CHAPTER 11

"I'm one of the creatures, a she-wolf actually." Sidney said with a proud grin on her face. Calla looked at her with shock visible on her face.


"Am I the only one here who is a normal human being?" Calla said as she got up and left the kitchen. She couldn't believe it. Xavier, Mara and even her best friend kept her in the dark. They didn't trust her to tell her the whole truth. She felt like she was meeting strangers. Calla ran to Ethan's room and locked herself.


"Calla, open the door. Please let me explain." Sidney said, knocking on the door. Calla was sobbing but managed to speak.

"Go away Sidney, I don't want any explanations, nor I want your sympathy." Her voice cracked into the end of her sentence. She buried her face on Ethan's pillow and cried. She kept crying until the exhaustion engulfed her and she fell asleep.


Sidney went back downstairs and waited for Ethan to come back home. She didn't know how to handle this situation. Calla was a very cool minded person. She rarely gets angry. Sidney never got to deal with angry Calla. She sat on a couch in the living room and thought about the whole conversation she had with Ethan, in the morning.


FLASH BACK.


Smiling brightly, Ethan came out of the room. He went downstairs to prepare breakfast for both of the ladies and for himself either. He entered the kitchen and found Sidney sitting on one of the seats.


"Who are you? And how do you know Calla?" She asked in an angry tone. She wanted to know everything about this mysterious man. Ethan sighed and turned to look at her. He then went close to her and looked straight in her eyes.


After a few seconds his eyes glowed and he murmured. "Remember…" he stepped back and went to the kitchen, leaving Sidney standing and staring at the wall. All the memories of this stranger came rushing her mind. She felt a bit dizzy with all the sudden storm of memories in her brain. She sat down and closed her eyes. She saw everything clear. She has been seeing him around Calla since they first met. Every time Calla was in trouble or needed help. He was there to help her.


Ethan was cooking in the kitchen and Sidney went to him. "You… and Calla… but… why?" She couldn't form a question. Her mind was still a mess with all the old memories.


He understood her question and replied. "It's my destiny." He didn't say anything else and Sidney just nodded her head.


"So you know her since when?" Ethan replied to her in his usual serious tone.


"I have known her since she was convinced." Sidney gave him a confused look. She didn't understand what he meant by that.


"It's all I could tell you. It's not something you should know more about." Ethan replied in a warning tone. Sidney somehow understood that they both are connected, otherwise an ancient vampire like Ethan would never come and rescue a human like Calla.


"So what are you planning to do now?" Sidney asked to which Ethan slapped his hand on the kitchen counter and replied in an irritated tone.


"As I told you. This isn't your problem. So you better mind your own business creature." Sidney rolled her eyes and spoke.


"You know I'm her friend." Ethan replied to her back in a second.


"I know, but still I don't trust you." Sidney asked back.

"I know I'm a creature but that doesn't mean I'll hurt her. I can control myself." Ethan raised a brow and asked back.


"Are you sure that you'll never hurt her?" Sidney knew he knew about that too. The most horrible night of her life.

"How do you know about that?" She whispered her question and Ethan replied.


"When I said, I have known her since she was convinced, I wasn't joking. I was the one who saved her that night from your beast."


Sidney gasped and replied. "Did I hurt her? I can't remember what I did to her that day."

Ethan replied in a low tone. "If I wasn't there on time, your beast would have killed her."

Sidney was speechless. "It was me who made you stay away from her during full Moons."

He added to which Sidney nodded her head. "What stopped you? Why didn't you tell her or make her stay away from me?" Sidney asked back.


Ethan was now angry and very irritated with this conversation they were having. He turned around and said in an angry tone. "Look, I did what had to do. Stop asking me questions, creature. I don't think I have given you any sort of authority to ask me random questions like this. You're her friend, be her friend but stop interfering in my life or you'll regret it." He said that and exited the kitchen. He went back to his room, and Sidney sat back on the couch in the living room.



FLASH BACK END.



Sun was starting to settle down. Sidney was waiting for Ethan to return back home. She knew she couldn't leave Calla alone. Door unlocked and Ethan came in. Sidney stood up and went to the door. "Now what happened?" Ethan asked in an irritated voice.


"She locked herself in your room." Sidney replied.

"What?" Ethan almost screamed. "Couldn't you just get in and check up on her if she's fine?"

He added to which Sidney rolled her eyes and replied. "I would have if someone wouldn't have used 20 different protection spells on their door."


Ethan sighed and replied. "I did it on purpose when the time was close for her to be here." Sidney just nodded her head and thought.

(You should be grateful to me that I gave you this favor, what a rude blood sucker.) She turned around and said.

"I better leave, I still need to tell my alpha what has happened. He must be thinking that I'm taken like others. He has been searching for answers, but found nothing" Ethan nodded and Sidney went to the door.


She was about to leave when Ethan called her from behind. "Creature, if you think this was a favor then I'll return that favor now and here. I don't keep favors, especially from shapeshifters. Go and tell your alpha that it's riders who are taking people."


Sidney gave him a confused look and spoke again. "What do you mean?"

Ethan replied. "You won't understand. Just go to your alpha and tell him that. He'll get an exact idea of what I mean." Sidney turned around and left.



Ethan quickly went upstairs, to his room. He snapped his fingers 3 times and opened the door. He stepped inside the room and found Calla sleeping peacefully on the bed. There were dry tear stains on her cheeks. Ethan's heart skipped a beat with the thought that Calla was crying. He went to bed and sat down beside her. He cupped her face and caressed her cheek with his thumb. Calla frowned her brows, she tried to move away so she could sleep peacefully. Ethan chuckled softly and stroked her cheek with the back of his fingers. Calla slapped his hand and opened one eye. She looked at Ethan who was smiling. She turned around to get back to sleep but Ethan grabbed her by her shoulder.

"I know you haven't eaten anything. Get up, we are having dinner." Ethan said. Calla tried to free herself but failed.


"I'm not hungry. I'm sleepy. Now go away." She tried again to get herself free but failed again.


"I said we are having dinner, so dinner first." Ethan replied with a smirk.


"No, go away." Calla almost screamed. Ethan raised a brow, Calla was fighting to free herself. Ethan grabbed her wrists and pinned her on the bed. Calla's eyes widened in shock and she looked at Ethan. He was smirking, knowing she can't win from him. Ethan's breath fanned upon Calla's face and her cheeks turned pink. Ethan kissed both of her cheeks, then her forehead and then started leaning in. Ethan's lips captured her lips. She tried hard to resist but she couldn't. Ethan bit her lower lip lightly and she opened her lips, giving him entrance. As his tongue slipped inside her mouth, she moaned softly. He smiled and let go of her wrists. She quickly intertwined her fingers in his soft hairs, tugging them lightly and his hand grabbed her hips to get closer to her. After a few minutes he released her and she gasped loudly, filling her lungs with oxygen. He smiled looking at her swollen lips and she smiled back. He pulled her close to him and hugged her. She rested her head on his chest, inhaling his scent. Ethan then broke the hug and pinched her chin lightly.


He guided her gaze to him and asked. "Do you want to know the truth?"
