chapter 7: Mission Newspaper

Blaze looked at the caller ID once again before he picked up the call.
As soon as he picked it up, his mom spoke, "Blaze Hudson! What's all this about? Why did you get married in a mass wedding? What is wrong with you? You could have told us, and we would have arranged your wedding if you loved the girl so much."
"Mom, I" he was interrupted by his mom, making him sigh.
"However, the girl is so beautiful, and I must say, she is awesome! She did great in the interview. I want to meet her! And don't worry; I have already convinced your dad. Even he has no problem as long as business goes smoothly."
Mrs. Tatiana Hudson, Blazes mother, was also like Divaan incredibly talkative womanmostly extroverted. No wonder Blaze didn't want to pick up her call in the first place.
She continued after hearing no reply from her son, "How are you, honey?"
"Fine," answered Blaze, happy that she stopped talking about Diva. "You?"
Thankfully, the interview cleared all confusion, and no one would ask him for his love story because Diva narrated it to the world. He didn't have to explain anything to his mom or dad anymore.
"I am wonderful, but a little bit upset because I wasn't able to attend one of my sons' weddings. But, I will make sure to get you married to Diva again after we return."
Blaze's parents were in the Netherlands exercising their dual citizenship. However, they spent most of their time in the Netherlands because it was safer to escape from the eyes of the enemies. As Vyan had many enemies, the Hudson family had to live separately, away from the eyes of the enemies.
"And when will you come?" asked Blaze, internally wishing for them to not come soon.
"In a month or two," she replied. "Anyways, honey, I want to talk to Diva. Can you please pass the phone to her?"
As Blaze was in his bedroom, and he didn't want his mother to bond with Diva or to even talk with her, he said, "She was tired, so she fell asleep."
His mother frowned and said, "Okay, no problem. I will talk to her later. So, how is your company doing?"
Blaze continued talking with his mother until she was tired enough to call it a night.

Diva and Blaze were in the dining room, eating their breakfast quietly. It was quiet because Diva was sipping her coffee and reading the newspaper. Usually, she didn't read the newspaper, but today, she had to. Linas message told her to check the newspaper, so she did. However, Diva found nothing interesting in the paper.
"Excuse me, sir and ma'am. Sorry for disturbing you," one of the maids let out, "This is the first page of the paper. It fell down." She placed the first page of the newspaper in front of Diva.
As soon as Diva's eyes fell on the paper, she spilled her coffee on the table and stood on the chairfear striking her.
"Oh my God! Oh my God! What should I do? What should I do? We are on the front page of the newspaper, Blaze!" She started jumping on the chair, not caring whether she would fall or not. "No wonder why, Vyan didn't kill me. He was waiting for grandma to kill me!"
The interview and the picture of Blaze and Diva was todays hot news. It was all over the news and it even spread internationally.
"What should I do now?" Diva glanced at Blaze, hoping that he would give a good solution.
Blaze seemed uninterested, but the two things which caught his eyes were the coffee on the table and the chair which was dirty as Diva was still standing on it.
"Firstly, get off the chair," Blaze said coldly.
"What will happen if Grandma finds out that I am married, not only that but with you?" Diva asked, getting down from the chair, "I am dead, Blaze!"
Blaze nodded at a maid, who understood what he meant and started cleaning up the mess created by Diva.
"Didn't she already find out from last night's interview?" he questioned, eating a piece of bread.
"No, we don't have a television in the house. Grandma loves living life in the twentieth century. I had to buy my phone and MacBook with a part-time job. Grandma bought a smartphone only after I moved out." She further spoke, "Anyways, that is not the point. She is a woman who loves literature and readings, she will definitely read the newspaper."
Diva glanced at her wristwatch. It was already 6:30 A.M.
"Shit!" she muttered under her breath.
Blaze arched an eyebrow, looking at Diva. He was really confused about her behavior. Why does she always act like a maniac? he wondered.
"Grandma reads the newspaper at 7 A.M every day," spoke Diva, "I have to hide the first page before she starts reading it."
Not bothering to ask 'How?', Blaze finished his breakfast and started walking until Diva stopped him.
"Blaze, wait!" She ran and stood in front of him, preventing him from walking away from her. "Book a bus ticket to Shoreline, please."
He was dumbstruck at her request. "Seattle to Shoreline is only thirteen minutes' drive, Diva. Just take a car."
She bit her lip, not willing to agree as she didn't have a drivers licenseshe didn't even apply for one. So she said, "So, what? If I take a car, Grandma will find it suspicious because I cannot drive and certainly, I dont have a car."
Blaze glanced at his wristwatch. He would be running late if he didn't leave right at that moment, and he had never been late in his entire life.
"Fine, just talk to my assistant." Blaze took out his phone and flashed his assistant, Atlas', number.
Diva tried to look at the phone number properly, but as soon as she saw the last digit, Blaze locked his phone.
"Done, right?" he questioned, wishing to walk past her.
"I didn't even see the entire number! I just saw the last digit, and it's nine," she replied. "Why did you turn off the phone? Will you miss your bus if you are a minute late? You are the boss. Besides, your work hours and the time of my grandma reading the newspaper are the same. If I am screwed, I will make sure you dont live in peace."
"You should've memorized the number in that one glance," retorted Blaze, making Diva gape at him.
"Are you crazy?" She placed her hands on her hips. "Who can memorize a phone number in one glance?"
Seeing Blaze arch an eyebrow, she let out, "Unbelievable! You can do that too? No wonder why you are 'the Blaze Hudson'."
Sighing, she unlocked her phone and showed the keypad to Blaze. "Here, type in your assistant's number."
Being confused, he asked, "Why?"
"As you won't let me see his number, the least you can do is type it for me." She handed him the phone. "Type."
Giving up, Blaze typed Atlas' number and stormed out of the house before Diva could find another reason to stop him.
Diva was slightly offended by Blaze's behavior. He wasn't helping her hide the truth from Grandma. Neither did he offer to tell the truth to grandma and convince her. She expected Blaze to explain everything to grandma, like in K-dramas how the male protagonist always convinced the female protagonist's family.
As there was less time than before, Diva dialed Atlas' number. Soon, Atlas picked up the phone.
"Hello, this is Atlas Keller, assistant to Mr. Hudson. How may I help?"
"Hi, Atlas. I am Diva Ad" she stopped before mentioning her surname. She wasn't a single woman anymore. She couldn't use her previous surname. However, she didn't want to use Blaze's surname yet. But she had to use it, whether she wished to or not. "Hudson. I am Diva Hudson, Blaze's wife."
"Ma'am! How may I help you?" Atlas was slightly surprised seeing Diva call him. But, he was happy to know that Blaze trusted him enough to give his number to Diva.
Diva told everything to Atlas within a short span of time. "What should I do?"
Atlas chuckled. "Ma'am, a limo is already in the garage, waiting for you. I have sent it. You can reach the Shoreline within a few minutes."
She was amused by Atlas's smooth and fast work. No wonder he was Blaze's assistant.
"Thank you so much, Atlas!"
After Diva ended the call, she ran towards the garageonly after one of the servants showed her the way. Thankfully, Diva was already ready to go to work before breakfast. She never felt like changing after she ate something. She decided to complete the mission of removing the first page of the newspaper, before going to work.

Diva was standing on the door, with a big grin on her face. Fifteen minutes were left before 7 A.M, so she had plenty of time.
Emerald Adler opened the door while cleaning her glasses. "Diva? What are you doing here so early in the morning?"
Diva barged into the house and said, "Grandma, I left an important paper here the last time I came. I told you to keep it aside. Did you keep it?"
Emerald wore her glasses and glared at her with her grey eyes. "How many times have I told you to stop talking so much? Simply saying 'I am here for the paper would've been enough."
Pressing her lips together, Diva stood still near the tea table. Emerald walked into her room, to get her granddaughters important paper.
Diva was glad that she left a few papers the last time she camewhich was a week ago when Emerald called her to come home.
Taking the nicely folded newspaper from the tea table, Diva removed the first page and shoved it in her bag.
She muttered, "Mission 'Newspaper', successful!"
"Diva, here is your article." Emerald got out of the room and handed the papers, which Diva took gladly. "How is everything at work?"
"Good," answered Diva. She wanted to say more, but Emeralds glare made her feel self-conscious.
She was here to remove the first page of the newspapernot get scolded by her grandma.
"Okay, I am heading to the office now. Bye!"
Diva got out of the house. As she knew her grandma would be watching her from the window, she made the limo park a little bit away from the house.
She walked towards the jet and beamed in excitement as soon as she got inside. "Yes! I did it, finally!" Diva took out her phone. "I should call Blaze and share this good news with him that the Mission Newspaper was successful."
As the phone started ringing, Diva eagerly waited for Blaze to pick it up. But who knew what Blaze would do after seeing Diva calling him?
