landing up in jail.
"I had such a busy day today. You know, I would say that working sucked which I wouldn't. Because I am doing something I like and that's all because of you," said Diva and continued, "One day, I will be one of the best game developers. Mark my words, Blaze."
She glanced at Blaze, who didn't speak anything in return. It was quite unusual.
"The game we launch, even if it doesn't become famous, I won't mind. At least, I am capable enough to create a game and all thanks to you, I am so excited!" she squealed in excitement, which didn't last long due to the mood of Blaze.
"Is something wrong, Blaze? Why are you so quiet? Did someone say something?" she inquired, looking at him with hopeful eyes.
Blaze saw her beautiful face, longing for an answer. Each time he saw Diva, his feelings for her grew stronger. She was an addiction.
He shook his head and stared back at the road. He wasn't in a mood to talk to Diva or anyone. He hated the way he was feelingwhich was undoubtedly his jealousy. He disliked the closeness between Taurus and Diva.
Why am I getting jealous? Taurus should get jealous because Diva is my wife, he thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Diva was trying to understand what was wrong with Blaze. Everything was okay until Taurus called her out from the cabin of Blaze. Was it something she did that angered him? Diva wasn't sure. Without being sure, she didn't want to take a risk by talking so much and anger Blaze. So, she decided to remain silent for the rest of the car journey.

"I don't know what I should do!" Diva groaned over the phone in frustration. "Seriously, Grandma. He is so quiet, even though he is always quiet but not this much. Whenever I ask something, he always answers, which he is not doing today."
Diva called her grandma as soon as she reached home. She was feeling that she did something wrong, which was why Blaze was giving him the silent treatment. So, she wanted to rectify the unknowing mistake.
Emerald said through the phone, "Diva, whatever you did, he can forgive you only if you cook something for him."
Placing the phone more firmly on her ear, she leaned on the couch, and said, "What do you mean, Grandma?"
"Cooking delicious food is the only way to a man's heart"
"and a woman's heart too," Diva uttered, interrupting Emerald.
"Diva, we are talking about Blaze here."
"So, you want me to cook something for him?" she asked, to be sure of what her grandmother meant.
"Yes. Make something he loves. You know, how about making his favorite food? Blaze will love it," suggested Emerald.
"But I can't cook properly," Diva reasoned out.
"That is why Blaze will love it if you do it for him. You do know his favorite food, don't you?"
Diva was taken aback at that question. Instant guilt ran through her, realizing she didn't know Blaze's favorite food. If she told her grandma that she didn't know his favorite food, Emerald would give her an earful.
"Diva?"
"Yyes, of course! Why wouldn't I?"
"Well, then, make his favorite food and fix his mood," said Emerald before cutting the call.
Diva slapped her forehead and stood on the couch.
"What should I do? I don't even know what he likes. If I knew his favorite food, I would've tried making it. But I don't even kn" her words dried off in her mouth as a sudden thought got into her mind. She knew someone who could answer her question.
Sitting back on the couch, Diva dialed Vyan's number. The call was picked after it rang for the fourth time.
"Hey, Vyan! How are you? And before you ask, I am not fine," she let out.
Vyan chuckled. "I am fine. And before I ask why you are not fine, why don't you tell me the reason?"
Diva took a deep breath and spoke, "So, Blaze has been silent ever since we got out of the office. I am thinking he is giving me the silent treatment and I did something. I don't know what I did though. But I want to fix up his mood, so I decided to make something he likes."
"You want to make something for Blaze?" asked Vyan, fully amused.
"Yes. Why not?" She uttered, "I know I cannot cook properly, but the least I can do is try. At least, it might make him happy."
"What if he's not angry with you and his mood is just grumpy?" Vyan was eager to hear Diva's answer.
She answered, "I will still try to fix his mood. He does so many things for me. Why won't I do the same?"
"Are you falling for my brother?" he teased.
Diva was left dumbstruck at that question. She didn't know the answer. She never thought about lovethat to loving Blaze. He was just a friend to her, right?
Am I falling for Blaze? Instantly, shrugging that thought off her mind, Diva said, "Just tell me what he likes or I will pester you by continuously calling you."
Vyan grumbled, "Already that girl is annoying me, not you too."
"What girl?" Diva interrogated, with full curiosity.
"He loves cookies," saying that, the line went dead. Vyan had cut the call.
"But what girl? Hello? Vyan?" She saw that he had cut the call. So, she let out, "Well, at least he told me what Blaze liked. I will ask about the girl later on."
Diva walked towards the kitchen and started looking for the recipe for baking cookies.
She didn't even guess that Blaze had a sweet tooth and liked cookies. He was always a quiet and cold type of person. Cookies didn't match his personality. But it proved that looks could be deceiving.
The memory of the last time she and Blaze cooked came into her mindwhich she shoved off immediately from her mind and focused on the cookies.

"Finally!" Diva put the cookies in the oven and heaved a sigh in relief.
It was tiring for her because she never gave that much effort to fix someone's mood. Not even for Lina and Grandma's mood.
"You have to like these cookies, Blaze. Otherwise, I will make you go bankrupt by spending all of your money buying cookie factories," she let out as if Blaze was really in front of her.
After she fixed the time, Diva went to the living room once again. Blaze was working there as usual, but he didn't ask where she was after they got home.
Is he really that much angry with me? Diva wondered.
She turned on a K-drama and started searching for a meme on Instagram. A meme that would definitely make Blaze laugh.
Blaze side-glanced at Diva, wanting to ask where she was all the time. But the thought of Taurus and her laughing crossed his mind, which was enough for him to not ask anything to Diva.
After some time, Diva became so busy with searching for a meme, that she forgot about the cookies.
Suddenly, a maid ran towards Diva and blurted out, "Ma'am, your cookies"
Diva's eyes grew wide in horror. She jumped out of the couch and ran towards the kitchen, leaving Blaze dumbstruck.
When Diva got into the kitchen, the strong burning smell hit her nostrils. Blaze followed her to the kitchen.
"No! My cookies!" With bare hands, Diva took out the cookies. "Ouch!"
Blaze, who was next to her, grabbed her hand. "Are you crazy?" He took the tray with a tissue and handed it to the maid.
"Blaze, the cookies are burnt!" Diva whined.
She was on the verge of crying. All her efforts went in vain. It was the first time she gave so much effort and made something with full dedication. Due to her carelessness, the cookies weren't perfect.
Blaze gave a curt nod to the maid, who left them alone in the kitchen.
"It's okay, Diva," he let out and took out ice from the fridge. He started applying to her hand before it could get any blisters. "These are just cookies. You can make them again."
Gazing at Blaze with teary eyes, she spoke, "But I wanted to make these for you."
"For me?" he asked, to be sure he heard it right.
She nodded. "You were so quiet. I hated the silent treatment you were giving. I don't know what is my fault but I want to lighten your mood. It was the first reason I tried baking the cookies for you."
Blaze looked at her in disbelief. He wasn't expecting that reply from Diva. However, her efforts of trying to lighten his mood made him happy.
Diva was doing something she couldn'tjust for me. Even though she had no fault and it was just my jealousy. How can someone be this cute? he wondered.
Cupping her cheeks, he wiped a few drops of tears which slid through her eyes. He uttered, "Your efforts are appreciated."
"Really?" She looked deep into his green orbs with her grey ones.
He nodded.
"Then, prove it," she breathed out.
"Sure?"
"Yes."
As soon as he heard Diva's answer, Blaze placed his lips on her soft luscious ones.
