Chapter 31

Elle’s Point of view

Despite the fact that I wasn't feeling well at the time, I attempted to rise up and check the mirror to see if what Logan was saying was correct. He rushed to my side to ensure that I would not fall since my body was still not in a solid position. Earlier, I had the sensation that my body was being ripped apart and that I was on the verge of passing out from the anguish. I likewise have no recollection of what transpired, although I am aware that a doctor had arrived earlier in a while. I could hear her talking to Logan, but I couldn't make out what they were saying since the sound was distorted. It wasn't until Logan started talking to me that I realized I had lost my hearing thoroughly.

However, after a while, it also regained.

I examined myself in the mirror in his drawer, which had the crimson lip gloss that Gaia had given me. Gaia presented me with a lip balm and a glass circle, which she used to check that the positioning was perfect.

When I first saw my eyes, I peeked out the window and moved across to the other part of the wall to obtain some light because I couldn't see it clearly.

As soon as I put on my mirror, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The first thing I remember is Veronica and Ursa how they looked at me with their red eyes as if they were looking down on me. I turned to look at Logan, who was simply standing there, watching me.

"Can you tell me what this is?"

"To be quite honest, I don't know either since I was taken aback when I noticed your eyes. When I inquired of the doctor about it, she informed me that you were experiencing anomalies. She will have to research you for more than a week. After that, I'm certain that she'll be able to provide you with a clear response since she's one of the top doctors in the whole pack. ”

I simply stood there and listened intently to what Logan was saying, my gaze never leaving the mirror. I can't believe what I'm witnessing. My heart is racing because there is so much stuff going on in my head at the same time. What if I happen to be an Alpha female as well? I know it's impossible, but I can't help but be delighted that I will also be a high rank just in case, and maybe this will allow me to feel less anxious about my own skills and potential. Because I was just a beta, I always assumed that I would never amount to anything in Logan's eyes.

"Logan, just in case another puberty strikes me... Doesn't that mean I can—"

“What? Do you believe there is a massive disparity in our ranks? ”

“N-no. It’s not like that, I just think that I am inferior to you and many will be angry because I am different from you yet you chose me.”

"They can't stop me from doing anything I want or stopping everything I want. Because you are my choice, they must accept anybody I choose to accompany me. It is entirely up to them whether or not to discontinue my leadership, since I couldn't care less what they think. I don't grab them by the collarbone. Basically, I'm simply directing them."

I was unable to respond to what he had said and chose to keep quiet. I gripped the mirror even harder because what if the others just opted to let Logan go because they didn't think I was worth it? I worried about what would happen if they did. I have a lot of thoughts racing through my head, and I don't want Logan to leave where he is right now. The worst thing that may happen is that one day he would just wake up and express remorse for all that has transpired.

He could come out of nowhere and tell me that he's sorry he selected me. It makes me nervous to think of what may happen if that is how he sees the world one day. I wanted to get away from him while it was still early, but my foot wouldn't let me. Every time I step away, they sprint back to Logan.

Logan extended his hand, and I raised my eyes to the ceiling. "Regardless of what you're thinking, you should let it go. It's all in your head because I know how much you love me, and they know how much I value you as well. They are well aware that if you vanish, Buckingham Palace will be destroyed as well."

I reached out and accepted his hand that had been offered to me.

"Logan, I'm not sure what I'll do if I don't have you around. But I'm not certain that I can ever lose you again, for the following reasons that—"

When he took my hand in his, I couldn't finish what I was about to say. As a consequence of what he did, my eyes widened even more. That is where we are at the moment since he hasn't budge. The bite mark was clutched in his hand, and I could tell he was smelling me.

"The truth is... I'm much more afraid than you are, Elle. I'm concerned that you'll suddenly realize how much damage I've done to you and announce that you don't genuinely like me after all this time. You may imagine you are terrified of me, and as a result, you may choose to succumb to me. Elle, I'm afraid because what you're feeling for me right now is terrifying, and you could end up regretting your decision to come back here. You've abandoned your pack..."

That phrase brought back memories of Augustus abducting me, something I had forgotten about. I opened my mouth, but immediately closed it again.

Is it possible to entirely forget everything that has happened? There is no need for me to be worried about what Augustus did to me.

But I don't want to look back and be disappointed in myself. The fact is, I don't want to keep it a secret from him since it's likely that my lying will be the catalyst that brings us to our knees forever. Logan has my confidence. He had a legitimate reason for wanting to know why I had gone that day, and it was as if the misunderstanding between the two of us had been resolved.

"Logan. Is it still fresh in your mind the day you believed I had left? The day... you were upset with me because you assumed I had chosen to betray you and just disappear."

"Yeah... I'm sorry about that," his voice turned melancholy, yet he continued to shake. I leaned up close to him and cupped his face.

"In fact, something occurred to me on that particular day." I tried to keep a grin on my face to convince him that I was OK, but tears welled up in my eyes as I did so.

“Elle, what exactly happened? You tell me what to do. Have you been through a tough period? Why? Please tell me so that I may find out." He wrapped his arms around me as his words rang with anxiety.

"Augustus..." I spoke quietly to him. "Augustus..."

Because of what I stated, I was able to see the swift masculinity in his eyes. Then he shook me by grabbing both of my shoulders. “Why? What was it that Augustus did to you? Is he responsible for anything horrible that happened to you? Could you please tell me Elle so that I know what to do?!" His voice has become more audible.

My tears came down in torrents, and I couldn't stop myself from sobbing. I assumed it would be simple to tell him the truth. I was wrong. I made a clerical error. I couldn't stop the memories and sorrow from flooding back into my mind, and there was nothing I could do to stop them.

"H-he raped me," I say. " I got out to go out one day and he came and scooped me up and took me to his place. Immediately after the rape, he took me back to this place in order to make it seem as if I had fled."

Although his rage could be seen in his eyes, I was prepared for what he would say and what he may do to me, yet he did nothing. He doesn't say anything, just stares at me. I, on the other hand, will not be deterred from continuing to cry.

"Can you explain to me why you didn't tell me this?" His tone was solemn and laced with apprehension and frustration.

"He told me he would tell you what happened to us, and he also stated you would think I was filthy if you found out what happened to us. My greatest fear was that you would toss me away and that you would no longer want my efforts, so I kept the reality hidden from you. And now that I've told you the truth, I'm ready to hear whatever it is you have to say to me about it. I'm willing to take anything Logan... " I came to a complete halt, closed my eyes, and then started crying again. "However, please don't tell me you don't need my care any more, Logan. Please don't tell me you're going to dump me because I'm not prepared for whatever that comes my way. Please don't abandon me."

“What are you saying? I would never do anything like that to you, Elle. Believe it or not, but I swear I love you more than I love my life, therefore I implore you to please accept my devotion. Please don't forsake me. Tell me about all of your concerns. I'd like to know everything." His voice still has an edge of rage to it, and I can feel it.

"Allow yourself to rest for a while since I still have things to finish." He held me and we gently laid down on the bed. He wrapped his arms around me, and I was completely unaware that my eyelids were slowly shutting.

Logan’s Point of view

I observed her inflamed eyes. Because of the heavy bags under her eyes, she is clearly unable to get a good night's sleep. When I was certain that she had closed her eyes and was not going to wake up, I stood up from where I had been laying down. I wrapped the blanket over her.

I hurriedly retrieved my sword and walked gently out the door in order to prevent Elle from waking up again. As soon as I got to the top of the stairs, I let out a shriek.

“Gaia! You were in charge of all of our forces. Instruct Hadrian's soldiers to keep an eye on Elle's chamber."

Elle sprang out of the door as quickly as my movements were swift and large.

I can't forgive Augustus for what he did. He was not just a traitor, but he was also a nasty person. I saw that everyone had gathered, and Gaia was in charge of keeping an eye on Elle. While Hadrian was getting ready, he was also preoccupied.

"My Lord, you have an issue. Perhaps it is too late for you to have any more troubles?"

Hadrian, who seemed to have woken me up in the middle of the night.

"Because of what Augustus did to Elle, we have no choice but to declare war on the Lone pack. Kill anything you come across in the Tarragon pack, and I don't care whether it's a juvenile creature or not. You don't need mercy to give to anybody. Keep Augustus alive because I will be the one to take his head."

I was the first one to walk, and he trailed after. I looked around and saw that everyone was ready.
