Chapter 51

Elle’s Point of view

Logan has not returned to the house in almost eight days. When he went, I didn't stop him because I did not wish he could simply modify his behavior for me all of the time. I believed that in order to keep our relationship together, we needed to communicate more effectively. I can't deny that I still think about him and miss him. However, he felt compelled to act on behalf of his constituents. When things begin to deteriorate for Archer and Nerus, the result is not favorable.

My eyes were flooded with brightness from the bright sunshine. While I was still laying down, I became aware of the movement of the servants. I also arranged myself since I had things I wanted to do today once I took a shower. Urla and Caius are still refusing to leave the premises; I have no idea what they are up to, but it seems like they are really adamant about not going.

As soon as I touched the door, I heard Gaia quickly speak outside when she knocked.

Gaia, on the other hand, took excellent care of me in order to ensure that I didn't have a difficult time adapting to life without Logan. I can always count on her to provide me fabric and needles to make outfits if I'm feeling down. What she told me was that she found stitching to be a great source of relaxation. I can attest that what she said had an influence on me. For the last several days, I've been busy sewing outfits for Logan, and I'm certain that those garments will be finished before he returns.

"My Lady, what would you like to have for breakfast today?" Where will you eat?” Her tone was hushed and gentle. She's the only one with whom I can really claim that I'm at ease than the other servant. As far as I'm aware, they still have doubts about me because I'm a beta in another pack. I'm quite aware that they continue to have suspicions about me.

"I'm not going to eat this morning, Gaia," I reply.

“My lady, Your Majesty has informed me that you are not permitted to skip on food. Perhaps, are you still working on the clothes you're working on?"

I opened the door after she asked.

"No, not at all. Today, I'd like to experiment with several dessert recipes. So, if it's possible, please direct the other servant to prepare everything I need, and please allow me to take a bath before I go down." I gave her a kind expression since I was embarrassed to instruct her.

As I looked into her eyes, I realized she was simply looking. And I could see the astonishment in her eyes. I instantly tightened my grip on my neck, fearing that they would think I was strange because of my rapid shift of eyes.

"I'm sorry about my eyes."

“Ladyship, you must not. The magnificence of your eyes captured my attention since you are the first beta to have eyes that are comparable in appearance to Alpha's."

“I-Is that so?” I feel awkward.

She smiled and nodded. “I will order the servant to prepare your bath. Please let me know if you need anything else." She turned her back on me, and I nodded despite the fact that she couldn't see me at the time.

Everything else was done right away, including getting the water ready for me, and I finished it all right away since I was extremely excited about learning to bake. There are other people that are excellent, and I don't want Urla to be the only one. In the water, meanwhile, I was unable to move my body due to numbness in my chest, which made it difficult to breathe. The waiting servant was outside, but I couldn't call her since something was caught in my throat.

*cough* *cough* *cough* *cough* *cough* *cough* *cough*

I coughed one after another, as if I couldn't take any more of the discomfort of my coughing fits. My cough is growing worse, it seems to me. When Logan departed, I became aware of the situation, but I didn't expect it to worsen.

When the servant heard my piercing coughs, she walked right in.

"My Lady!" She provided assistance for my back and helped me in getting out of the water. When I got out of the wooden bathtub, my body began to give way to the floor, and I was unable to stand on my own two feet. When I peeked outside, I saw that the door was wide open. The first person I saw was Urla, who was gazing at me with a shocked face as I glanced around the corner. When the servant realized I was looking at her, she swiftly shut the door.

The servant pulled me to my feet once again, and I was able to get myself back on my feet. My throat, on the other hand, continues to ache.

"Don't tell Gaia what happened." Despite the fact that my throat felt scratchy, I attempted to talk.

A troubled expression crossed her face, but I offered her an assuring look in return. "I'm in good health. Please assist me in putting on my robe."

Regardless of the fact that my hand was trembling, I kept it hidden so she wouldn't notice. Gradually, as my body grew more steady, the irritation in my throat began to subside.

I came in and went right downstairs to start the baking, not expecting Urla to be here at the same time. She gazed directly at my face, and I did all I could to avoid staring at her. It seems that the reason she was taken aback previously was because of my eyes.

My bones are also suffering, for reasons that I am unable to explain.

“Ladyship! Can you tell me what happened to you and why your skin is like that?"
