CHAPTER 18
THREE WEEKS LATER:
Calla washed her body, she was in the bathroom. Her feet were better, she was able to walk now. Calla wrapped a towel around her body and stepped out of the bathroom. She went into the closet and changed into a yellow t-shirt and black skinny jeans. She slowly made her way downstairs. She looked around for Ethan but she wasn't on the ground floor. She went to the basement and found him lifting weights. She looked around, everything was now at its place like it used to be. It felt like nothing had happened there. She hadn't come here since that day. He looked at her and smiled. She smiled back and went to the couch. She sat on the couch and kept staring at him. "I'm hungry." She said and held her tummy. Ethan put the weights down and looked at her.
"I don't remember you hiring me as your Butler. You are free to go and cook into my kitchen." He replied with a smirk. She raised a brow at him.
"Oh really, but I remember you promised your Master that you'll take care of me. What if I went into the kitchen and my finger got burned or cut or both?" She said with a teasing smirk on her face.
Ethan shook his head at her statement. "Whatever, you're hungry. Go and cook for yourself." He replied and started lifting weights again. She stood up and went to the fridge. She looked inside the fridge which was filled with water and blood.
"Eww… disgusting. You keep this stuff here." She said. In the blink of an eye, Ethan was behind her. He pulled her away from the fridge and shut it. Calla was standing in front of a mirror. He gave her an angry look and she blinked her lashes innocently. He then pinned her with the mirror and leaned in. He reached to her neck and nibbled her sweet spot lightly. She moaned but her stomach growled out louder than her moan. He sighed and raised his both hands in defeat. He scooped her up and threw her over his shoulder. She giggled as they went upstairs. He made her sit on the kitchen counter. "So, what would you like to eat?" Ethan asked her.
"Pancakes with whipped cream." She replied.
"Okay." He said and busied himself in preparing her breakfast.
After breakfast, she went to the living room and he went to his master's room. She was reading a book but she wasn't interested in that. She was now getting bored. She stood up and went to the room of his master. "I'm bored." She said as she stepped into the room.
"Calla, I'm working." He replied.
"But I said I'm bored." She said again.
"What do you want me to do Calla?" He asked in an annoyed tone.
"You can dance in front of me. That will be perfect entertainment for me. I can't say naked because I don't want to be in trouble." She said with a smirk. He looked at her, shock visible on his face. Seeing his face she started laughing and he shook his head.
"It's a bit important. I will dance for you once I'm done." He replied and busied himself in his work. He was preparing a magic potion. She laid on the bed and kept looking at him. They were closer now. She started trusting him more and he was careful. He gave her a memory a day. He was right, there were so many times when he had done her homework for her. She could even remember the time when she had an assignment to complete but she went to the party. He completed that assignment for her. There were so many nights, she had fallen asleep in his arms.
She felt a feather-like kiss on her cheek and she came back on Earth. Ethan was laying with her and they were in the spoon position. "What were you thinking, Calla?" He whispered in her ear.
"Nothing new. I was thinking about the memory you gave me back today." She replied. He buried his face in her neck and lightly kissed her sweet spot. She smiled and closed her eyes. "What did you mean with someone looking for Sophie?" Calla asked.
"I am still looking into this but I'm sure someone is looking for her." Ethan replied.
"But what made you think this way?" Calla asked.
They both sat up, Calla was looking at his face. He grabbed her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. "Before Sophie was taken, I was at your place that night. I saw a vampire stalking, keeping a close eye on you. But that's what I thought. He wasn't sent there for you. He was sent to keep an eye on Sophie. But your blood made him lose control and he made a mistake. Luckily, I was there on time to save you. Then the other day, when we found your friend at your house. I went back to look for any sign or clue but everything was clear. Your house is like it used to be. Just a few things missing and guess what, all of those things belong to Sophie." He explained.
"Who could that be? And why would anyone try to stalk a child? She's just a baby." Calla said. She was both angry and sad at the same time. She felt helpless.
"Probably, just because she is pure blood. As I said they are very rare and if I'm being honest, kind of impossible to find." Ethan replied.
"So, that's something for the Storm Riders and they took her. So why stalking her now and taking her things?" She asked.
"It's not Storm Riders, they took her now they are probably looking for you. It's someone else. Someone I can't put my finger on." Ethan replied.
"I wish daddy would be here to explain all this." Calla said and a tear escaped her beautiful eye.
"Trust me when I say Xavier didn't know anything about it. He doesn't even know that his Master actually never died but was killed." Ethan explained.
"Wait, he had a Master. Like your Master?" Calla asked
"Yes. Xavier and Mara, both were turned by the same Master, his name was Braxton. If I'm being honest, he was almost my age, a few years younger than me. He was a powerful vampire but not so smart. All I know is he is dead but it wasn't his time. That means only 2 things. Either he messed up with time or he was killed. And I know he wasn't really a person who would mess up with time or rules of nature." Ethan explained.
"So that means someone actually killed him. But why and who?" Calla asked.
"Right now, I'm not sure. All I saw was the same spot at the highway where Mara and Xavier died. Every time I followed clues or my super senses, I ended up there. I'm still looking for the answers." Ethan replied.
"Why at the same spot? Does it have some sort of connection? Am I missing something? I really don't understand." Calla said.
"As I said Calla, I'm not sure right now. I am not even sure why the Storm Riders haven't found you yet?" Ethan said.
"Wait, I thought you were joking." Calla said.
"I wasn't. You are someone who can end this wild hunt. I don't know how you can do that but you can and Storm Riders are looking for you. Why haven't they found you and how are you still safe? I don't know and I'm still searching for answers." Ethan replied.
"That's what Sophie said in that dream. She said, They aren't here for her, they want me now." Calla said as she remembered the dream she had of her niece.
"Which dream are you talking about?" Ethan asked.
"You remember when you pulled me out, the Storm Riders were about to get me and you pulled me away from them." Calla replied.
"Why hadn't I heard her saying that to you?" Ethan asked.
"I don't know. She said that and I can still hear her words in my head." Calla replied.
"Does it mean that she's the one who is keeping you safe?" Ethan asked.
