Chapter 31: Vera is kidnapped

Speaking of Vera, it's really unfortunate for her that not long after she got out of the bank by the back door, she was forced by two strange men to get into the car and take her away. The reason why the creditor's people were there to ambush was that Lani had already predicted that Vera would escape through the back door, so she told the creditor to have someone wait at the back of the bank. When he learned that Vera hadn't gone out with Enoch, Eric had grown suspicious. He believes Vera managed to escape Enoch, however, she is still in danger if she does not successfully escape. In addition, the creditor's people suddenly separated, which clearly explained that they also anticipated Vera's intention to escape and took precautions.
It was a tough, intense psychological battle, in the end, everything turned out as it was supposed to. Eric just hopes that he can save Vera in time before something bad happens.

Egan had just brought the glass of water to his mouth to drink when suddenly the world was spinning. A wave of vertigo came to strike him. The glass that fell to the floor drew Kaylin's attention.
"How are you?" The female doctor panicked and asked: "Do you feel something wrong in your body?"
Kaylin showed concern as Egan kept squeezing his temples. Not only that, his stomach kept getting sick, while his heart kept tightening. What is this feeling? Unexpectedly, it suddenly came and made Egan difficult.
"I'll help you massage some points on the sides of your temples." The female doctor suggested it and was allowed by Egan. Kaylin then used a massage technique to make Egna's head more comfortable. The job is simple, but it gives good results. Egan closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down, he didn't know why every time he remembered or thought of Vera, it felt like an uneasy feeling. Perhaps just now Egan could sense that Vera was in danger.
Moments later, feeling better, Egan asked Kaylin to stop.
"I'm fine, thank you very much."
Kaylin stopped moving, decisively moving away from Egan. Since becoming Egan's doctor, Kaylin has always kept her distance from him. Kaylin somewhat understands in her heart that Egan is now towards Vera, Kaylin is not jealous, on the contrary, she wants to bless both of them. Kaylin knows Vera deserves to be treated well and she believes Egan will be the man who can make Vera happy. Kaylin herself is inherently no different from Egan, the person she is aiming for is Eric. Honestly, during the past nearly a month, when Kaylin contacted and talked with Eric, she felt sympathy for that guy. Kaylin also hopes Eric shares her thoughts.

Eric was also present in this rescue, he decided to bring Vera to safety with his own hands. Egan's trusted assistant looked at the scene before him, fury spreading. He couldn't accept such indignant behavior towards a girl. Stepping over slowly, Eric took off Vera's overcoat and picked her up.
Before leaving, Eric coldly ordered:
"Treat them clean, this kind of scum shouldn't exist."
With that, he took Vera to safety.
Placing Vera neatly in the back of the car, Eric decided to call Egan to make him happy.
At this moment, Egan was still immersed in sad thoughts.
While deep in thought, the phone rang, startling Egan. Kaylin stood near the phone and hurriedly took it for Egan, looked at the caller number, she happily told Egan:
"It's Eric, maybe he found Vera."
Kaylin finished giving the phone to Egan. Without hesitation, Egan answered the phone immediately:
"Eric, I hope you have good news for me." Egan said the problem right away, his expression really very rash: "Don't let me down anymore."
"Found the girl you requested," Eric said in a calm voice, he didn't want to make Egna worry or become angry like he was right now.
"Really? How is she?" Egan happily asked.
Really Eric doesn't want to let Egan know about the bad news, but sooner or later Egan will and he will blame Eric for not telling sooner. Sooner or later, Egan will find a way to avenge Vera, so let's just say it to prepare mentally.
"Bad." Eric bluntly announced the news, causing the smile on the other end of the line to disappear, and Egan turned terrifyingly serious.
"What do you mean?" Egan asked, burning with uncontrollable fire: "What bad thing did Vera get into? She's still alive, isn't she?"
"She's about to be raped by four guys," Eric spoke slowly, he had to choose his words to say it. Hearing that, Egan gripped the bed sheet with tremendous force. The proof is that the white sheet has been torn. Kaylin looked at Egan's expression and shivered in horror as well. She knew what she meant and kept her mouth shut, not daring to ask about Vera.
"Luckily I made it in time." Eric added when Egan suddenly went silent: "They haven't harmed Vera yet."
Still, only silence responded, Egan didn't seem to react, he just made a cold face, the murderous aura burned around him.
"I'm taking her to the chalet now," Eric tells about his destination. A secret place that Egan used to rest during the holidays.
"What about those bastards?" Egan finally spoke up, he must have a plan to punish the bad guys.
"It's settled, you can rest assured." Eric soothes Egan.
"I know, I'll be there soon," Egan said and Eric agreed.
Then the call ends. Egan turned to Kaylin.
"I need you to go to Vera, she needs care."
"Of course, I'm always ready." Kaylin replied immediately as if she had been waiting for that moment for a long time: "I will prepare the necessary things, you wait a moment."
"OK." Egan agreed to Kaylin's request.
"I'll see you at the hospital gate in ten minutes," Kaylin said, Egan nodded in agreement, then Kaylin hurriedly left the room while Egan also changed and prepared everything to go to the meeting point to meet Eric.
Egan's health has recovered, he can leave the hospital from a week ago, but Egan doesn't want to be alone so it would be better to stay here. At least he won't be bored with Kaylin's company. But now Egan had a reason to leave.
'Vera, wait for me.' Egan closed his thoughts and walked out of the room. He can't wait to see Vera right away.

"Eric!" Egan's voice called out as soon as he entered the house. A man named Eric who was in the room where he had just laid Vera down hurriedly announced:
"I'm here. The girl's in here too."
Hearing Eric's voice, Egan rushed to the room where Vera was. Kaylin was left behind, however she wasn't angry or upset. Kaylin understood Egan's mood, he was anxious to see Vera with his eyes instead of hearing the news over the phone.
"Vera, how is she?" Egan's voice sounded worried as he flung open the door and found Vera lying motionless on the bed. Seeing Egan, Eric got up from his chair and walked over to Egan to calm Egan's mind. Eric wanted to prevent the agitated Egan from rushing to disturb Vera's rest.
"She's unconscious, she's probably too tired to sleep. Don't worry too much."
Patting Egan's shoulder, Eric advised him: "You have to calm down, understand?"
"Sorry to disturb your reunion moment, but can either of you help me bring my belongings from the car in here?" Kaylin's voice interrupted what Egan was about to say to Eric: "I need to check on Vera ASAP."
Kaylin had appeared outside the open door, staring at the two men in the room expectantly.
Eric turned to Kaylin, volunteering to say, "I'll do it, ma'am."
"Yes, thank you." Kaylin politely asked, "Can you hurry up?"
"Of course." Eric replied to Kaylin, then patted Egan's shoulder a few times, encouragingly: "You go out and wait, let the doctor take care of Vera."
After saying that, Eric walked out of the room leaving Egan still motionless in his position.
Now that Kaylin had entered, the doctor slowly approached Vera. Looking at the girl's pale face, Kaylin felt pity.
"Can I stay with Vera?" Egan suddenly apologized, causing Kaylin to turn to look at him.
"I want to stay with her," Egan repeated his request, looking intently at Vera instead of at Kaylin, whom he asked.
Kaylin knows Egan's feelings for Vera, but it's not advisable for Egan to stay. Kaylin didn't want Egan to be in a bad mood when she found out what had happened to Vera, plus the female doctor wouldn't be comfortable with anyone watching her work openly.
Referring to Vera's health, Egna suddenly calmed down, he followed Eric and walked out of the room.
"We wait outside, if you need anything, just call." Eric let Kaylin know.
"Yes, I know."
Eric slowly closed the door and received a nod of thanks from Kaylin.
In a very apologetic voice, Kaylin said:
"I think you'd better get out. I'll take care of Vera. I promise to do my best." Kaylin made a troubled expression asking Egan to understand the situation, but Egan didn't seem to want to be rejected, as evidenced by his body not moving, and his gaze still fixed on Vera.
Kaylin realized there was nothing more important to Egan now than Vera. It was clear that a man named Egan had a very sacred and precious affection for Vera. Not simply because Vera was Egan's benefactor, but more than that.
How could she have the heart to forbid what Egan wanted to do and be with Vera? True expression and determination to stay in Egan's room made it difficult for Kaylin to decide whether to be easygoing or strict.
