chapter 34: Damaged
The lights of the living room were still on. Diva's eyes were glued on the screen. She was working on the gameher dream game. She was so excited about 'Choc Hunters', that was what she named the game.
It was a whole new feeling for her. She never expected that her dream game would be transferred into a real game, that too by her. She was grateful to Blaze, for trusting her so much and supporting her.
After returning home, and shoving off the thought of falling in love with Blaze, Diva decided to do some work, which she did every day.
While working, Diva didn't realize when she fell asleep with her head on the table. Her hands were on the keyboard.
Blaze got out of his study and decided to check on Diva, wondering how she was doing. When she saw her sleeping, a chuckle escaped his lips.
Diva was working so hard. She didn't even give up when she was tired. Indeed, her excitement overpowered her energy.
She looks cuter when sleeping, Blaze thought to himself, I will make sure your game is a success, Diva.
He walked towards her and carried her in his arms. He kept doing this every night he saw Diva fall asleep while working. "You have no idea how much I love you," he mumbled to her, knowing she was fully asleep. After all, she was a heavy sleeper.
Blaze placed her on her side of the bed, covering her with the blanket. He kissed her forehead, whispering, "I will confess my love to you soon, my princess. Let this game launch first."
As he decided to sleep, a phone call stopped him from doing so. He shook his head seeing the caller ID. It was his twin brother, Vyan.
"How is the game going? I am eager to play. I hope it contains killing," uttered Vyan through the phone.
"The progress is good so far. Diva is doing great and I will make sure to give her all the support I can."
Vyan asked after a few seconds, "Are you in love with Diva, Blaze?"
"Yeah," answered Blaze curtly, "Unfortunately."
His twin was awestruck at the bold reply. He didn't expect his brother to agree to his feelings so quickly. "Well, I guess you fell for the trap as well."
"As well?"
Vyan shrugged. "Yeah."
Blaze smiled. He was happy that his brother fell for the girl Vyan was supposed to protect. "When will you introduce her to us? I am sure she and Diva will become great friends."
"She is crazy, bro. But don't worry. I will introduce her to all very soon."
"Did you talk to dad?"
Silence fell over the phone when Blaze asked that question. After all, Vyan and his dad didn't have a nice bonding as Blaze had.
"I have to go. Talk to you later," with that, Vyan cut off the call.
Heaving a sigh, Blaze walked towards the bed and pulled the blanket over Diva once again. She pushed it away in her sleep.
As he plopped in the bed, he turned towards Diva. While watching her sleeping peacefully, he didn't realize when sleep overtook him.

Early in the morning, Diva was gulping breakfast in one go. She had to go to Kiwi Inc. as soon as possible and do her work.
"Easy, woman," said Blaze. He ate his breakfast at the usual pace but watching Diva swallow all the food at once made him slightly worried. What if she chokes on food?
"Yeah, I am eating slowly," uttered Diva, but it was clearly visible that she was eating as fast as possible.
"Do you have urgent work or?"
"No. I just have to fix some issues related to the game." She smiled at Blaze and let out, "Besides, I love my new work so much that I want to go to the office as early as possible. Besides, even if I get bored, you are there. Isn't that a dream job?"
He nodded.
"All thanks to you. I am glad to have a friend like you," as soon as these words left Diva's mouth, Blaze dropped the fork.
Friend? Doesn't this woman understand that I am her husband? How can she only see me as a friend even after our kiss? he wondered.
"Husband," Blaze decided to correct her. He had enough. How long would he bear the title 'friend' from the woman he loved?
Diva didn't mean it when she called him a friend. It was as if she was trying to keep everything normal like before.
Arching an eyebrow, Diva breathed out, "Yeah, okay." She glanced at her wristwatch. "Let's go! Office time."
"We have time, Diva."
She let out a dramatic sigh. "Look, Blaze, it's okay. You can come to the office slowly. I will have Kevin drive me to Kiwi Inc. then."
Diva stood up, walking towards the exit. Blaze didn't like the idea of not going to the office with Divatogether. Without wasting another second, he got up and followed Diva.
"The things we do for love," he mumbled under his breath. He was doing everything to stay with Diva all the time. But that woman had no idea about his feelings. Clearly, she didn't want to think about his feelings until she made her dream game turn into a reality.
Diva continued walking. As she was about to get into the car, Blaze pulled her towards him. She was taken aback at the sudden movement.
"Bl"
He interrupted her, "Let's go to the office."
She glanced at him in amusement. Blaze never failed to impress her. Instantly, Diva pushed his hand away and hopped in his car. In order to save herself from shyness, she took deep breaths. Blaze had no idea how his touches gave her goosebumps.
Why do his touches always give me goosebumps? wondered Diva, as her cheeks turned red, which she had no idea about.
As soon as Blaze got into the car, his eyes fell on Diva. Seeing a tint of red on her cheeks, a smile urged to form in his lips.
Well, looks like I am really not only a friend to her, he thought to himself.

Everyone in Kiwi Inc. lowered their gaze, not even greeting the CEO and his wifeit was noticeable to Blaze and Diva.
Something was definitely wrong. But what?
As soon as Diva stepped into the game development studio, a gasp escaped her lips.
Starting from her iMac to all the files and documents on her table were ruined. She had saved all the data there, which she didn't take home. She thought it was safer in Kiwi Inc. Only some portion related to the game was saved on her laptop.
Her desk was in the corner so that she could work alone and peacefully. Diva slowly walked towards her desk.
All the documents were transferred into small pieces of paperthe pieces which couldn't be joined if wanted.
Diva ran towards her desk, Blaze following her. Everyone was quiet. No one had the audacity to speak.
She unlocked her computer, only to find out it was fully new. Only the password remained the same, but it was like a brand new computerno saved filesnothing in it.
Diva was devastated. She saw her dreams getting shattered within a span of time. Instantly, Blaze pulled Diva into a hug, which she didn't protest to. Rather she let her tears out.
All her effort went into vain. Everything was ruined. It was an unfortunate event, which no one expected.
