Chapter 55
Third Person’s Point of view
Logan was returning on his horse when he received the news from the messenger. He was riding at breakneck speed. He got word that Elle had mysteriously vanished without a trace and that there had been no evidence of an infiltration. When he examined the paper containing Gaia's words to him, he saw that Elle was suffering from a terrible ailment that was more than simply a cough. Logan was filled with regret. He felt he should have sent even a basic note to the sender. He was terrified that Elle might abandon him for good.
"Our Lord has returned!" Even though the guards hoisted the flag to welcome him upon his return, he couldn't bring himself to feel any happiness since he knew he had something else to deal with.
Originally, he would dismount from his horse to welcome their greeting; today, he doesn't feel anything and just walks inside his chamber.
When he reached the palace, he came face to face with Gaia.
"I don't know how many times I can warn you not to come back till you cross paths with our Ladyship! Find out where she is! Please, if you must visit the dauchy of another pack, make the pilgrimage. Speak with the Marquees as well! Care to enlighten them that the lycan king has granted you permission!" Gaia's voice was scratchy since she hadn't slept or relaxed for two days in the hopes of finding Elle, but there was no evidence of her wherever to be found.
When she saw the gloomy aura of the Lycan king waiting for her to complete what she was commanding, she knelt. The attendants and guards went rapidly, while Gaia bent her head to the Lycan king, who looked exhausted. Perhaps she was preoccupied with other tasks that she failed to notice Logan's arrival.
“Gaia! This is the second time something like this has occurred! Can you tell me what you're doing and why Elle vanished without a trace?" Gaia's head aches even more as Logan's words resonate throughout the castle, making her even more dizzy. She wanted to speak the truth, but she was worried that Logan wouldn't believe her.
Elle had no idea how she had gotten into her own room on the day Elle went missing. She kept an eye on Elle outside the door since she was concerned about her, but she was taken aback when the daylight poked through the crack and she found herself in the bedroom. While visiting Elle, she just saw that Elle's room was open, everything was clean, and there were no signs of anything having happened.
“Forgive me, My Lord.”
Because she had no other motive to lie to Logan, it was the only thing that came out of Gaia's lips when she opened it. Logan drew his sword and was about to swish it at Gaia when the door to the room swung open unexpectedly. Urla was resting against the wall with her arms folded, and they both saw her at the same moment. Urla is still unaware that Logan is already well-versed in all things. However, he was unable to expel the two since Elle was his first and foremost goal. Logan and Gaia are very enraged with them since they are the ones who brought about their current state of affairs.
"My Lord, if you simply toss Gaia's life away without a second thought, it will be a waste. She seems to be upholding her responsibilities." Despite the fact that Urla's expression is serious, there is a suggestion in her voice that she is ridiculing Gaia's look.
"Silence, Urla, if you don't want me to put you first in my considerations to kill! I have no doubt that you will be beheaded right now, and I will inform your father of this. I don't care if there is a war between our territories.” Logan's voice sounded solemn, and his crimson eyes were filled with a growing sense of rage. When Urla realized that Logan didn't have time for her, she rushed up to him and cleared her throat.
"Please don't behave in this manner, Your Majesty. If you murder me now, there will be no way for you to find Elle ever again."
Logan glared at Urla, his face contorted with wrath. Urla was trapped against the wall in an instant, and the edge of the sword was already pressed into her clavicle. Urla's eyes suddenly widened as she realized she was about to be afraid to look at Logan. Her neck and forehead were dripping with sweat as she steadied herself against the wall.
"Did you have anything to do with what happened today ?!"
“N-No! Elle was asleep at the time, and I noticed a man carrying Elle." Urla had intended to just lie and defame Elle in order to prevent her from returning to Buckingham palace, but she was able to disclose the truth on her own as a result of her dread of being caught.
“Explain yourself!”
"I happened to look out the window one rainy night. I saw Elle unconscious as a man with a hidden aura lifted her up. The guards were awake at that point, but I was perplexed as to why they couldn't see him. But I see him, and he seems to be encircled by a powerful aura. Gaia's life will be wasted, as I already said, since she has done nothing wrong."
Logan took his blade from Urla's neck and seemed to take a deep breath, as though Logan had come to trust Urla's story. Logan, on the other hand, seemed to be lost in thought at the time. He believes it is Nerus because, according to the book he read, Nerus has the ability to conceal his aura and only the royal family may potentially see him.
Logan didn't say anything and then immediately exited the room and raced away again. Gaia had meant to call him to urge him to take it easy initially, but due to Logan's incredible speed, he couldn't hear her anymore.
