Chapter 68

Third Person's Point of view

“What stunning scenery, isn’t it? Ideal for couples who wish to enjoy a stroll while engaging in meaningful discussion." Augustus couldn't keep a sneering smirk off his face when he saw Elle. He was well aware that Logan was already gazing at him, so he simply served to aggravate the situation.

Elle saw Archer looking at her with a chilly expression on his face. Due to the fact that she didn't know what to say to Archer, Elle opened her lips, but soon shut it again. The terror that she felt in her heart just got more intense. She was at a loss for what to do since Logan was a long distance away from her. Elle was almost certain that Archer had apprehended her before Logan could get close to her.

Her eyes welled up with tears as she realized she couldn't bear the thought of leaving. Logan was her one focus, and she simply wanted to be at his side.

Then Archer said, "Elle, I didn't expect you to treat me like this."

Elle's hair stood on edge when she heard Archer speak in a chilly tone. Although she was aware that Archer was nice since he was always patient with her, she didn't anticipate the day when Archer's tolerance with her would be exhausted.

“A-archer…” That was the only thing that came out of her lips.

She is unable to stand on her own two feet because she is becoming weaker. She was terrified that the two guys in front of her would grab her and take her away, and she would never be reunited with Logan. During her stay with Archer, this was the first and only occasion she had ever experienced dread. And, as a last point, she was uneasy about the guy who was with Archer. He didn't say anything, just glanced at her face, and she didn't feel instantly at ease.

When Augustus lifted his hand to take Elle's hand in his, his hand was instantly damaged by something that drove into it.

The moment they all turned to see where the blow to Augustus' hand had come from, they saw Yora straining a bone in her neck. She turned to face the two gentlemen after doing the sound of it.

“Why are you bullying a girl? Don't you understand how unpleasant it is when the Lycan king becomes upset? Perhaps we'll become lost in this place all at once."

"Lycan king?" Elle was even more bewildered at this point. It was as if she was completely unfamiliar with the situation and had no idea what was going on.

Suddenly, she saw blue magic around her body, which she took to be protection, and then her body ascended into the air, and in a moment, she was standing behind Logan. The magic in her body hasn't gone away, but her physical condition has improved. She believes she is capable of standing up correctly.

When she attempted to walk up, she was able to do it with relative ease, prompting her to dash for Logan.

The moment Elle held Logan from behind, Logan's eyes widened in surprise. Despite the fact that he couldn't move, he knew what was going on when Elle's embrace abruptly tightened and she cried out loud. When Elle saw Archer earlier, Logan was concerned that she might abandon him, therefore he did not take fast action when he saw Archer. It's a good thing Yora showed up, since else he'd have to live with the consequences once again.

It's just like he didn't come home when Elle requested him.

"Elle." Elle is the name he uses lightly. He reached for Elle's hand and was going to pull her away from him when she shook her head.

"No ... I'm scared, Logan. I'm really baffled as to what's going on."

Elle's hand was softly massaged by Logan as he groaned. "There's nothing to be afraid of, Elle. I'm right here. So long as you continue to grasp my hand and pledge that you will never let me go, I will not abandon you."

As soon as Logan uttered it, Elle's palm flew wide in wonder. Logan grabbed her by the shoulders and held her tightly.

"When you return to the palace, I will go through everything with you. I assure you that whatever you desire to know will be revealed to you." Elle nodded as he kissed her on the top of her head. That was sufficient justification for her, to have Logan inform her. "Do not stay away from me for the time being so that Archer does not take you back."

Elle didn't say anything since she didn't comprehend what was going on. She simply nodded.

"Augustus, you are so fed up with your thirst for power, and if before I believed you merely wanted power, now I know that you just do not want power. You want to be in complete control." Smiling Yora said to Augustus.

Augustus burst out laughing as Archer locked his gaze on Yora. While Yora did not make a commitment to him that she would be faithful to him, he did not believe that Yora would exploit him in this manner.

"You are correct; I want nothing more than to have complete control over everything. It's a shame Logan didn't die immediately because I aim to seize control of the throne and use it to rule over mankind. I know it's not difficult to accomplish that since I was able to control you before; maybe it's not difficult if I do it to all Witchers as well."

"Having a strong desire for power leads to erroneous thinking. Augustus, don't you agree that this is true?" Yora is the one who mocked Augustus this time.

Prior to responding to Yora's question, Augustus was prevented from doing so by Archer, who attacked Yora out of the blue.

“What is that? Yora laughed.

“Yora, you made a mistake.” Archerd coldly said.
