Chapter 54: Prepare for the comeback

The two still have not stopped being infatuated with each other.
"I want you again." Egan suddenly admitted: "Maybe you're addicted to me."
"Is that unusual?" Vera wondered: "Have you been like this with any girl you liked before?"
"No problem." Egan firmly asserted: "You are the first person who can win my heart. So it's completely understandable that I'm in love with you."
"It would be an honor for you if what I say is true." Vera was a little skeptical: "And you're the luckiest person in the world to be able to make me fall in love."
"If you don't believe me, I'll prove it to you." Egan confidently declared: "You'll just have to wait and see. I'll make you no longer doubt anything about me."
"Yes, I'm always available, prove it. Better prove it now, hurry." Vera had words of urging, immediately Egan had a quick kiss that made Vera feel down. Honestly, just like Egan, Vera wanted more.
"I bet you want me too?" Egan got teased when Vera pouted sulkily because Egan ended the kiss early.
"Can't be blamed, who said he was a handsome man, with an alluring charm." Egan boasted arrogantly and was immediately pinched by Vera.
"You don't get cocky anymore." Egan scolded love: "Those things must be recognized by others, but no one in my life would recognize them, so that's not right."
"So do you think I'm like that?" Egan frankly asked Vera. Egan would love to know what Vera thinks of him.
"I admit it." Vera did not hesitate to declare: "I really can't escape your temptation."
Egan gave a smug smile when he got Vera to admit it. What a shame, Vera blushed at Egan's smile.
"I know no matter what, you won't be able to escape me."
"Unfortunately, not now." Vera said apologetically, she was afraid Egan would be sad: "So I had to let you down."
"I know." Egan smiled reassuringly at Vera: "I can wait until you get better."
"Yes." Vera smiled sweetly and kissed Egan on the cheek: "Thank you for your patience."
"I'm always ready, anytime I'll be for you." Egan eloquently declared.
Oh my god, Vera is really happy. She wants to scream for the world to know how great her boyfriend is.
The two have not yet left each other, eyes exchanged words of deep love. And lips touched nonchalantly with provocation. However, that moment was shattered when Kaylin's voice rang out, signaling the arrival of the female doctor.
"Eric hurries up, there's a lot of dishes to set up."
Egan and Vera parted ways. While Vera went back to washing dishes, Egan made his way out of the kitchen area. He didn't want to be caught by Kaylin while flirting with Vera.

The barbecue took place in a cozy, fun atmosphere. Four people gathered together and talked very animatedly. They talk about a lot of topics. Vera felt as if she was truly alive after what she had been through.
Every party will have an end, after eating and drinking, the group decided to stop. While Eric and Egan sat on the sofa drinking tea, Vera and Kaylin were in the kitchen cleaning the dishes.
"I almost forgot to tell you about the latest news." Eric put his cup of chamomile tea on the table, calling the attention of Egan, who was busy scrolling through his cell phone.
"What is that?" Egan asked without looking at Eric: "I hope that's good news."
"It's good to say." Eric eagerly said, "I'm sure you'll be glad to hear it."
"Speak, I'm listening." Egan urged, eyes still not leaving the phone screen. What is making Egan pay attention is the delicately sculpted diamond ring, full of charm and fascination. That's right, Egan is browsing through this year's newest pieces of jewelry. Egan is planning to buy Vera a gift.
"What's keeping you glued to your phone screen instead of me?" Eric observed Egan's expression, complaining. Eric doesn't like him being ignored. Not to mention, Egan doesn't seem to be interested in talking, which makes Eric feel like he's redundant, the air in Egan's eyes. It's really annoying: "Are you sneaking around watching something shady? That's a picture of a model in a bikini?"
Eric said as he leaned over, trying to figure out what Egan was watching. As if realizing Eric's eyes were following her, Egan took his eyes off the phone and looked at Eric. Egan has an explanation:
"Oh sorry, did I ignore you?"
"And pretending to be innocent. You really wanted to piss me off." Eric continued to complain: "What are you watching to get so engrossed?"
"Nothing." Egan avoids Eric's prying eyes by asking, "So what do you want to tell me?"
"I thought you weren't interested in what I said?" Eric sarcastically said: "Stop doing your work, ignore me."
After saying that, Eric also pretended to be busy and avoided Egan's gaze.
"Come on Eric I'm sorry for not paying attention to you." Egan got in the water first, he wanted to hear about the news so he decided to soothe Eric's wounded soul: "What's the breaking news you're talking about?"
"I've lost interest in talking to you." Eric sulkily: "Let's talk about it another time."
"You really are a child," Egan commented bluntly.
Eric stayed silent, not arguing with Egan. I knew that if I didn't threaten Eric, it wouldn't end this childish war. So Egan decided to threaten Eric's bad points.
"If you don't tell me, I'll tell Kaylin about yours." Egan cunningly reminded: "My brother's vices, I bet Kaylin doesn't know them all yet?"
"If you dare, I will kill you." Eric immediately glared at Egan. He showed no fear, showing a triumphant smile.
"You won't even say I'll find Kaylin and tell you're embarrassing story."
Powerless before the tricks that Egan would use to deal with him, Eric had to bring disaster to meet Egan's request. It's not a big deal, but let your girlfriend die of shame.
"I didn't expect you to be so petty, daring to use dirty tricks to achieve your goal." Eric sternly commented: "Let Vera know what will happen?"

"My funeral?" Egan exclaimed in surprise. Then he laughed because it sounded so ridiculous.

"Perhaps they are afraid to have a long night of dreaming." Eric commented: "So it was quickly resolved. That's completely understandable, the company cannot go a day without a leader."
Egan sighed, he knew that what Eric said was true. That director's chair is a position that everyone wants to have. And while Egan was away, his whereabouts were unknown, it was normal for a rebellion to want to fight.
"Who do you think is the beneficiary at the moment? Who can sit in the leadership chair if I am really dead?" Egan suddenly became serious, he wanted to discuss with Eric about that serious matter.
"Who else comes in here if not your uncle." Eric has a sharp deduction: "Just to tell you, it was your uncle who surreptitiously opened the council meeting. And it was he who insisted on brainwashing everyone that you were dead. He had a plan. to give you a grand funeral."
"He hasn't discussed it with his grandfather who made his own decision?" Egan asked suspiciously.
"Exactly." Eric revealed further: "Did you forget that your Grandpa is still abroad and hasn't regained consciousness since hearing that you went missing?"
"If what you're saying is true, then there's a good chance that my uncle was the mastermind who wanted to kill me?" Egan came to a conclusion.
"I am actively gathering enough evidence to convict him." Eric said: "You can rest assured that sooner or later that old man will have to bow his head and confess."
"Hmmm!" Egan sighed dejectedly. He really had been suspicious of his uncle for a long time, too. It's just that Egan didn't expect people's greed to stop them from doing bad things. Killing loved ones to get possessions, sounds terrible.
